The stock 1994-1995 GT and Cobra 5.0 Mustangs came with a healthy 215 Horsepower and 285 lb/ft of Torque from the factory, but after installing a Vortech System you will be planting a ground pounding 319 Horsepower and 370 lb/ft of Torque to the pavement. That is 104 more horsepower over stock! Complete Kit. This Vortech Mustang Supercharger System comes with all the required parts needed to upgrade your pony to a snarling beast. The kit features a MSD Ignition system and fuel management upgrades including a high-flow fuel pump, with a fuel management unit (FMU).

Application. This Satin Vortech Supercharger System is specifically designed for use on the 1994-1995 5.0L V8 Mustang GT or SVT Cobra.

Great kit for a beginning build-up, however, had issues with the cobra oil cooler lines and mounting the supercharger. Evidently Vortech did not think about the oil cooler lines for cobras. Great kit

  • Not sure if I understand the question, but I'll give it a shot. The Vortech Systems are specific to the GT or the Cobra. If, for example, you have a Cobra Intake on a GT motor, it's a no-go. In fact, Vortech is very adament that their systems are designed for stock Mustang motors, GT or Cobra. They will work fine with minor mods, such as exhaust or perhaps coil pack upgrades, but beyond that you might be asking for trouble. I would suggest contacting Vortech directly with further questions. They have a great engineering group, and are very accomadating. They were extremely helpful with my install of a Vortech system on a 97 Cobra.

What else is needed? Are there any other parts that are needed that are not included with the blower? such as intercooler, bigger injectors, fuel pump, etc...?

  • You have everything in the kit to make it work. However, I would recommend the following: Boost and fuel pressure gauges, 42 lb injectors, 255lph in-tank fuel pump, a powerpipe, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a 90 mm MAF. With a good dyno tune, the drivability improves drastically, even when you are just cruising. You also get a sizeable HP gain. Find a tuner before you install all of this, as you will have to get a base tune chip so you can drive your car to the shop for the final dyno-tune.

    V3 supercharger install

    i liked that it came with detailed step by step instrutions. the only thing that i disliked was the fact that it is made to work with a stock engine, mine has aftermarket parts on it wich ment i had to modify some of the parts. the install was pretty easy, it can be done with a basic set of hand tools, and a weekend in the garage. the price helped me choose this supercharger. the fact that it also makes good power with this blower as well. all around this supercharger is a good bang for the buck

    Very Pleased

    I put this kit on my 1995 Cobra. The installation went fairly smooth. The only issues were the fact that Vortech does not account for the Cobra external oil cooler and the accessory belt supplied in the kit was too short (picked up 1 size bigger at the local parts store for $20 so not a huge deal). My car has 20K original miles and is fairly stock other than complete exhaust with no cats and an MSD ignition. I did also go 2 heat ranges colder on the spark plugs - the stock plugs were getting blown out by the boost and causing it to cut out. The performance gains are exceptional. I run a 285 Sumitomo tire and can break them loose at any point all the way through 2nd gear. This is a great value and gives a good foundation for future motor upgrades. I haven't got dyno numbers yet but will soon.

    Vortech V3 on 95 Cobra

    The reason I gave 4 stars on fit was because they did not allow for the Cobra factory oil cooler, so you have to kind of figure it out on your own if you choose to keep it. Also, my accessory drive belt was too long for a Cobra. Now that that's out of the way, I highly recommend the blower. No issues at all with any of the brackets. The unit bolted right up. I was done with the install in a day and it was my first time installing a blower. The performance gains advertised on here were very conservative in my experience, and my engine was completely stock. The FMU works great with the T-Rex pump as long as you are positive you still have a FACTORY in-tank pump. If you are not sure, I recommend just upgrading your in-tank and omitting the T-Rex. If you try to run the T-Rex with a bigger than stock in-tank, your fuel pressure will go 100PSI+ (70 is normal under boost). In conclusion; awesome product. Highly recommend!

    V3 install and performance gain.

    First off I would like to say is if your car isn't stock plan on doing a little modify to some parts. As for the performance gain I couldn't be happier I had a mildly built engine and I saw a 140hp gain to the rear. I have to say to the V3 is almost silent I would highly recommend a vortech.
