An Honest and Thorough Review
I will be 100 honest - I tried to install myself and the notorious passenger side cat. bolt was so rusted that it was impossible to break with my hand tools. I then took it to a shop for them to install, and the OEM cat. clamps are un-salvageable (luckily I had spares from my axleback install, otherwise they are 50$ each from Ford). Hard to believe Pypes wouldn't include new clamps. This pipe does not exactly fit perfectly and the guys had to eventually weld it into place to create a seal. Do yourself a favor and take it to a shop. 2/5 stars for fitment.
Now once things were finally sealed into place, the real beauty of this thing hit me. It sounds like a Ferrari at anything over 4k RPM, and I'm dead serious. I installed an Airaid Race CAI and a BAMA tune the same day, so it most likely is a combination of all 3 upgrades. However, on my way home from the shop (before I installed the CAI/tune), I definitely noticed a difference in torque - and the way the engine was able to breathe. I am absolutely in LOVE with the higher pitched, raspy, purr that emanates from the throat of this X pipe. It literally sounds and feels like a different car. 5/5 for sound and performance gain.
And finally, what I like most about this product is that even with the cats deleted (I still have my resonators), it isn't obnoxiously loud. Only on cold morning startups and when I punch it does it sound like a demon (again, dead serious). But once the engine is warm and at idle, this thing is hardly louder than stock. No drone on the highway whatsoever.
