The 5th generation Mustangs grabbed my interest again just as the TV commercials did in 1964 when, as an 8 year old kid, I got my first glimpse of this new car and fell in love with the Mustang model family. Sad to say, as the 2nd generation Mustangs rolled out in 1974, the 70's gas crisis and Federal mandates dramatically altered, (is killed off a better description?) the muscle car era as we know it, and my interest faded. But it was reborn as the 05’s hit the lots! I had to have one, but waited until the GT/CS version really got my attention. Not having deep enough pockets at the time for a Shelby or GT500 or KR, the CS package hinted at Shelby styling with the same appearance package on the front and rear end. Eventually, I could put some mods on, to bring its performance and appearance up several notches. For a stock car, it still gets its fair share of head turning on the street.
Have kept it stock for the last two riding seasons, but now that's about to change! We live in the northeast, so it's garaged in November before the snow and road salt arrives, and taken out in the spring once all the salt has been washed away and snow melted. 7,500 miles on it so far. Definitely not a daily driver! Take it out for fun, cruise the beaches, cruise nights and special occasions.
Thanks American Muscle! Your website is the best Mustang resource I've seen on the web by far! Great pricing, free shipping, awesome selection, tons of product information and the customer pictures section, along with seeing the parts I'm interested in purchasing installed on the same generation and often same color Mustang has been a tremendous help to me. |
