Description
Go Wide. Your Cobra's IRS can prevent you from running the width tire you need to get the traction you need. But with a pair of Maximum Motorsports Low Profile Subframe Bolts, you can ditch those wimpy narrow rims and go wide for better launches and more aggressive looks.

Perfect Fit. Maximum Motorsport's Low Profile IRS Subframe Bolts replace the OE bolt with its .5" head with a .35" low-profile bolt and washer. And unlike the factory bolts, they have rounded edges so if they do make contact with your tire they won't damage it.

Bolt-In Installation. These bolts are a direct replacement for your OE subframe bolts, making installation straightforward and hassle-free.

Application. These subframe bolts are designed for the 1999 to 2004 Mustang Cobra with IRS (independent rear suspension). Sold as a set of two.

Ask a Question

Is there just one of these bolts per side on the rear? Since they are sold as a pair I assume you only need 1 set to eliminate the clearance issue when running wider tires?

Put them on my 99 svt cobra so I could use my 17X10.5 wheels. They do the job, not much clearance, but enough. They look like they won't work with the car on stands and the suspension extended. As a matter of fact the tires will touch the bolt heads while you are putting on the wheels, it's OK because when you let the car down the tires will end up out of the way. The Instructions say you may have to jack up the A arm when removing the old bolts, it should say you will have to. Overall it works great and is pretty easy to DIY in your garage.

    Great

Perfect fit and easy installation. If you are going wider in the rear of your 2003 or 2004 SVT Cobra, then these bolts are a must.

    Life saver

I have a 04 cobra , I purchased the 10.5' cobra wheels but they did not fit due to factory irs bolt, I installed this irs bolt I was able to fit the wheels & tires (n555) the only thing is the bolt touched the wheel when it was on the lift but when it was lowered on the ground it fits inside the wheel. Super easy install and no problems with the quality I would suggest lift the car and put it on jack stands then take the jack and raise it enough under the control arm for it to raise the IRS so when you remove the factory bolts the irs won't drop and you can just install the new bolts , the second time i did the install it took half the time , easy way to tell if its raised enough is when the bolt is easily removed

    Works with 17x10.5" wheels and 315 NT05

Easy to install. Torqued to 75lbs. Instructions say to place car on Jack stands and use a jack to move the Sub-Frame for bolt alignment. I tried this and it cost me $300 bucks to fix the pinch weld that buckled. What I ended up doing and it worked much better was jack up the car via the cutout in the pinch weld and then place the jack stand under the Sub-Frame and lower the Sub-Frame onto the jack stand as needed for bolt alignment.

Another great product from Maximum Motorsports

I bought these along with my 17x10.5 wheels and 315x35x17 tires and they are absolutely essential! They bolted in so easily, took only about 10 mins per side and most of that is getting the jack stand under the car!
