Dyno Proven Tunes. Bama Custom Tunes have been dyno tested, refined, and tested again on our own fleet of Mustangs to ensure maximum performance gains, so you know you're getting the highest-quality tune available, each tune is created precisely for your Mustangs specific modifications.

Get Your Money's Worth. If you're shelling out money on an intake, exhaust, and other performance system upgrades, you need a tune to see the real difference (especially on the 2005 and newer Mustangs). A Bama Custom Tune will even improve the performance of a stock Mustang too!

Increase HP, Torque, Fuel Mileage & More. A Bama Custom Tune will dramatically improve gas mileage, torque, horsepower, throttle response and towing power - ditch the factory REV and Speed Limiters.

3 Custom Bama Tunes specific to your 1987-2004, 2005-2010 V6 Mustang:

Street (87-93 octane) - the street tune is designed as a daily driver program that focuses in on increasing mid-range power. It does give up a few HP at higher RPMs, but that's why there is a Performance file. Automatic vehicles are further enhanced by making adjustments to the transmission's shift points and firmness.

Performance (87-93 octane) - The Performance program is designed to add power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. Timing, fuel and throttle response settings are slightly more aggressive than the street tune. This is a great track tune but also works well for daily drivers that are looking for a little more "get up and go" than the street tune. The automatic transmission settings are the same as in the street tune.

Race (91 - 93 octane) - The race tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race only Use" as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. in fact, the adjustments are so aggressive, that we do not recommend it for daily driving as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. Finally, with the automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.

    2 Custom Bama V2 Tunes specific to your 2005-2017 GT, 2011-2014 V6, 2007-2014 GT500 and 2015-2017 EcoBoost Mustang:

Performance V2 (87-93 Octane) - The Performance Tune offers a seamless blend of power, performance and drive-ability. Improving the overall driving experience of your Mustang, the Bama Performance tune improves vehicle acceleration, increases power throughout the entire RPM and improves throttle response with revised timing, fuel, and TiVCT maps. Automatic equipped vehicles offer an aggressive shifting map to provide more aggressive transmission settings. This tune is suggested for the aggressive daily driver that is looking for more "get up and go".

Race V2 (91-93 Octane, *Unleaded Race Fuel, **E85) - The Race Tune is designed for maximum performance and ensures the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory as timing, TiVCT, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. Automatic transmission settings implement entirely new shift points, torque converter changes and firmness settings designed for Track use. This file is designed for "Track Use Only".

*Customers are required to provide stoichiometric point of Race Fuel

**E85 Forced Induction tunes are handled on a case by case and require consultation with Lead Calibrator.

Nitrous (91-unleaded race gas) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options for 1988 to 2017 model years, but only for 91-octane unleaded fuel.

Application. This Bama Performance Free Tune Update is for customers who have already enrolled in the "Free Tunes For Life" program. Tune Updates are available for all 1987 to 2017 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, EcoBoost, Bullitt, Mach 1, SVT Cobra and Shelby GT500 models, and can be programmed for Naturally Aspirated, Factory Supercharged, or Nitrous powered Mustangs.

      • Yes, you can get your tunes set-up like this. Just let us know in the customer comment box when filling out your tune details for us.

Trottle body, how do I upgrade my tune for a 73mm body? In my tune details, it has my throttle body as stock, my 2011 v6 has a 73mm throttle body, how do I get the upgrade tune?

      • You have two options for upgrading your tune files - you can either give us a call and we can get you all set up or you can add this 'Free Tunes for Life Members' to your shopping cart. Once the order is placed, you will receive an email with a link to fill out the tune information sheet. That's where you would include your 73mm throttle body as well as your other mods so we can get the most accurate tune for your Mustang. Once that is submitted, you'll receive an email with the new tune files once they are completed. Very simple process! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give our Bama team a call. They'd be happy to help!

Got a 2013 mustang 3.7, how do i get new tunes? I had a 2010 v6 mustang 4.0 on which i ordered a tuner for. Now i traded it in and have a 2013 3.7, how will i get new custom tunes for the new car? Do i have to buy the three tunes? Or do i get free tunes since I'm a current member, just not with the same car??

      • The Free Tunes for Life program lasts for the life of the Mustang that was initially tuned. Congrats on your upgrade, but yes you will have to re-enroll into the Free Tunes for Life Program for your 2013 - a one time fee of $150. Hopefully you set your 2010 back to the stock tune before trading so that your tuner is unlocked and will accept new tunes easily. If you have any other question or concerns, please give our Bama team a call! They can get you all taken care of!

