Flow Path Mufflers. MAC Flow Path Chambered Mufflers feature a patented multi passage design, following Helmholtz's Theory of Tone, to produce a muffler that effectively flows exiting exhaust gases all while maintaining a desirable tone. With no packing that can burn out, Flow Path Mufflers will sound the same mile after mile, year after year.

Ugh, YES.

This is by far my favorite exhaust I have heard on any 4.6L mustang GT. VERY VERY deep, at a nice loud (but not too loud) volume. It does have a pretty bad drone, but I don't mind it at all!!

    Best so far

I have Dynatech long tubes and a catless H pipe. Started with Ford racing Stingers. Next Bassanis. They were great at idle and low RPMs but the drone and volume at WOT were mind numbing. Thes MACs are plenty loud at idle and cruising around but don't blow my ear drums when I'm into the pedal hard. A little drone.I can still hear the blower whine. Couldn't with the Ford Racing and Bassanis. Had to loosen the over axle pipes for proper fitment.

08 Gt/Cs Mac axle back exhaust

Did hours apon hours of research on which mufflers to get, after finally making a decision I certainly made the correct one. The sound is a deeper than stock setup and makes my gt sound like a v8 should sound. Highly recommend these mufflers!

    Great Sound

The install is very easy. We had to loosen up the pipes about mid ways up to get a little more play in order to set them right because the hangers are already mounted on the muffler. The sound is great! It's not as loud as some but has a good low tone.I had a little bit of a drone at first. I experienced a slight rattle sound for about a month after the install around 1700 rpms but that went away fairly quickly. Overall they are great! I would definitely recommend them. Plus they are stainless steel so they don't rust and always look sharp. The only reason I rate them 4 out of 5 is because I somewhat wish they were a bit louder, otherwise they are a 5.

Now This is the way a Mustang GT is Supposed to Sound!

Switching from stock to the MAC axelback exhaust on my 2005 Mustang GT was a no brainer. Stock mufflers are fine for most, but a true muscle car enthusiast knows that your car has to sound just right. These MAC mufflers deliver a serious growl, with a true performance note under throttle. The 4 inch tailpipes look perfect and improve the look over stock significantly. Install was no problem, even for a backyard mechanic like myself. As I expected from my research, there is an interior drone present at low RPM, (about 1800-2000) but it is a small price to pay, considering every other factor. Go for it, and you'll never look back.

The install was not difficult despite not receiving instructions. The difficult part was having to remove the index lug for a proper fit and the supplied band clips were not strong enough so I had to replace them with U-bolt brackets. Overall the install took only 2 hours. The deep aggressive sound is perfect. I rated this item as a 4 only because of the band clips supplied needed to be replaced and not receivivng instructions.

    Good product

Super easy to install took all of an hour to do with me and a buddy. The fit meant isn't exactly the way I wanted to it to look like but I managed to make some adjustments and it looks awesome. The sound is very aggressive you can hear me way before you can see me and all my friends know when I'm coming. The only bad thing is I've noticed surface rust on them already but I just used some chrome polish and they're as good as new. Also if you don't like loud mufflers these are not what you're looking for but if you like that high performance aggressive sound this my friends is for you. Overall I'm very satisfied with these mufflers.

This gave me the exact sound I was looking for. I had flowmasters on before and it sounded like terrible compared to this. It took less than an hour to install. I recommend this to anybody with an 05-09 GT

    Mac Axlebacks

I was torn between these Macs and Flowmaster's American Thunder Classic. I chose Mac, and I love them. Installation was smooth and easy, and they gave exactly the sound I want. It is deeper and louder than stock without being too much. Plus, the polished 4" slash cut tips look great. I couldn't be happier.

    2008 GT/CS

Love em so far...Very Deep Bass sound @ Low RPMs...nice and throaty at mid to High RPMs. If you get these...DO NOT FOLLOW the instructions on the MAC Site...Make sure to take the Hanger Clamps off of your car as you will not be able to unhook your old exhaust and Install the MACs without doing so. Also...They Fit Perfectly without having to adjust the midpipe...I used to have the American Thunder Flows...Now I have the MACs and they are definitely Better!!!

    Classic Sound

These axle-backs sound great, installed this on my 2010 GT no problem. The easiest way to do this is to unbolt all the hangers then un-clamp the factory exhaust. These sound awesome and are just "loud enough" a bit poppy on the downshift which I like, but they do drone a bit.

    Great Product.

Overall excellent product. Got Meineke's to install these on my 05 Mustang V6, and I was very happy with the outcome. Sounds deep without too much rasp or drone (common for v6's), and looks nasty with its 4" chrome tips. I recommend for any dual exhaust, 6 or 8 cyl engine. I will post a video as soon as I make one.

    Great Sound!!

I have the MAC axle-back exhaust and personally I love it! MAC has a real low and raspy sound that other companies cant really compare to. It has a sound that you can tell that somebody is coming, I love hearing other peoples car and honestly unless you MAC nobody will have the same tone that you have and that's what I love, its def a head turner sound and I have the MAC long tube headers and a MAC X-Pipe. Amazing amazing sound quality, I highly highly recommend MAC if you love a v8 rasp!!

    MAC - Hit or miss

Over the years I have had many exhaust combos on my mustangs, this is my first and most likely last experience with MAC. the mufflers would not align properly, even with adjusting the H-Pipe. this could have been to poorly packaged units from mac. I also did have a slight rattle in one muffler that was noticed by others on the forums. If you look at the connection on the mac it does not have an alignment slot (as others DO) this is a problem. they also give you very cheep band clamps... If you like DRONE than this is the exhaust for you... lots of DEEP DEEP DRONE, almost no mustang sound, just a bunch of humming air that is loud and will shake the glasses off the old lady driving next to you... when I was 18 this would be cool but in my early 30's not so much...

    perfect rumble

this was my first investment on my car, and it was completely worth it. my car looks and sounds meaner than the regular stock gt axel backs. install wasnt bad at all, it took me and my dad (im 17, not bad for a first car huh;]) about an hour to do so. and now my 05 gt is right up there with my dads cobra, and i think mine sounds better! MAC Axle-Back Exhaust 100% worth it.

    Most growl for the price

Love this exhaust note. I reviewed a lot of exhausts before making this decision. The only downfall is the drone at 1800-2000 RPM. I've grown to like it but other may find annoying. There are plenty of drone videos to hear it for yourself but as I said before I was extremely happy with the note.

    easy as pie

the axel-back mufflers from mac were the least complicated mufflers to install I've had yet. simple six bolts on and off. loosen the four h-pipe bolts then loosen the two mufflers after having soaked the bolts with WD Forty. twist the pipes loose, twist them out of the muffler...done. slip the muffler out of the hanger and reverse the process.

    Axle back MAC

If you've got LT's and an H-pipe and you're after loud, you've found it. Normal driving/cruising, not bad, but there is drone. The fit is good, the quality is decent but they do look a little on the flimsy side as the case appears to be thin and you can actually tell how it's chambered. But, they are polished stainless, so they do look good!
