Description
Improves Horsepower. This Cold Air Intake kit completely replaces the stock factory air box and restrictive paper filter element in your 2005- 2009 V6 Mustang with a high flow filter assembly for a noticeable increase in horsepower and throttle response, while filtering out destructive power-robbing dust particles. This CAI pulls cooler, denser air from inside the inner fender well to make more power that you can feel.

No Tune Required. Unlike other Cold Air Intakes on the market for the 2005-2010 V6 mustangs the BBK CAI does not require a computer re-tune. The engineers at BBK really did their homework to improve your pony's power using the stock factory tune.

Reusable Filter. BBK designed their high flow cotton air filter to be reusable, so there's no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Chrome Finish. The BBK CAI not only improves your pony's horsepower and acceleration, but improves your Mustang's under hood appearance with a beautiful bright chrome finish. You'll be sure to attract attention at all the car shows with this jewel under the hood.

Easy Install. The BBK Cold Air Intake kit was designed to install easily with basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for the installation. All parts and instructions are included.

Ask a Question

does this fit onto the 70mm throttle body?

mustangnewbie Year: 2007 Model: V6

  • Yes it will fit. You will need the sleeve that connects the cold air intake piping onto the throttle body itself. It is a very quick and easy instally.

What is the best way to clean the filter? Should I use an air nozzle to blow it out or rinse it with a water hose? I guess I just buy some spray on air filter oil at the parts house after to re-oil?

Torched Year: 2008 Model: V6

  • There is a lot of debate amount car enthusiasts about the proper way to clean a filter. If you over spray it with oil, you can damage the mass air flow sensor, and cause the engine light to come on. If you simply hose it out, it will not completely clean the filter. In my shop, I take the customers air filter, blow it out with a air hose, very lightly oil it, then rinse low pressure water through it. Hope I helped :)

    remember to...

Please please please read the instal directions carefully before you instal. i see lots of people saying there check engine light came on, yes it will if you do not remove the positive battery cable before installation as with any change you make to your mustang (or any car for that matter). and if you do that the computer will reset, recalculate, and tune the engine for the new airflow perfectly. which will result in a slight increase in HP and mpg. the only problem i had was when my engine idles cold the heat shield on the intake rattles, just but some of the cushion shielding on the bottom of the shield and it solved it right up. this product is great, don't pay attention to those who do not read instructions, make sure and read them and follow them and the product will work perfectly.

    Great Product and Buy

Couldn't be happier. From box to car, everything needed was included and fit perfectly. Screws for the MAF ran in just fine. The engine light will be thrown if you don't disconnect the battery for 30 mins and the reset the computer as per the user manual. My car threw it until I reset the computer and now it's as happy as it can be, even with a dual exhaust! Overall, great product for a great price. Well worth everything for a quick bolt-on mod!

    Excellent Upgrade

I recently purchased this for my 2005 V6. I was skeptical after reading some of these reviews saying that you'll need a tuner else you'd run into problems. Personally, this is the only mechanical upgrade I have on my Mustang, and I have not had any problems with it. I can definitely notice the difference in my acceleration and power. When I first backed out of my drive way, put it in drive and pulled off, I was surprised and shocked. There was no more "delay" in the acceleration. At the bottom of the instructions that are included, it gives you a heads up about the possibility of running lean. So far, my baby is running perfect. If you're questioning it: don't. It's an awesome upgrade for something so simple.

    Amazing Product for the Price!

All manuals, hardware, etc. came with this item. The MAFS screws were included and FIT the sensor hole on the new pipe. I didn't have to use my stock screws. If you go to BBK's website, they have an excellent video on the installation procedure. Very easy to install. I know it's been mentioned many times, but make sure you disconnect the Neg terminal from the battery before you install this item. Some of you have had the check engine light come on, but make sure to the hose and MAFS sensor are installed, seated properly. Also the hose clamps for the air filter as well as the blue rubber coupling that attatches the chrome tube to the TB. The suction sound when you get on the throttle sounds great and you can still hear the whine sound from the TB. Mine has been installed for a week now and no Check Engine light has come so far. I have noticed about 2 mpg increase so far. Would highly recommend!

    Piece of Cake

I installed it in my 2010 V6, took about 20 minutes. There was nothing to it. Easy instructions to follow. I had no codes or problems. Next to install is the magnaflow catback system I ordered. Turning my V6 into a sleeper all thanks to AM.

    Cool Cold Air

Great looking. Installed in about 45 min., make sure to disconnect your battery during instalation so the computer "re-learns" your driving habits and adjusts to the intake. No codes thrown and it looks great. Cool little whine sound above 3200 RPMs. Excellent value for the money.

    Low End Power

Looks and sounds great, quality is top-notch, some power gains, most noticeable through 1st and 2nd gear, as well as top gear acceleration.

    Satisfied

I have had the CAI installed for about 3 weeks now. I did disconect the negative battery terminal but got an engine light anyway. This continued for 3 more times despite disconecting the terminal for as much as two hours. The light was comming on after I had acclerated on the highway with the pedal all the way down. The last time what I did was give the computer time to catch up by accelerating at a more gradual rate and driving at various speeds. The engine light has not come on since I did this.Last night I acellerated to the MAX and it stayed off. I was suprised by the dramatic improvement in performance both in throttle response and apparent Brake horse power and rear wheel torque. Next comes the true duals and the Flash tuner will follow. I hope this helps someone that may have similar problems.

    You can feel it.

I put this on my 2006 v6 auto mustang. Despite having doubts, I can notice quite a difference. My friend who helped me install it after I hit it the first time remarked that he didn't remember my car kicking his head into the seat that violently. I just ordered a tuner with a tune for it and expect that will help a lot too. 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1. The installation instructions were poor and lacked enough pictures. 2. The surround ought to come already molded onto the metal tray...I had to cut it and its not as pretty as it would be in one piece. My tips and things to help you install. 1. The clamp that holds the filter onto the tube should be inside the metal tray, I kept trying to put it on outside of it and it would just slip down over the MAF. 2. when removing the radiator cover, the little plungers are confusing. You need to take a screw driver and pop out the center piece and then remove the other part, put it back in by placing the holder in first the pushing in the center piece. 3. Make sure the MAF flow arrow is going the right way.
