Works fine, only one detail missing in installation instructions

I installed the One Touch Top module - it works fine. Installation was about an hour - it could be less if the installation instructions would be complete. They refered to two cables which are yellow-orange (YE/OG) and violet-orange (CT/OG). In their instructions they didn't show the number on connector C4368B. Especially because they warned about "guessing" colors, I had to figure out which the correct cables were. FYI: YE/OG at C4368B is No 16 VT/OG at C4368Bis No 3

Good product, instructions not so much

Before installing make sure to read all the reviews and suggestions. Below a couple of additional notes from my experience: 1. On my 2013 V6, two colors didn't match the description in the instruction guide. Step A mentions Blue-Orange from PIN 18. However, in my car PIN 18 had a thin BLUE wire instead. Step C mentions Green-Violet wire from PIN 5. However I had a thin GREEN wire in that pin. So it is important to only use the PIN numbers for reference, not the colors as apparently they are not consistent! When in doubt always use the PIN numbers. 2. When programming, make sure to touch the top open/close button VERY QUICKLY, without waiting for the top to do anything. In my case I touched it briefly and the top would open a bit and stop. Ignore this behavior - no matter what the top would be doing, just quickly tap 6 times, and them hold to fully close/open the top. This was super confusing and should be explained better in the guidelines. After dealing with these hiccups, the product works as expected.

Car should have come this way

Great addition, ease of use improvement, adds to luxury feel of the car. Installation was pretty straightforward, but it took a while for me to get the programming of the top up/down right. Also, it took me a while to figure out which connector was A and which was B. I finally realized that connector A is the one that has single wires on each end and connector B has double wires all the way across. I didn't use the wire nuts or the quick-splice fittings, I believe in solder and heat shrink tube. Turned out looking like it came from the factory that way.

Harder to install than it needs to be

This is pretty easy to install IF YOU FOLLOW THE ADVICE IN THE REVIEW COMMENTS that are posted with this product. Hopefully, the manufacturer will update the instructions with some of the hints that have been posted. They include: 1. Ensure that you have the latest instructions. The online version seems to be older than what was sent in the package. Steps "E" and "G" should reference a particular pin-out number to differentiate duplicate colored wires. You will waste a ton of time if you ignore this advice. 2. Remove the entire trunk liner that covers the inside rear quarter panel and wire harness bracket. It's just one bolt and one plastic stud and it's easy to put back in place. 3. Remove the wire harness bracket (4 nuts) from its mount and then disconnect the wire harness. It's easy-out, easy-in. The instructions don't tell you to do this but they should. It takes less than a minute and it greatly simplifies the work. It is actually stupid to do it the other way. I know this because I did this on my first failed attempt. 4. Study the face of each connector (A and B). Use a magnifying glass and plenty of light to identify the tiny pin-out numbers on each corner. They represent the start and end of the pin hole numbers for each row. Just count in from either end to locate the correct wire number. Use this to reconcile your connector configuration with the diagram in the instructions. This particularly applies to steps "E" and "G". 5. The quick splice connectors used in steps "G" and "H" mean that you do NOT have to cut the yellow/grey or black/white wires. They just clip on. Don't ask me how I figured this out. ;-) -Peter

    Read all reviews for hints

I installed this in about 45 minutes because I read "issues" some people had. 1. Fully remove the bracket holding the two connectors. That makes it much easier. 2. The module has some extra time built into it so when you program it, if you're worried about the motors running too long after the top is fully up or fully down, simply reprogram it and release the pushbutton a second sooner. The circuit is basically a programmable timer. 3. When you program it, 6 quick pushes, then on "7th" hold the button until you are fully up or down and release (or slightly sooner as per note 2). 4. Once installed and programmed, it only takes a quick push to trigger it. If you hold the button too long it'll think you're using manual mode. My only "issue"? I've got my belt on and I'm ready to go before the top is down. The other day I drove off before it got all the way down. When you're holding the button the "old" way, you at least know the top isn't down yet.

Awesome product! I have just one area of concern

First, I would like to thank all of the other reviewers that have posted comments and suggestions. They were a great help when I installed mine. It took me 1 hour 15 minutes to install - from opening the box to putting away the tools, including time to take pictures, which are shown above. This is one great mod! Press that button and leave it alone to get other things ready to ride! The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is something I have not seen any comments about. When lowering the top the motors keep churning for 3 seconds after the top is down, and when raising the top, the motors keep running for 2 seconds after the top is completely up. That just has me concerned about how long plastic gears can take that extra strain in the long run. I am presuming they are plastic gears, because most have gone the way of plastic.

Necessay addition for a convertible top

This is an absolute requirement for the convertible top. Its odd that this is not a factory item. It took about 45 min to install as the instructions were very clear. The programing directions were a bit confusing. I could not make out what was meant by -close-down-up-lower. In the end I got it done. Very worth while item.

One-touch convertible top should be standard on Mustang!

Easy to install, and a great low-cost mod. for any '10-'13 Mustand Convertible owner! After installation, programming was a breeze and I love having the one-touch feature now! Makes me wonder why Ford doesn't include this feature on all convertible Mustangs. Well worth the price - highly recommended.

    Quick and easy install

I installed this in about 1 hour. The hardest part was getting everything out of the trunk area since I have the shakker 1000 subwoofers there. Programming was straight forward and I have used the switch all summer long with no problems.

Ford should've put these in from the factory!!!

No brainer for convertibles...I can't imagine why Ford doesn't offer "one touch" operation for the top from the factory. One neat trick this module does is that it starts lowering the top as soon as the windows begin rolling down rather than the oe way where you have to wait for the windows to fully lower before the top begins moving. This shaves a couple seconds of the lowering time. As far as the included instructions go...I'll add the following info and tips: Remove the passenger side trunk liner fully for easier access to the area. The liner is simply held on by one plastic press-in trim retainer and single bolt. The included directions and picture aren't very clear as to where the wiring harnesses are. They are BEHIND the shiny metal bracket which is bolted to the car with 4 nuts on the passenger side trunk wall. It was easiest to just remove the 4 nuts and remove the bracket completely. It's much easier to work with the wiring harnesses this way. The directions don't really tell you how to tell the harness apart. A simple way to tell which harness is which: Harness "A" is the black one and Harness "B" is the gray one. I soldered all the connections and covered them with heat shrink. MUCH more secure and reliable connections this way. One tip for programming once the module is spliced in: When the directions say press 6 times...they mean 6 times quickly. If you pause even briefly between presses it won't program properly. I also installed the one-touch rear window module as well. It to works great. Again, why Ford doesn't install these as oe is beyond me.