Mustang Tuner Risk and Reliability? Hi AM: I am interested in Bama custom tunes and the SCT wireless device. I have read about all of the praise for your custom tune product, but I am concerned about any downside issues such as tunes that are too lean and result in scorched pistons and / or rings. What assurances can you offer about product reliability and safety? I try to research the mods that have already been installed on my 2012 V6 to make the 'best' choices possible as my objective is to really enjoy this vehicle and not create a 'problem'. Thanks for whatever you can offer in addressing the reliability concern and risk. RLM

They're still aggressive and a significant upgrade over stock, but engine safety is our main focus. The Bama team has been tuning Mustangs for a long time, with tens of thousands of tunes sent out to our wide span of customers, we're very confident with the product we offer. We have 14 different AM company cars and a full warehouse on parts right down the street that our Bama team has full access to test anything they want! Answer This Question

I'm considering purchasing an Xcharger from the Explorer express website and I want to purchase the one without a tuner since I already havea Bama tuner. Would I be able to add the Xcharger as part of my tune and receive those in my email and have them ready for when the install is done? I don't want to have to spend extra for another tuner I don't need.

      • Bama Performance does not support after-market forced induction applications, however, if Explorer Express or XCharger is providing the tune, as long as their tunes are compatible with the software it should certainly work. We would recommend reaching out the provider of the tune, to see if there are any units they do not support.

Great way to kill your Coyote

I do not race. I have never been to the track. My car is a daily driver and, other than occasional spirited driving, I never goes much beyond 2500 RPM. I meticulously maintain and baby my car. A year ago I added a JLT CAI and Bama Tune. Every mustang owner I know warned me about Bama's reputation with Cylinder #8. A few short months later I started getting random P308 CEL "Cylinder 8 Misfire" At first I though it was a fluke. Since then, I have gone back to stock, Replaced the MAF Sensor, O2 Sensors, all 8 Coil Packs, all 8 Fuel Injectors, Crank Position Sensor, Had Ford do a Crank Relearn and Reflash. When I replaced the plugs I found small particles of aluminum stuck on the ceramic part of the plug indicating the that there was a detonation in #8 cylinder. Ford is reading Low Compression on #8. This is going to cost a lot of money to fix. Not to mention my car is sitting in the garage because I'm scarred to drive it until I can afford to get it fixed. I have no doubt that the Bama Tune damaged my engine. No one could convince me otherwise. I will never trust Bama Performance for even the mildest adjustment to my PCM. I am now on the "don't use Bama tunes" band wagon and will tell every mustang owner I talk to at the car meets and forums about the risks and consequences of Bama's Canned Tunes.

Bama Customer Service is Horrible, Promises Never Kept

You know, it seems that the only way you can get this company to follow through with a promise is if you complain about it still not being done. On April 1st I ordered a Custom Tune for the Ported Cobra Jet Intake I was buying and Ported GT500 Throttle Body so that when it arrived the next week I would be ready. Those were the only two things changing, Bama has tuned this car to it's setup before now so they only needed to change for those items. (Granted I had speedo problems twice but they finally got it right, same with Rev Limit, eventually they would handle the issues I found) April 7th I called for an update, I was told that they were working on it I would have it by the end of the day. Great I planned on going out to the track that weekend so I was ready to go. Never got the tune. April 8th I called for another update and was told it's still in progress but they will get it to me today. No problem sometimes things get busy. I wait and nothing comes through. April 9th and 10th nothing. April 11th I call in and ask why we are running into such issues for just changing these two items. I was told they were short staffed but that they were sending it to Paul Meister the Lead Calibrator. I should have a tune by the next day (April 12th). Today (April 12th) Paul contacted me and let me know he would handle the issue and it would be done today. Finally believing I could move forward I went ahead and pulled the car apart, got everything put together and switched over. At 3:11pm I got an email from someone else at Bama (John Sauers) saying they suddenly didn't have injector information. Mind you they have written 5 tunes for this car already (we had some issues along the way with the Rev Limiter and Speedo but I just said meh things happen) I replied at 3:28pm letting him know it's still the same injectors as last time the LU47's. At 4:15pm I called Bama and started the wait process to get to someone, it wasn't horrible I get someone only to be told Paul and everyone else has left already and no one updated the injector information they were supposedly missing so I will be waiting until tomorrow but they promise it will be done tomorrow. (Notice the pattern here?) Frankly I can't believe Paul left without following through with the guarantee he made a customer directly. Nor can I believe that to change an Intake Manifold and Throttle Body is going to take 13 days.... although with the track record now I can say I am not holding out that they follow through. I am however hoping that making this public everywhere will ensure they finally might just stand behind their word. I can't say I am happy with Bama nor that I believe come tomorrow I am not going to have issues like the wrong Rev Limit, wrong Speedo Calibration or other tuning issues because now I am complaining but this is ridiculous. This is not how you treat a paying customer you promised to get taken care of back on April 7th.

