  • I applied this to my CDC deck lid and get complements everyday this girl thought I had a Shelby aha ha but they are self adhesive just be sure on the location before application, because 3M is some strong stuff.

Finish can these letters be finished in a black finish? or can they be sanded down to be pained? My GT is grabber orange and I am doing car in all black trim and this would look good in black across the truck.

  • they can be sanded down, will be somewhat time consuming, use a very fine grit and decent primer and you will be good to go.

Has anyone tried using this emblem on their 05-09 Mustang Dash (passenger side/air bag cover) to brighten it up? My dash is black and pretty plain-jane. I was thinking about using these letters (close together) instead of a sticker. I think the "Powered by Ford" emblem would look nice on the 05-09 black dash.

    Good for a custom install!

I purchased this product along with a CDC Rear Deck Lid Trim Panel, expecting to put the letters along the painted portion of the trunklid, just under the third brake light. To my surprise I found that the letters fit perfectly in the ribs of my new deck lid. I measured evenly across the new panel & installed the letters using the stick on tape already applied. It turned out great & I've received many compliments. Thanks AM for a great product.

    Great Look

I have a 2005 black mustang and have a black cdc deck lid panel on the back trunk. The chrome lettering looks great. It brings back the old school look. The installation is a bit tricky. Depending if you want to spread the letters from taillight to tailght or put the letters closer together you have to measure the correct distance needed between each letter to make the letters line up correctly. Other than that all you do is peel the tape behind each letter and hold it down for about a minute and they will stay. Been through several car washes and rainy weather and they all have stayed on. Worth the money.

    Nice Touch

I was concerned about how the letters may fit the 2015's with the curvature of the trunk, and with the fit not listing the 2015. With the price figured I wasn't really losing anything if they didn't work out. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality when I received them! I installed them today, and so far the seem to fit flush against the trunk. I place them where end-to-end the sit right above the inside edge of the tail lights, and spaced the letters about six inches apart. I also installed the GT500 stripes (with a lot of help).... Race red with with race red stripes, then the final touch of the lettering... Really stands out!!! Only reason I might not recommend is because as of now I'm probably the only 2015 GT for miles with the added styling of the chrome lettering, hahaha.

What the 2012 should've come with from the factory

Not much to say about these letters other than they're a breeze to put on and look great. I used 18mm masking tape, lined up the bottom edge of the tape with the bottom edge of the trunk lid, marked off 5" increments from the center line, then positioned each letter on the top edge of the masking tape on each 5" mark. Took about 15 minutes, including cleaning, to install. They look great. All S197 Mustangs should have come from the factory with these letters!
