The Nitto Tire NT555 P245/45ZR17 is a summer-oriented, ultra high-performance street tire that was designed with the performance driver in mind. With one of the largest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling - without sacrificing tread life. Both the tread pattern and the compound were optimized for dry performance. The highly rigid tread blocks provide stability while prolonging tire life. The NT555 will get you off the line quicker in the straights and provide confidence in the corners.
Superior traction and reliable handling. By utilizing a racing concept design, Nitto Tire's engineers developed the NT555 "Extreme ZR". With a specially formulated compound and one of the biggest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling.
Excellent anti-hydroplaning characteristics. The three-circumferential grooves channel water efficiently, while the lateral grooves break up the water wedge. This combination of grooves and channels reduces the chance of hydroplaning. Combined with an increase in tread block rigidity, a high modulus carcass, and hard bead filler, the NT555 delivers total vehicle control under all driving conditions.
Directional tread design. The tread pattern on the Nitto NT555 is designed for high-speed stability and superb cornering performance. High tread block rigidity secures stable contact with the road under all driving conditions.

NOTE: These are extreme ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in far superior traction over “all season” tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures drastically reduces traction and exponentially increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.