Bama Free for Life Tunes - Outstanding Service

2011 V6 Mustang - Sterling Gray / Premium / Automatic Bought my tuner with the free for life tunes. Right away I wanted some 91 octane tunes so I followed directions and placed my on-line order. Had my tunes the next day. I played with the various tunes and figured I'd try the race versions. Ordered them via their on-line process again, had my tunes in one day. Back to playing with my Mustang! It's really pretty interesting, the differences between the various tunes. I felt that both the street tune and the race tune shifted a little harder than the performance tunes. So I switched back and forth between the 88 and the 91 octane performance tunes for a week or two. For me, I really do prefer the performance tune. The car runs hard, and yes it shifts pretty aggressively, but I still think it shifts smoother than either the street or the race tune. That is part of what makes this so much fun, just playing around a little, driving a few days with each tune, finding the one you like the best. The street tune is supposed to pull a little harder in the low-end but it wasn't enough to really get my attention. The performance tune is supposed to pull in the mid-range and I think it does. The car pulls hard right up to the shift point, shifts pretty hard and starts pulling again. The race tune felt pretty close to the same but if shifts harder. It probably does pull a little harder in the power range (about 3500 RPM all the way through the shift). If the roads are wet you'd better not be sleeping on that shift from first to second. That 91 octane race tune will get up and go so if you're gonna choose off any of those older GT Mustangs you might want to muscle up :-) I always switch back to stock for road trips. I like it nice and smooth when I'm traveling. I also switch back to stock for a couple of weeks here, maybe a month there...just to keep the Bama tunes fun and fresh. Mustangs are supposed to be fun...Right? Later this year I'm putting a set of gears in. I don't even know if I'll need new tunes. But I know if I do, they'll be free and I'll have them very quickly :-) Mike - Albuquerque, NM

I am currently still running the 87 street tune and this is hands down the best driving experience ive had with my mustang. This blows my previous Brenspeed tunes away and is very similar to Brenspeeds 91 tune. I cant imagine what it would be like running the American muscle 91 race tune and 91 tunes , it would be above and beyound :) Just waiting to have to refill my tank with 91 before i try those out. Now I see , American muscle does amazing tunes now and i highly reccomend them before the others

        Surprising Results

I say "surprising" because I honestly did not expect the tune to be spot-on, first time, without any tune revisions. I've been told by other competent tuners that for a full bolt-on, wild cam car they would need to do datalogs and one or two revisions before I would have a driveable tune. I was even turned away by another very well respected tuner because of my intake and cams. So I decided to give BAMA a shot. I sent in the order and two days later, I had my tunes. The day I received my tunes, was coincidentally, also the day I finished installing my cams and springs. The moment I buttoned up my engine, I grabbed my tuner and loaded the first tune. Right away, it fired up and found its lopey idle. Took it for a test drive and there were absolutely zero issues. I was floored. I expected there to be, at the very least, some throttle hang or some A/F issues. Absolutely none. The car drove flawlessly. It accelerated eagerly. And it idled like a baws. I am speechless, BAMA. You nailed it. After multiple tuners told me that they either couldn't do it (without revisions), or couldn't do it unless I paid extra, or wouldn't do it at all, not only did you guys do it, but you freakin' nailed it. 5 stars. I'm sold. Customer for life.

        Bama Tunes

The Bama tune was a perfect compliment to my 2012 Mustang. After loading the 91 octane Street, Performance, and Race tunes, I ended up sticking with the Race Tune. The performance difference CAN be felt, especially from 3k on up, whereas with the stock tune, my car would begin pulling strong at 4k on up. My car also only has the 3.31 gears and with this Bama tune will blaze the tires into third gear from a roll without effort. There are only two minor concerns I have (room for improvement): (1) I wish the turn-around time would have been quicker. It took several days for the tune to arrive by email. (2) The skip shift elimination feature was missed on the Race Tune. However, a quick phone call had this resolved and a new Race Tune was sent out within 15 minutes.

Well, I just got my 93 Race tune today that Chris Rose wrote up and Emailed me (FREE) as I'm a lifetime tune member, and let me tell you, OMG, my completely stock GT with the exception of Magnaflow Magnapack axle backs and the 93 Race tune is a complete and total beast now!!!! The car (automatic) spins the tires when it hits second gear and barks in third when I'M WOT (and that was launching without spinning the tires just punching it once I started to roll) with my prior 93 performance tune I could smoke the tires off at launch just thru 1st and shift normally thereafter, I can only offer a guess that had I stomped it from a dead stop with this 93 race tune, it most likely would smoke the tires thru 2nd gear (I was so amazed that it was spinning in second and barking in third, I completely forgot to do a dead stop tromp)
