I'm a Noob! What is this!? Hi, sorry to bother. What is this? I want it and have read that it doesn't allow oil into the engine but was wondering what this is exactly. I drive a high performance V6 3.8L would I benefit from this product? Thank you!

  • Hi Kbails84...These are generally used on engines with a super charger and they will keep the super chargers from drawing up oil which can get into your intake pheleum and make a gooie mess of it. I'm running a kenny bell super charger on my stang and I have 2 of these oil air filters on my engine. They do an exellent job of catching the excess oil that would other wise be sucked in to the intake passages. I don't think you would benifit from them unless your running a super charger on your car. I hope this helps you out!

Will this fit V6 Mustang? Will this breather tube sit up fit and work well with a 2004 V6 Mustang?

  • Yes, this Moroso Breather Tank has a universal fitment and will work perfectly fine on your '04 V6.

how many ounces can it hold before having to drain it ?

hi, i was wondering if this would be a decent addition to a high mileage car? i have a 06 V6 mustang with over 200,000 miles. it has the basic upgrades (which do not include forced induction) but because of the mileage of my car i was wondering if this would be a good idea to install for longevity sake (minimizing sludge). if not, is there another product or catch can that would be better suited for my needs? thanks.

  • This is a good upgrade if you were looking to minimize your sludge. This will help the car breathe better and last longer. Also, keep in mind that you will want to change the oil appropriately which will also diminish the chance of sludging.

Why does this have some filter at the top? is this a preferred thing for forced induction? most of the user pics show FI, so I asked...

  • Venting to atmosphere will not allow most of the oil vapor to make its way back into the intake track, however, it is considered a slight vacuum leak/opening, and may have oil smell go back into the cabin. The closed vacuum source will allow some oil back into the intake tract, and it will keep a close system.

I have a 2006 V6, how in the world do I install this. I have it drilled in but I have no clue where the hoses go

  • To install the Moroso Universal Aluminum Breather Tank you would need two ended male nipples with a 3/8" fitting on the other side and some hose that connects to the nipples from the catch can on one end. The two other ends of the hose will be routed to the PCV with one hose and one to the intake, on the other hose. If you attach the other to the intake tube and not the intake manifold, just remember to attach it after the MAF, as oil vapor will damage it. You will need some miscellaneous adapters and clamps depending how you install it specifically.

    The best.

Well, so far, so good. This can looks to be a quality product. I like knowing that the sizes of all three ports are big enough for V8"s. I don't know if I could call it "baffled", but there is a tube that goes about halfway down, then there's a stainless pot scrubber in there. Hey, it works. Also, it looked to be too big for my 2011 GT's engine compartment, but it turned out to be exactly the right size. Perfect fit.

A little large, hard to find a spot. Looks great once installed. If you are installing a catch can on your car and you have a roots type supercharger, can must be on the passenger side, found out the hard way.

    Crankcase breather tank

This is for an older 289 with a little too much blow-by past the rings ... and the tank really helps by reducing underhood vapors working into the passenger compartment.

A real Catch Can ! Do not even bother with ebay or other junky catch can.

Great quality , this is made to get the job done. Only thing that would be nicer is if they included some barbed fittings.

    Great breather tank

I bought this tank to catch any oil that would normally enter the motor due to blow by caused by a blower. It has 2 bungs so you can easily route both the drivers side and passenger side (PCV) valve covers to it. This will eliminate any oil getting into your motor. Breather's directly on the valve covers are nice as you don't have to run any hoses to a tank however you get an oil smell and residue around these areas. This is a great way to eliminate that possibility. The only downfall to this tank is that it doesn't come with fittings or hoses. For the price, it's relatively cheap so buying these extras wasn't a huge deal. I did have a tough time finding a 3/8 npt to 5/8 hose fitting. I did find them on Summit Racing and the brand was Gardner-Westcott...really nice fittings but pricey. Overall great tank and I'm happy to be keeping oil out of my new motor!

    Another great product from Moroso

The Quality of the product is spot on. Install is as easy as drilling a couple holes or using self tapping screws. It does its job well and is cheaper then others. All in all Good product.

    really tall

It was dificult to find a location in the engine bay for this. Ended up mounting it in the driver's side fender. Also, the moroso sticker you see on the canister is already on there and taking it off left a lot of glue residue.

    Works well

This product has been around forever, still works as it always has. It is a bit larger than most of the new styles out there, but once installed it adds a touch of old school to your modern muscle. Bold enough to make someone take a second look, if it's subtlety you’re looking for this is not the one you want.

    Catch Can

I bought this tank to use as a catch can on my On3 turbocharged 1989 Mustang. I redrilled and tapped the smallish 3/8 NPT fittings up to 3/4 NPT for better breathing. Works great.

I was set back by the product due to the car having a custom tune of 560Rwhp. I had to close the baffles to get my car to run smooth just making it a standard catch can. Its all good and looks great.

Fits majority, not universal..Mach 1's be advised.

I have a 2004 Mach 1, as other Mach 1 owners know, very little to no room when adding something to the engine bay. With stock Shaker intake and stock Cobra EBS controller I just couldn't find a place to stick this. Even tried a smaller top filter and shortening the bueno. Would of been awesome to have but alas, the Mach 1 sacrifice strikes again.
