Hey what’s up everyone I’m Justin with and I’m taking a look at a set of these super clean, smoked OEM style headlights for your 99-04 Mustang. These lights are the exact same style lights used on the 2001 Cobras and are a great way to update the tired and worn out headlights on your New Edge Mustang. The headlights feature a subtle smoked lens and a black housing for a more aggressive appearance, they’re also built to factory specs to ensure perfect fitment. The kit does include dual element 9007 bulbs, but we here at AmericanMuscle recommend upgrading to a higher quality bulb from either Raxiom or Sylvania for optimum performance and best night time visibility. Install is a breeze and should take you no more than 2 hours using basic hand tools. Now when installing a new set of headlights we always like to recommend that you take the time to make sure they’re aimed properly, to make sure you’re getting the best vision possible, without blinding oncoming traffic. If you need any help with this you can always reference the install video located on this page. So if the lights in your New Edge Mustang could use a little TLC, and you’re a big fan of the OEM styling, then you’ll really enjoy a set of these smoked OE style replacement headlights.

Does this match Raxiom Smoked Taillights? Don't really want the halo lights because they're a little expensive and I don't think I'd like the look.

  • Yes it definitely does. They are next on my list to buy. I already bought the sequential taillights and the relay to slow them down. Cant wait to see them in smoked taillights.

Silicon sealing?? I have read several reviews that say with this type of lens you have to seal it with silicone yourself to keep moisture out. Is this true? or can you take them from box right to install no mess?

  • You can always seal them if you'd really like to, you won't hurt anything. None of our headlights require sealing though. You can pull them right out of the box and install them on your car without any moisture issues.

I have had these headlights for over a year, however they have only seen about 4 months of road time. Unfortunately there is a film on the exterior of the headlamp in lieu of the interior. This film once it chipped begins to peal away and looks awful. Since I purchased these over a year ago the warranty was void, however I was given the option from AM to purchase a new set???

Fits 90% as good as stock

Driver's side went in fine but the rear braces wouldn't go in without serious pressure, something the OEm's didn't require. The bulb holder is a different style than OEM, which isn't a problem but it was loose fitting rather than tight. Passenger side rear braces slid right into place but the headlight itself took some effort to match up. It had a scratch inside the unit, weirdly enough. Not something you can see without turning the lights on first, or I would have seen it right out of the box.

    Really Dark

Was not expecting these to be as dark as they are, however I still really like them. Easy install, they fit pretty good. You may want to get bright bulbs, even on high beams its not very bright.

    smoked Mustang Headlights

Cosmetically these look great but obviously made in Taiwan and not to Ford specifications. The projected beam pattern is inconsistent with the other side and both are more like flood lights rather than keeping the light on the road in front of me. I would NOT settle for anything less than OEM next time.

    Great look

Took care of the weathered look, now I have these great head turners. My ride gets more and more aggressive with each mod that goes on. Thanks again, again, and again for these wonderful products.

Look great, but not good for rural night use

I installed these a week ago. They were easy to install and they really look amazing! What I don't like is that even running with brights on full time, they are don't pass much light at all, and low beams are almost useless. For driving around town these lenses are fine, but I don't rural driving, or speeds much over 55. I'll keep these, but they will be for show use only.

    Darker than the photos

They are darker than they appeared in the phoitos online. I do not see why I should have to silicone them to keep moisture out, if it needs to be done it should be done at the factory. The original headlights had vent tubes to keep them dry inside.

As dark as you would ever have to go.

I just put this on my car and I must say they look amazing! I did notice that they were not properly sealed. I had to buy sealant and seal the headlights. I do have H.I.D.S. so I didn't need to buy a brighter bulb. If you do choose to buy these lights know that you will need a extremly bright bulb.

Glad I Didn't go Dark Smoke

Installed these lights today and they were in within 30 minutes. They really look great but as mentioned previously they are a little darker than the picture leads on to believe. For this reason I'm glad I didn't pick up the Dark Smoked Headlights. Night Visibility is okay with these as long as they are properly aligned. Overall another great upgrade for your stang.
