Description
NT555R. The Nitto 305/35-18 NT555R is a D.O.T.-compliant competition drag radial designed with maximum flexibility for the weekend drag racer. The NT555R combines a high grip compound and semi-racing construction to provide maximum traction at the starting line. The tire comes molded at 6/32 of an inch and features a unique reinforced belt package to provide improved traction and high-speed stability. The NT555R is the perfect performance radial for the street or strip.

DOT approved. Can be run on the street, and deliver up to 15,000 miles of tread life in normal street driving. However, this soft and flexible tread will wear much quicker than tread compounds formulated for regular passenger cars.

Provides maximum traction on the track. NT555R's are manufactured with the original tread depth of 6/32nds” and are constructed with a specially formulated soft racing tread compound to provide maximum traction. High block rigidity, soft compounding and large contact patch provide extreme dry traction in race conditions. Low void ratio and large tread blocks optimize dry traction.

Designed for competition drag racing. The Nitto NT555R is designed primarily for competition drag racing, but is also very popular and exceptional on road courses, track racing, and drifting.

5 Year Warranty. This Nitto Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Nitto Warranty disclosure for details.

Best Fit: 18 x 10 Inch Wheels - REAR Only

Features:
  • Directional tread design
  • Two wide steel belts and two nylon cap plies stabilize tread for superior traction and handling
  • Steel sidewall inserts provide control and stability during extreme lateral acceleration
  • Competition Drag Radial, Treadwear 100, Traction and Temperature A

NOTE: These are DOT street drag radial and racing specific compound and tread tires. They are designed to be used on the drive wheels only of your car during the summer and warm temperature months. For track or drag use, we recommend that they be appropriately "warmed up" before each run.

WARNING: Use during winter months/cold temperatures will result in structural damage leading to catastrophic tire failure!

If I order staggered cobra r 18" with 10" on rear can I put a 305/35/18 on it ? 305/35/18 be to wide for a ten inch wheel? If so how about a 295/35/18?

martinez9228 Year: 2003 Model: Cobra

  • Absolutely! Using the 305/35-18 would fit your '03 without any clearance issues when combined with an 18x10 wheel. Keep in mind however, that size tire will cause your speedometer to be thrown off slightly and will need to be corrected. Hope this helps!

Can i use 17x10.5 bullit wheels with these tires? I'm running 245's in the front and 275's in the back of my '02 GT and was wondering if these 305's would fit without issue. my car is lowered 1.5 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear and I'm running a staggered set up

Gmoney Year: 2002 Model: GT

  • No - this tire is for an 18x10 wheel. A 17" is not compatible. For the 17x10.5 wheel, you could use a 315/35-17 without any problems. Hope this helps.

    Nitto 555R

Tires work great for what they are designed for! I went in expecting 10-12K miles...got over 16K, and could have had more. Handle good in light rain, decent in medium...you have to reay slow down for heavy rain! But they were. Made for that, keep it in mind. Once they're warm they're super sticky, hard to break loose. Overall better than I expected!

    NITTO 555R!!

These are my first Drag Radials on my mustang. I ran BFgoodrich street tires and what a difference. These are great tires to introduce your self to the drag radials world. I drove the car today on light rain and wet road conditions and they did great. Better than i thought after reading many other reviews. Will buy again.

    Better than street

These are decent drag radials but they do not compare to mickey thompsons' of the same size. They are a great entry point into a drag radial coming from a street tire. But if you have a need to hold back some serious power, go with the M/Ts. side note: these tires are slightly wider than the mickey 305/35-18s
