The IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor that comes in the stock factory MAF is perfectly fine for naturally aspirated daily drivers. But in force induction applications like a supercharger or turbocharger the factory MAF sensor housing will become "heat soaked" and the IAT sensor will read much hotter than the actual intake air temperature which can cause power robbing detonation. By relocating the IAT sensor "higher upstream" after the intercooler the ECU will see more accurate temperature readings allowing you to make more power.Ford Motorcraft Quality.
