1987 Mustang Overview

The 1987 Mustang dropped the SVO line, and got rid of the v6 engine. It was one of Ford's most successful Mustang years with 159,415 Mustangs produced that year.

In 1986 the Mustang also went through a redesign giving it a much more aerodynamic look. The 1987 Mustang also welcomed the addition of fuel injection, which would then become prominent with the Mustang line. It also received E7 heads and brand new intake manifolds, which upped the Mustangs horsepower to 225 and gave the Mustang a total of 300ft-lbf of torque. Back to top
