Description
Improves Handling. The most popular progressive rate spring in H&R's line-up, Super Sport Springs will lower your Mustangs center of gravity, to reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Sport Springs feature more control than that of the stock factory springs, but are still comfortable enough for daily driving and occasional track use. Aggressive Stance. The H&R Super Sport Springs not only improve the handling of your convertible Mustang, but they also improve the overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 2.0" in the front and 1.6" in the rear to eliminate that nasty raised 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.

Recommended Upgrade. When installing new springs you should also replace your old worn out rubber Spring Isolators with a new set of Polyurethane Spring Isolators, see drop down option above.

Application. This set of four H&R Super Sport Springs are designed specifically for use on all 1994 to 2004 Convertible Mustangs. Does not fit IRS equipped SVT Cobra models.

these spring fit great with 315/35/17 in the rear. i tried eibach pro kit and did not drop enough, but these are perfect.

  • Yes it will be fine my car I have now is lowered 1.75 in the front and 2.0 in the rear I have 1.5 rear spacers and 18" bullitt wheels and I have no problems what so ever

Work on 02 v6 Coupe? Would these fit, i am guessing they will. But would they drop 2 inches in the front? I love the drop on these springs, 2 inch drop on the front is what i am looking for. I dont see any other springs for the v6 coupe that will drop that much unless i am missing something. Any help or direction on springs would be great! Thank You

  • I doubt your going to get the 2 inch drop that you want for your V6. A GT is a little heavier and I just put these on my 2000 GT convert. The front dropped 1 3/4 and the rear dropped 1 1/4 right away. But they will settle down a little bit more as they get broke in. Remember you have a lighter front end then a V8, and this will effect how low your car drops cause of the weight difference.

    Great Springs

    Put these springs on today on my 04 gt and what a difference in stance and ride. It has dropped about and 1 and 3/8 so far in the front and about an inch in the back. Cant wait to see it in a week after they are broken in.

    Great appearance!

    I love the springs, well worth the money. My car has a very aggressive stance now, looks great, and the handling has improved. The only downside so far is when I took it to get my oil changed, and it was too low to fit over the pit, haha! Great buy. 5/5

    Amazing Product

    I installed these spring on my Convertible GT in about one full day. The look was amazing and the ride was excellent considering how much they lowered the vehicle! Now my GT corners better than ever! As far as installation the rear was much more difficult to complete than the front. My recommendation is to diconnect everything before removing the lower control arm bolt. If not done; lining everything back up will be a challenge!

    Best choice for your Convertable GT...

    First of all let me start of by saying this has been a great experience. I spent weeks looking online and researching for the right lowering springs for my 03 Mustang GT convertible. I decided on purchasing H&R super sport springs (51658-77) From American Muscle. I also purchased Maximum motersports caster camber plates (MMCC9994). I highly recommend doing the same if lowering your mustang. Also replaced the spring isolators, sway bar connecters, and tie rod ends. I ordered online Sunday afternoon. I received an Email that the Items were shipped Monday morning standard shipping. I received my 2 items Wednesday at Noon. Much sooner then I was expecting. Great service from AM. Thanks. Got a friend to help me with the installation. It took us two evenings to complete the whole installation or about 6 hours. It was not very hard as long as you take your time and read everything in the directions twice. At first measurement the front dropped 1.5" and the back 1.3" from stock. I expect them to drop a little more over the next 2 weeks. Still had to pay for an alignment but I saved about $300 doing it myself. Thanks AM, you Rock.

    I have these with full length sub frame connectors, KYB AGX adjustable shocks and quad shocks with maximum motor sports caster camber plates on my 2000 gt. I'm extremely satisfied, the rides pretty harsh but grips everything possible and is stable at speeds. I must stress that you need to replace the stock shocks when you install these springs..I blew mine in about 3k miles

    Amazing Springs.

    By far one of the best mods for the money. The drop is incredible. When we finally set the car down our jaws dropped. It is an entirely different look for my '96 GT. This is how every mustang should look. I also think it is really worth the money because of the performance you gain from it. Immediately after installing these, I went to a twisty road near my house and took the turns like a Miata. It was effortless. It improved my ride quality and traction over stock, especially on patchy roads. And it really helps control the flex of the convertible during acceleration. Its a difference that you just have to feel for yourself. Bottom line, my GT rides like a completely new car. Responsive, aggressive, effortless, attractive, affordable, amazing. BUY THESE SPRINGS.

    lowering springs

    I have only installed rear springs and new shocks at present due to restoring my mustang and not having all new parts yet to do the front, but the rear sat down real nice. I cant wait to do the front!
