Description
The Nitto Tire NT555 315/35ZR17 is a summer-oriented, ultra high-performance street tire that was designed with the performance driver in mind. With one of the largest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling - without sacrificing tread life. Both the tread pattern and the compound were optimized for dry performance. The highly rigid tread blocks provide stability while prolonging tire life. The NT555 will get you off the line quicker in the straights and provide confidence in the corners.

Superior traction and reliable handling. By utilizing a racing concept design, Nitto Tire's engineers developed the NT555 "Extreme ZR". With a specially formulated compound and one of the biggest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling.

Excellent anti-hydroplaning characteristics. The three-circumferential grooves channel water efficiently, while the lateral grooves break up the water wedge. This combination of grooves and channels reduces the chance of hydroplaning. Combined with an increase in tread block rigidity, a high modulus carcass, and hard bead filler, the NT555 delivers total vehicle control under all driving conditions.

Directional tread design. The tread pattern on the Nitto NT555 is designed for high-speed stability and superb cornering performance. High tread block rigidity secures stable contact with the road under all driving conditions.

5 Year Warranty. This Nitto Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Nitto Warranty disclosure for details.

Best Fit: 17 x 10.5 Inch 1994-2004 Wheels - REAR

Features:
  • High-grip compound delivers superior mobility on both wet and dry surfaces, while ensuring a high level of anti-wear performance
  • W Performance Rated, Treadwear 300, Traction and Temperature A

NOTE: These are extreme ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in far superior traction over “all season” tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures drastically reduces traction and exponentially increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.

  • Yes you should as long as your car is properly aligned and everything is in good shape and doesn't cause wear in one part of the tire.

well these tires are only for the rear so you can only rotate left to right so i dont know how long tread will last

kevgjo Year: 2000 Model: GT

  • These NT555 tires are actually directional tires, meaning they can only be rotated front to back and can't be rotated side to side. Due to the size, you're correct in stating they can only be used in the rear. Therefore, these tires can't actually be rotated. They have an approximate lifetime of 15,000 to 20,000 miles depending on driving style. Hope this helps!

Question Resolved

Can i run this tire on a lowerd 99 gt without it scrubbing on a set of 10 1/2 saleen wheels

SANCTIFIEDTATTOO Year: 1999 Model: GT

  • You can certainly run a 315/35-17 tire with a 17x10.5 wheel on a Mustang that is lowered up to a 2" drop without any issues with rubbing or clearance. As long as your Mustang isn't dropped more than 2 inches, you shouldn't run into any problems!

    Nice set of meats

I bought these tires to go along with a set of 10.5 black Bullitts for the rear of my Mustang and give it that, don't f-beeep with me look. These tires really fill out the wheel wells and have I've had lots of compliments since putting these on my car a month ago.

    Nitto tires

Tires ride smooth and look great. Grip Is as good as nitto drag radials, hopefully the tread last longer. Ride is definetly smoother than nitto drags.

    Great choice

Bought this tire for my 02 mustang. 315/35/17 on rear and 245/45/17 front. Perfect combination. For the money, you can't ask for more. Perfect tire. A little wider than the 315 Sumi and much better traction. Will buy again when the time comes.

    Great tires

Tires look great, I was worried they were to wide for my car ( 1996 v-6 model ). I did need to move the park brake cable bracket, then they fit. Looks great thanks

    Awesome

These tires are huge! I was upgrading from a 245/45/18 and I can really feel the difference. The look is amazing. Also, a big thumbs up to American Muscle for keeping in contact with me while I was ordering a back ordered item. They let me know when they expected it to come in, and when I could expect to have it done. I couldnt have asked for better customer service.

    Best all around Tire!!!

hese tires are straight up WIDE; 315mm = ~12.5" in the rear looks and preforms awesome! Just think the ZR1 and Viper use 335- these aren't that far off. Thankfully I had no rubbing issues at stock hight or with my brand new H&R Super Sport springs. They do stick out of the fender well a little bit but thats no biggie, they will look more "tucked in" with lowering springs like mine did. However as wide as they are they preform GREAT in dry and wet weather!! I live in WA state and it rains a lot here, its now late November and I have no issues driving on city or highway roads. I will say that these are great street tires but if you want to do a lot of drag racing get the NT05R or MT's or Slicks for even better traction
