Easy swap looks great

Easy swap on my 2012 Boss 302. Took about ten mins looks great. It was pretty expensive for a grille but I like that it is OEM quality and will last a long time and fits Great.

Do the stock GT lights fit behind this? If not could I just cut out the honeycomb cover?

CaseKnight Year: 2012 Model: GT

  • Anything is possible with modification and patients. since the two spots are the same as stock gt lights, i am 99% sure it would work with minimal trimming of the grill if any at all. If you get it done be sure to post pictures on here.

Looks proper in a Boss 302

I'm very pleased with the result of this piece, and it's significant to me that it was an original part on the FR Boss race cars. I'm sure there was good reason for that. I bought it primarily for the aesthetic value and painted it just like the factory piece, but I'm also certain that it flows a lot more cooling air due to the far greater openness in the design compared to the stock grille. I removed the rubber seal under my hood (attached to the rear portion of the bottom of the hood) under the presumption that the additional incoming air would flow better with decreased obstruction to its exit. I expect Ford designed hood vents on the 2013s for the same reason. It's simply flimsy plastic, no better and no worse in that regard than the factory piece, but it aligns with the original intent of the guys on the team who designed the Boss 302 but ultimately had to make concessions for the production piece (as I've read, they were concerned about snow becoming impacted in the fog light openings, so they covered them up). It looks a bit meaner, it looks (and is) functional, and it was worth it to me to buy it rather than trying to modify my factory grille.

    Let it breath

I wanted a new grille that would allow more airflow into the radiator. This grille gives the car a more aggressive look while allowing more airflow. Fits perfect and very easy to install. I just had to be careful removing the original emblem from the old grille.

Excellent look, perfect for blacked out look

the grille looks amazing (even without the emblem). I have no complaints with quality or appearance. The only issues i encountered were the bad installation instructions (couldnt access the instructions throught the website mentined one the included leaflet from ford) and there is a small, about 1/4, separation along the bottom where the grille should touch the bumper (may be the grille but i would place my money that it is the bumper of my car since the owner before me was rough on it)

    Love it

This grille really looks good on my Black 2012 Gt. I didn't paint it since it really was not needed on a black car but overall the look is awesome now and looks more natural on our cars than others. Being a Ford part obviously fit was perfect, I'm glad I decided to go this route and have a part that not only looks good but is functional.

    Personalized styling!

As soon as i got the new grille i took it to the body shop to be painted just like the real Boss grille. After i got it back install was a snap, I did everything at once, Grille, lower fascia and splitter. Installation was very easy and perfect fit. I just wish that AM would offer them painted so its a part that you can install right out of the box.

    solves the cooling issue

its really just a standard 302 grille that has been belt sanded from the back to open up slots, and chicken wire on the fog light holes. all in all I like it, you can do the same to your factory grille but it would (maybe?) devaluate it later. only thing that would be great would be to purchase that grille with the built in surrounds pre painted (its unfinished/matt black as shipped. anyhow its a factory grille , fitting is perfect and acts the business :)

    Excellent

Great grill. Looks awesome on the car. For those that will wonder (as I did) the plastic is unfinished. I elected not to paint it since it matches the rest of the plastic on the vehicle. Looks amazing!!!
