Would it work for a v6 with a gt cat back? Hi I already have a full borla dual cat back on my sixer. But when I bought it I just had an h-pipe goin off the cats then bolting to the cat back. I kinda wanna go catless so I was wondering if this would work on my car running from the stock manifold to the borla catback?

GreyShot

  • No this will not work. The flanges to bolt to your exhaust manifold are not the same as the 4.6 engines.

Does this bolt on or weld to your factory header pipes? And does it weld or bolt to Flowmaster 40 mufflers?

ek03

  • This is a complete bolt on to your factory cat back. The stock mufflers, unless damaged, sound really good. Keep them and save the money. The Flowmasters would need to be welded in and you would have to do that yourself (or put them on before install of the H pipe), as no muffler shop will touch a car without cats on it.

    great sound!

Great sound and awesome fitment on 03 mustang gt with a cobra swap. Only thing wasnt a fan of were the clamps. There's minor exhaust leaks which aren't all that noticeable but are there. Sound even better with the flowmaster super 10.

Pypes H pipe with Borla mufflers

I had many people tell me to go with Bassani. I started lokking at the Pypes on here and reading the feedback. I had a friend with a lift install them on my 2000 Saleen SC and it took about 30-45 minutes. I was anxious to hear how it was going to sound with the Borla mufflers because I've always been a Flowmaster person. The sound it great! Its not to loud but just right. It is a deep muscle car sound and I couldnt be happier. The install was a walk in the park and as stated above, the car sounds great. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone. If you have a Saleen with the Borla mufflers than forget Bassani and go with the Pypes! Don't forget the mil sensors. I hope this helps!

    Pypes off road H

Everything about this H pipe is great. Getting old H pipe off is worst thing about the install. If I hadn't had to soak my bolts and wait, install would have been an hour. Only drawback I could find is that there are no bolts sent to attach the new H pipe to the mufflers. ?? Quick trip to the hardware store fixed this but you'd think they would be included. Car sounds great, nice rumble. Thanks AM!

    Imports will fear the thunder!

I installed this bad boy in about an hour... Then started it up... I think the world may have stopped during that initial start, the. Heavens may have sang, and the ocean roared to match the note that emanated from the 4.6L ford engine. Zeus came down from his throne, just to shake my hand. What a great price for a great buy, thanks AM!

    Pypes Off-Road H Pipe

So i replaced my stock exhaust with the Pypes O/R H Pipe with Violator Mufflers and i have never heard another mustang with this sound, it tops all my friends stangs with flowmaster 10 and 40 series and there x pipes. The throaty rumble this exhaust puts out has earned itself a perfect 5 star, although it does have a quiet idle once you step on the gas its no longer quiet i recommend this exhaust to everyone who likes the old muscle car rumble, thanks AM for an amazing investment

Great sound, few snags in the install

The finished product sounds amazing, nice deep rumble. The difference from the stock pipes to these is night and day. The reason it took me all day to install is because one of the O2 sensor holes on the pipes had not been threaded. It caused a massive headache for me and my friend, had to find a muffle shop that was open and able to fix the problem. Kind of shows badly on quality control for Pypes but still sounds amazing.

    That perfect exhaust note !

This exhaust is exactly what you want. The x pipe is to raspy and annoying but this h pipe gives you the perfect note. Nice deep rumble with no raspy high end noise. I would recomend this exhasut to anyone looking to free up some extra HP ! I did feel a mid range gain with this mid pipe.

    H-pipe

I had these pipes on in about 2 hours, make sure you use plenty of PB blaster on the bolts and getting them off is not to bad. The pipes look great and came strait to my door in 3 days, thanks AM. Now to the down side, when I put these on I had a pretty bad miss and drove it for about 15 miles like that but when I got home I took the battery cable off and bam it was gone. Even with the miss gone my mustang seems a little weaker on the low end probably due to the lack of back presser because my exhaust is dumped before the axle but up top she screems and everything else is stock on my GT. The best part about the H-pipe is when you turn the key and start it up a nice rumble comes over the land. Wish my stand was deeper but most of the deepness stays under the car, really wish I had pipes that went all the way out the back. I suggest if your are thinking about dumping your exhaust put this on and then see what your pony sounds like.

    Pypes O/R H-pipe

I bought this for my 2004 GT with flowmaster 40s already on the car. I absolutely love the sound. I used to have a 2007 GT with the pypes o/r X and also flow 40s. That sounded good as well but now having the H I have to say it is my favorite. It gives off a more distinct low muscle growl vs. the exotic more high pitch sound the X produces. I had a shop install because when I went to do it I rounded off one of the nuts at the manifold. The install ended up costing 180 and was done in about 2 hours or less. The only compliant I have is if you have a 2004 you HAVE you buy O2 extensions. Nowhere I could see on here did it say you needed them and didn't know until I got the pipe. Cheapest I could find was on here for 30 bucks. All in all a great product. Eventually I will upgrade to the Borla ATAK cat-back. But that's another story. If you are on the fence...don't be. Buy now and enjoy the sounds a mustang should make.

    H pipe sound great

Got to hate Chicago weather though header bolts were so rusted they snapped off and had to spend 6 hours getting the threads out but the installation was easy after that. Sounds way better then the x pipe. I've been getting compliments from people driving camaro's, srts, mustangs. It sounds real good at high rpm!

    Super Loud and amazing!!!

It took a while to take off my old stock pipes, also we needed a new longer bolt which did not come with the exhaust. Once everything was installed, it sounded amazing! I have it installed with Borla Atack.. and it sounds super loud and agressive. I love it!

    Pypes Off-road H Pipe.

If you're looking to severely beef up your stock or mostly stock GT, than this is what you want. The sound difference between this and the standard h pipe you get from the factory is no comparison. You turn the key and immediately hear a whole new, beefed up tone in your stang. The power gains weren't massive but I noticeable without a doubt, more so in mid-higher RPM's. I personally paired this with my flowmaster super 44's and the sound is just fantastic, I also recomend getting the MIL Eliminators. Also, buy a new gasket for the passenger side intake manifold (stock header) otherwise you'll more than likely have an exhaust leak. Install is a breeze once you get past the stock h pipe. What I did was contact a local shop, had them break the bolts loose, then went home to finish on my own. You will run into trouble unless you either A) take the starter off or B) have a ratchet set with a swivel. Took me maybe two hours and that has shop time included with the right tools. I guarantee if you like a nice clean muscle sound, and not that raspy Bs that an X Pipe gives you than this is what you want. I'd recomend to anyone and everyone looking at this with question. The only problem with this, is if your car is lowered like mine, and with how much lower this H-pipe sets, you'll need to be careful leaving an inclined driveway. Other than that, it's awesome.
