HTR Z. The HTR Z Series is Sumitomo's Ultra High Performance summer tire. The aggressively designed 315/35-17 tire delivers confident performance in either wet or dry conditions, both on and off the track.

Superb Wet Grip & Traction. Sumitomo HTR Z Performance Tires feature a directional offset V tread pattern that literally plows water out of the way.

Excellent Anti-hydroplaning. Four, deep, wide circumferential tread grooves provide excellent anti-hydroplaning performance.

Enhanced Steering Response. Large angular shoulder blocks provide enhanced steering response and overall dry grip. A solid center rib helps delivers directional stability even in the most heavily grooved highways.

Sidewall Stiffeners. Improved steering response and overall handling without sacrificing ride comfort. In addition to excellent performance, the HTR Z series tires deliver a smooth ride with minimal road noise.

5 Year Warranty. This Sumitomo Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Sumitomo Warranty disclosure for details.

Best Fit: 17 x 10.5 Inch 1994-2004 Wheels - REAR

  • Excellent handling characteristics at high speeds, and superb wet and dry traction
  • Triple Tread Radius Provides optimum performance footprint for maximum traction
  • Center Rib Enhances straight-line stability

NOTE: These are ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in superior traction over "all season" tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures significantly reduces traction and increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.

Too much tire noise!

The 245 I have on the front aren't the problem, but the 315s in the rear give off so much tire noise I feel like I'm riding in an airplane when I drive my 1999 Cobra Vert with the top up. I didn't get ...

Longevity compared to Nitto555's Hello, I'm looking at a set of new rear tires for my 2004 GT, I drive about 100miles a day and the tires lasting is rather important to and I currently have Sumi 315/35/17's on the rear at the moment and have been pretty happy with them. They do have a little road noise to them but not totally sure if thats due to the tread being really wore down at this point, turn the tunes up and no more noise ;) I have had them on the back close to a year and half and have been very pleased, but being that the drivers rear has a plug in it due to a flat many months ago... really needing this corrected and been very lucky with them. But was curious how the Nitto's hold up compared to the Sumi's, I have been very pleased with them thus far so just trying to compare apples to apples. Not sure if the Nittos' are designed with more of a soft compound and not last very long compared to the Sumi's. So just trying to the best bang for the buck... no money tree here!

  • Being that longevity is definitely your main concern and for such a large tire, you will want to stick with the Sumitomo rather than switch to the NT555's. Reason being exactly what you already stated: Nitto's have a softer compound and while they offer a bit more performance over the Sumitomo, they don't last quiet as long in the grand scheme of things. Hope this helped to verify your already accurate thoughts!!

I have 18 inch rims..... So these tires are really enticing, except I have 18 inch rims (as stated in the title) ad idk if they'll fit. I'm a tire noob, don't hate.

  • Unfortunately these tires won't be compatible with 18" wheels, only 17". You'll need to purchase a tire that ends with -18 and the tire size would really depend on the specific wheel size: whether it be 18x8 or 18x9 etc... Give our customer service a call at your earliest convenience. They'd be more than happy to help you pick out the perfect tires for your needs!

How are they when the road is wet? How do these tires do on a wet road, if its pouring the rain down?

  • They are a great tire for the wet roads considering how much tire is on the surface.Have'nt had any issues driving under wet conditions.

Will i have to buy something to fix my speedo. Mine is a 98 model I have a 1998 v6. Will this mess with what my speedometer reads?

  • The 315/35-17 is almost 26" in diameter as your factory size tire is also, so this should not change the reading of your spedometer significantly.

The 245 I have on the front aren't the problem, but the 315s in the rear give off so much tire noise I feel like I'm riding in an airplane when I drive my 1999 Cobra Vert with the top up. I didn't get the tire noise until about 1.5k miles on driving on them. I am hoping it goes away, and will update if it does.

    They are tires.

I have these on my wifes 06 Mustang and they work well and are very affordable. I have not had them long enough to determine life span but they cost 1/2 what others cost so who cares.

    Best price for 315 series

I've had these 315/35/17 tires for 16,000 miles now and they have just a little under half their tread left. I drive very aggressive and considering they're the cheapest tire on the market in this size, they're holding up amazingly. They are priced right considering the free shipping and look forward to buying two more in this size in the near future.

    Great cheap tire.

Excellent tire for the money. Grabs well, but also cut loose when you want them to. The second set I've had on my Bullitt. I will buy these again.

    For the $$$

The tires are just as advertised. These look good, and match up well with the Goodyears I have on the front. Traction isn't a problem on wet pavement, and the overall handling on the turns is greatly improved. For the money there a great buy.

I put 315/35/17 on the rear of my 2003 Mustang Mach1 because I read reviews saying they'd help with traction. Wrong! These tires spin as bad as the factory gatorbacks. Having said that, they do feel very stable, may have improved cornering, and don't seem to have added any noise. The ride has suffered a bit, however. If you want a cheap 315/35 tire, this is probably it, but don't expect performance improvement.

Great Tires for a low price

The tires are great for the roads and they don't wear out quick. I live in south Louisiana and the tires handle our roads and our back roads fine. The price for the tires are also very cheap and helps me out with being a college student. if your looking for a good tire at a low price, these tires are good to buy.

    the perfect tires!

had nitto 555 drag radials before. these dont hook as well, but they are not drags. they do hook excellent on hot ground. in the cold the have a spin or two then hook and go! even in the rain they still hook up great i have 300rwhpand do get on it pretty hard from time to time and they are wearing great. should get about 30-35k out of them. would recommend these over any other 315 tire. they are much much cheaper then nittos and hook better.

For the price it makes for a great run around tire. The tire itself looks pretty decent. Sadly this tire likes to spin....... ALOT! my 00 GT is only mildly modded(3.73's, chipped, headers, Intake) and even trying to bog it, i spin like crazy. so do not plan any Dig racing with these. lol Tires have lasted no more then 15K which is okay considering they are a summer tire and i do drive aggressively. So in all, If you want to hook up, look away, for a decent everyday street tire, this is your tire! thanks again AM!

    Great tires

Good tires for the price. Hook up better than stock. Tread wear not bad. Really nothing bad to say about them. Look killer, ricers always messing with me because they are fat. Make the car look mean!
