How well will this h pipe work with my slp loudmouth? How well will this h pipe work with my slp loud mouth on my mach 1?

kjbs5

  • This Shorty H-pipe will work perfectly fine with an SLP Loudmouth Catback. However, you could not install this without the Pypes Long Tube Headers as well. This shorty mid-pipe would not be long enough for a shorty header or stock manifold set up. Hope this helps!

Question Resolved

Will this setup fit a 3.9 liter

Ahawks04

  • No because it is designed for the V8 Mustangs. It goes out into a true dual cat-back system and the V6 Mustangs only have 1 exhaust pipe from the cats back.

connection to my headers okay so i have a gt that has been turned into a cobra it has the gt body but has the cobra engine tranny and rear end. so my question is will this h-pipe hook up to my cobra headers.

wiss

  • yes. I did the same thing to my 96 gt and all the exhaust plumbing fits. I did not have a pypes header, however i did get some long tubes for my car. Then 96-98 cobras and gt are the same body with minor changes to the shell of the car. however this will not affect it

Will these work with Pypes Long Tube Headers? I'm looking at going with pypes long tube headers but I'm curious if this will fit those headers. I noticed the pypes headers have 3" collectors and recommend the 2.5" pypes x pipe but doesn't recommend the 2.5" h pipe. Need to know if these will bolt up to pypes long tubes.

Will this H-Pipe fit my 2003 SVT Cobra with longtube headers?..I think all the midpipe are the same (GT,Cobra,Mach1) if you have longtube. Right ?

MaxSimoneau

  • This Pypes Off-Road H-pipe is designed to only work with the 1996 to 2004 Mustang GTs only. I would recommend purchasing the same brand mid pipe as the long tube headers that you have.

    Just the sound I wanted

I paired these with the stock cat back and this is exactly the way these mustangs should sound. Install is fairly simple (with the right tools). The passenger side off the manifold is the tightest area to work in and you need the perfect size deepwell socket to fit (if slightly to deep you cannot fit flush thus the old bolt will not come off), we wound up getting a new one and it was fine. The only thing they dont tell you is if mating to the factory catback you need longer bolts. I assume most dont run into this because they pair to an aftermarket set. Other that that install was straight forward and was well worth the price. Fit was excellent.

    Good for the price....

I have BBK LT\'s, and a Borla catback. Paired with this ORH it sounds great! Very aggressive when you get on it, and low burbling sound at idle. I felt a definite increase in power compared to the BBK catted H I had on previously.

Great Midpipe with Racecar Exhaust Sounx

I installed a pair of BBK long tube headers with this h pipe. This was about $30 cheaper then BBK h pipe and read that pretty much all mid pipes were universally same length. After a little finessing, a friend and I finally got these installed in about 1.5 hours. It required my friend to push my mufflers outward to get the mid pipe to bolt to the headers directly. While I did add long tube headers as well, my car went from a very deep muscle car rumble to a loud Racecar sound. I'm not sure my flowmasters are holding up to the extra air flow but I'm in the middle about the noise. While I do miss the deep muscle car rumble, I really like the new loud racecarish sound it produces. While I think $130 might be a bit expensive for a mid pipe, it was the cheapest on American muscle and i would definitely recommend this to a friend

    Fitment

Good product and had a nice sound to it. The only problem is the fitment for the outlets leak a little bit. This is my second h pipe from pypes and both have done the same thing. I still recommend the product without a doubt just do some adjusting.

    This product sounds awesome.

Product fits perfect with the pypes long tube headers and sounds awesome. Its best to get the whole exhaust system done at a shop, that way if you have problems with it, you don't have to deal with the headache of the installation. I am very pleased with the shorty H-pipe and the perfect fit. I wound recommend this product any day.

Gives you that growl without being raspy

The h-pipe bolted up nicely to the Mac longtube headers and helped compliment the pypes pype bomb exhaust. It helped it keep a good rumble at idle and a great growl when getting in it. No raspiness heard here.
