"Plug and play". When your modify your exhaust system, sometimes the stock O2 sensor harness just comes up too short to connect the O2 sensors, but this SR Performance harness extension kit will help bridge the gap.

Great for modified exhaust systems. If your stock wiring harness is too short to connect your existing O2 sensors to a new set of headers or a mid pipe, don't just leave the old wires dangling - because your car just won't pass inspection. Instead use a set of 18" O2 Sensor Extensions to make the connection a snap.

  • Sold as a set of two.
  • Kit includes two harnesses extensions, measuring 18" each.
  • For all 86 - 09 exhaust system configurations.
  • O2 sensors NOT included.
  • Intended for use to extend to upstream O2 sensors; however, can be used upstream or downstream if needed.

Note: Removal of directional tabs on connector ends may be required for proper fitment on some applications.

Review & Install Video

So you just installed a new set of long tube headers or an aftermarket midpipe, and now your factory O2 sensor harness is a little too short. If that sounds like you, this O2 sensor extension kit is your solution. This kit for your ’86-’09 Mustang includes two harnesses that extend both your primary and secondary O2 sensor wires by 18 inches. That should be enough to bridge the gap between your factory O2 sensors and your factory harness. The great thing about this kit is that it’s completely plug and play, so there’s no need to hack up your factory harness in order to extend your wires. It’s a very straightforward install that should take you no more than a few minutes. If you’re pumped to install that new off-road x-pipe, or that new set of headers, only to find that your O2 sensors no longer fit, this kit will solve that problem easily without breaking the bank.

Bassani off road x pipe for 07 gt, how many o2 sensor extensions do i need?

I have an Off Road X-Pipe, So I need the MIL Eliminators as well. In 2004, they made some changes to the exhaust for emissions and changed the sensor locations. So I need these extensions, but I also need the MIL Eliminator's, is there anyway I can use these AND the eliminators? Or do they make extended MIL Eliminators?

  • YES, You can use the extension kit with MIL Eliminators.

2 or 4 Sensors? Hello Do I need 2 Extension or 4 when installing a JBA Long Tube Header? Thanks

  • You should only need two for the rear O2 sensors. Typically those are the ones that are relocated further back when you modify your exhaust. Stock front wiring is usually long enough to accommodate slight O2 installation variations.

Do I need these if I have shorty headers?

  • You should not need these. I have shorty headers and a BBK Xpipe and mine fit up just fine. The shorty headers to the Xpipe are about "stock" length.

I didnt see anything for 2010? Will these work for a 2010 v6 ? I have longtube headers

  • The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit - Pair (86-09 All) will not work for a 2010 v6. With the new body style of 2010 and up we do not carry O2 extensions for these years.

Question Resolved

Hi, Would this O2 Sensor Extension kit work on a Mustang Bassani Catalytic X-Pipe for Automatic Stainless (99-04)? Or does American muscle have other O2 Sensors that would be better fitted for that Bassani Catted X-Pipe? Thank you.

  • The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit - Pair (86-09 All) will work with any Mustang between 86-09. As long as your Mustang falls under this requirement, these will work with your Bassani exhaust.

    They Work

I installed these with my new O2 sensors on an 04 GT and haven't had any issues with them at all. I only needed the drivers side with my UPR catted x and it plugged right into the sensor after trimming the little plastic "studs" on the sensor. Pretty simple install and easy to zip tie to the chassis and get out of the way.

    Excellent perfect fit

Used on my 1992 f150. Put on new headers and exhaust and needed extra length to reach original plug. Just what the doctor ordered.

Needs a "how these work" instructional sheet.

These really need a set of instructions instructions outlining how these work exactly to ensure correct installation.

    Only works after alteration

The keys on the plug and receptacle do not line up with the corresponding plugs from the car. You have to cut off the little plastic keys in order to make it fit. It's not hard to do, but it may catch you off guard if you are not anticipating it. After you cut them off the pins line up just fine, and the clip still holds the plug together. So it does work.

Nice. Fits perfectly, but the passanger side extension was to long, so I had to tie part of the wire to the underbody.

    O2 Sensor Extenders

I needed these after installing my MAC long tube headers, these extenders in addition to the longer wires on the NTK O2 sensors give you PLENTY of wire to work with, just what I needed. Everything plugged together with no problems and I tucked the extra wire out of the way with some zip ties.

    o2 Extensions for Headers

The two ends and slot on each sensor extension were the same asymetrical. The two ends and slots on the o2 sensors that plug into the header are symterical. I guess ill have to grind of part of the sensor or exension to make it fit...

    Is what it is

I had shop install exhaust today and I bought the Pypes off road X-Pipe and you need these. Once I got the x pipe it said 24" O2 sensor extensions but I already had these in so I figured i'd see if they would work and he said they did. So had no problems. Great product!

    necessity for long tubes

these are generic enough that they work for pretty much all years but you may have to nip an alignment pin off to make it work. I had to, but it won't impact how it aligns or clips.

    BBK o2 extension

I ordered these and prompty recieved them. They came to my work no problem, and I put them in the following weekend. No problems or codes have been thrown since installing them. I did have to shave off a tab that was on them, to get the connector to fit to my stock 02 snesors, but other than that, it worked flawlessly. I have ordered before from American Muscle, and I have NEVER been dissapoointed. They sell great products, and prices are just right. I would reccomend not on the procduct, but buy from American Muscle.

    o2 Extensions

I got an off road h from JEGS and they so happened to put the o2 sensor bungs significantly further downstream than the sock pipe. Bought these extensions and the problem was solved.

Good product but didn\'t fit my 94 GT. It has two alignment pins and the clip. One of the alignment pins didn\'t line up, not even close. I had to cut them off the extender side and the o2 harness. Works great after the slight modification.

"Plug and Play" should read "Trim, Plug, and Play"

I purchased two pairs of these to help in the complete replacement of the exhaust on my 2003 V6 Ford Mustang. I'm extremely glad I got them, as not only did it make the installation much easier, but with one of the rear sensors it was a necessity. The only trick is the key tabs on the extensions appeared to be mirrored from where they needed to be, so they had to be trimmed off with a pocket knife while I was on my back under the car. They seemed to fit perfectly after the slight modification, but it would certainly be handy if they were right out of the box.

    Do the job

They work good and are a good quality. The keyways did not match up to my 01 GT though, so I had to cut the keys off the extender connectors and the new O2 sensors.
