This Mustang Parts Installation Guide Works For

These headers were designed for use in the installation of Ford’s2011 5.0LCoyote engine into Mustangs from 1986-2004. These headers were prototyped on a 1990 Mustang with a MaximumMotorsports front crossmember but they will also work with stock crossmembers.
STEP 1 | Raise vehicle up and support with sturdy jackstands. |
STEP 2 | Start on passenger side. Remove starter. Header has room to reinstall starter after installation. |
STEP 3 | Remove motor mount stud nuts from both sides and jack engine up. Move engine to passenger side slightly. |
STEP 4 | Feed passenger header in and onto engine from below. Position on head and install a bolt to hold in place. |
STEP 5 | Install gasket and supplied bolts to finish. Reinstall starter. |
STEP 6 | Lower engine down and loosely install the passenger side motor mount stud nut. Jack engine back up and it will pivot toward the passenger side. |
STEP 7 | Disconnect steering shaft at rack and pinion and set out of the way. |
STEP 8 | Feed driver side header in from below also. Then up onto the head. Install bolt to hold in place. |
STEP 9 | Install gasket and supplied bolts to finish. |
STEP 10 | Lower engine back down, reinstall driver side nut and tighten motor mount stud nuts both sides. |
STEP 11 | Reinstall steering shaft, tighten bolts. |

O2 sensor extension wires have been provided for the front sensors. There is a supplied plug in the hardware kit for the extra O2 sensor bung in the driver side collector. The bung is for connecting a wideband tuning probe. |
