Description
Eliminates Body Flex. Subframe connectors are one of the first modifications that should be done to any uni-body vehicle. A set of SR Performance subframe connectors will add structural integrity to stop power robbing chassis flex and improve responsiveness and handling.

Bolt-on Design. This is the only 100% bolt on Mustang subframe connector that bolts to the engine k-member up front and to the lower control arm bolt and torque box in the rear. And for additional strength these connectors also attach to the seat mounting bolts.

Made In The USA. Fabricated in the USA from chromoly tubing, this SR Performance Mustang subframe connector is completed in a powder coated finish for durability and corrosion resistance. All required hardware is included for a simple bolt-in installation.

Application. These SR Performance Bolt-On Mustang Sub Frame Connectors fit all 1979 to 1998 Ford Mustangs, including the LX, V6, GT and SVT Cobra models.

These things look much nicer and robust in person, the quality is evident as soon as you take them out of the box, welds are nice, etc. Are these worth almost the 3x the cost of full length weld ins?,

Perfect for those who want a subframe connector that works but don't want to weld.

Just installed these S&W bolt-on subframe connectors on my 86GT convertible. I now have zero cowl shake, almost no rattles, and my actual suspension is soaking up the bumps instead of the body absorbing them! They bolted right to the rear lower control arm and lower torque box, the front seat bolts, and the rear of the k member. They sit tight to the chassis so almost no ground clearance lost. They even clear the front cross braces and front rocker reinforcements (only on convertibles). I did have to trim the rear rocker panel reinforcements slightly (doesn't mention it in instructions) but wasn't that hard (as long as you have a rivet tool capable of using 1/4" rivets -got one from harbor freight for $20) If you have a hatch or notchback than these will bolt right up with no modification at all! These don't bolt to the frame rails like the so-so bbk connectors (wich you have to drill and the holes usually stretch over time). If you don't want to weld, and you want a real good set of subframe connectors, get these-they work! I have seen these used on a 11 second fox body t-top car a while back and the owner swore by em!

    Quality

These things look much nicer and robust in person, the quality is evident as soon as you take them out of the box, welds are nice, etc. Are these worth almost the 3x the cost of full length weld ins?, well yes and no. I guess it depends but I have no regrets trying these. Installation is straight forward and the only difficulties were coming from the car itself such as rusty bolts and I had to "massage" a few things on the drivers side for clearance and bolt alignment. Have a couple extra jacks and a rubber mallet handy. I weighed one and it was around 13.5lbs, about 4lbs heavier than weld ins by my estimation. The only thing I wish these had would be an extra tab on the long tubing that would bolt to the rear of the front subframe, I guess the manufacturer decided it wasn't needed.

    best mod

The sub frame connectors are heavy duty feeling. Nice welds and powder coat on them. Fit my car with no issues. The only thing is the price is high but I didn't want the weld in for my car and these were the best looking bolt in I could find.

    More Stiffer and no welding

I choose the S&W full lengh frame connector because no welding is necessary and I want to let the chassis original. The installation is very simple, just bolt-on to the K-member, seat bolts and torque box at the rear. My only complaint is the rear plate didn't fit exactly on the torque box. I must cut 1/4 in the lower plate for clearence with the torque box tab. Also four 3/8 x 1" bolt was included to fix the middle connection to the seat but I bought four longer bolts 3/8 x 1 1/4" to have more threads. On the road the chassis is really more stiff.
