Do i need caster camber plates and are the alignment specs the same as stock?

JtS

  • Since this will lower your Mustang 1.8"-2.0" I would recommend purchasing caster/camber plates as the new center of gravity will cause your tires to unevenly wear. As for the alignment specs, please contact a trusted mechanic for further information.

I'm gonna run a tube k fame without spring pockets do the front struts come as pictured cause in the customer pictures I didn't see anyone mounting the front springs on the struts and can that be done with these?

LittleBenny

  • The front struts will not mount to the springs. The springs for this system will mount to the front lower control arms instead.

With this system is it recommended to replace bushings and/or control arms, or will stock parts run fine with the system?

rory3x

  • Replacing worn bushings or control arms is always recommended however stock components will operate just fine.

would i need to use spring isolators for this kit?

Which castercamber plates are recommended for this suspension kit?

Louie

  • Any one of the caster camber plates we sell would fit with the Eibach Sport-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Coupe, 99-04 V6 Convertible). However I would recommend the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates (94-04 GT, V6, Mach 1; 94-01 Cobra). These plates will be one of the best ones we carry.

What issues would there be with install on a 98 v6 'vert? Are there other kits or options recommended instead? Thanks!

JS27

  • The Eibach Sport-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Coupe, 99-04 V6 Convertible) is a pretty extreme kit with a significant drop. If you wanted to get something less extreme you would get the Eibach Pro-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Coupe, 99-04 V6 Convertible) (Item #387368) and you can find that here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-prosystem-9404.html However regardless of which one you go with, when you lower you Mustang it is very possible you will need a set of caster camber plates in order to help adjust the alignment of your front wheels. Needing a re-alignment is not a guarantee, and every Mustang reacts differently, but it is more than like that you will need them.

Be aware that when you replace 19 year old suspension and steering. The car isnt the seem in any way. Its like driving a brand new car but better. Not only did i put this system on. But a load of other such as AGR rack n pinion, new wheel hubs, borgeson steering shaft, steeda balljoint and bump steer kit, energy suspension front lower control arm bushing, caster and camber plates, and new steering wheel setup. And thats just the front. Paired with new tires. This thing eats corners. If you stance Paired with amazing performance. This is the best thing a can buy outside of coilovers. Keep in mind i put a weekend but it took me 7 month and that includes the front and rear suspension along with my other thing, doing it in my spair time by myself. With having no experience of any kind. I did more research than anything.

Solid buy to bring an old pony new life

I was back and forth between the SR coilovers and this kit. The SR's were out of stock so I spent a bit more on these and overall, well worth it. Installed on an 04 GT with 150k miles on the stock suspension. Install: Kit was installed on the ground, no lift access. If you're doing JUST the kit, install is straight forward. Having a 2nd pair of hands isn't necessary but makes things easier. Directions on what to reuse from stock(specifically for the rear shocks) are lacking HOWEVER, if you have any semblance of mechanical knowhow, you should be able to figure it out. Overall project included this kit, steeda bumpsteer kit, x2 ball joints, rear upper and lower control arms, and the SR caster camber plates. The total time I selected was excluding all the other components as with everything, it was a full weekend. The rear lower control arms were a nightmare to remove(bolts were corroded solid in the bushings). If you are only doing this kit, should be an estimated 6-8 hours(less with a lift). Ride: Stiff but fine for a DD. The sway bars included in this kit are easily double the thickness/strength of stock. Body roll is nonexistant in comparison to stock. I think the only thing I may add is a set of FLSFC. Curves specifically can be take much more aggressively with confidence. The front end doesn't dance around anymore and even on 'econo' tires the rearend bites like it is meant to. Drop: Overall drop is /-2" in the rear and about 2.25-2.5" in the front(I also installed the x2 ball joints). If you're just using this kit, I'm certain the listed drop numbers are close to spot on. Overall summary: I'm glad I went with the Eibach kit and will happily buy in the future. The price, while about 100 bucks more than the SR coilovers, gets you more(sway bars and such) and a quality product. Car handles like a track car and has the stance to match.

    Great product

I desperately needed new springs my car had a horrible lean from a previous owners attempts to lower it. I look forward to driving my car everyday. This is a great step up for my daily driver. If you need new suspension this is the way to go. I love the new improved look over the old stock look. I would highly recommend this product.

Makes the car like it's on rails!

The difference in handling that I gained from this kit is out of this world! The car races around corners like a world class machine. The ride is firm but fairly compliant and better than stock! If you want to take your Mustang to the next level, don't get everything individually; buy this kit, set your alignment and enjoy! 10/10! Thanks AM!

Install guide on the way :)

this product is great! i had really bad suspension before and it corrected the geometry of the car! it does drop the advertised 2 inches if not more! Me and a friend installed it in a day, however we had no experience doing it before. I could see it being very difficult for someone without access to a lift but the proper tools make it easy to install. try to get the car at least 2 feet off the ground and you should be good. Almost no body roll, lowered but does drive smooth, and cheaper than piecing a suspension kit together. don't spend $300+ for someone to install it for you, its very doable, and ill be posting a install guide soon, hopefully AM takes it :) my car is a 99 v6 w/ swapped 96 cobra engine n drive train.

    Eibach!

I just got done installing this kit on my 95 GT. It was pretty straight foward and easy to install. Could be done in a full day but I replaced ball joints and ran into a unknown bent a arm, so thats why I said a weekend. If you have air tools or a lift it would make it easier. I did it in my driveway with basic hand tools. Overall a excellent product for a excellent price. If your car has high miles I would suggest replacing spring isolaters. I also replaced ball joints, and tie rods while everything was off. If you're on the edge about buying this kit BUY it!

    I love this kit

Recommend Caster camber plates with this kit. After install it had 1.7 camber on the left and 1.8 on the right. My car drives straight as an arrow and rides better than I thought. I did expect the kit to give me a full 2in drop but more like 1.7. looks so good happy with my purchase. would highly recommend. Handles like a mustang should.

    Excellent look and handling!!

I work at a drag racing Fabrication shop, I work these types of products all day and I love Eibach products they are true quality! I also did a few other welding modifications to the suspension. A bump steer kit is required for a good ride. I recommend this kit for anyone who is serious about customizing their SN95 model mustang for true performance!

    • Response from AmericanMuscle

I'm unsure of what parts you were missing. This kit should ship complete with everything that's needed for installation. The front shocks should not be popping driving over bumps either. Eibach does have a warranty for their products. If your struts are defective, they would be able to replace them for you. I'd recommend giving them a call to have this sorted out. If you need any further assistance, simply give us a call. We'd be happy to help!

    Must Buy

Springs are easy to install. No need for any special tools. did take a full day when it was installed. American muscle doesnt havent an exact guide on how to do it, at the time, but informtation from other guides can be applied for the most part. One major problem. One of the rear struts was defective straight out of the box. I lasted about one day until it was completely useless. It was bound up internally and wouldnt budge really so it was making a really loud squeaking noise. So I called Eibach then drove to their facility in Corona had it tested. Proved to be defective. Same part back in three days got it in the same day. Eibach also did not take any responsibility for defective part but they did rebuild it. Rides low handles great.

    Eibach sport-system plus is great!!!

This system is awesome! My mustang feels so much "stiffer" but not in a negative way. It just races around corners with no problem and minimal roll thanks to the sway bars. The shocks and struts are good kind of have to get used to the feeling of bumps since its dropped now cause of the springs but it's not uncomfortable. I recommend this products if you're looking to get shocks, struts, or springs done. If bought separately would be past 1000. Sways are 300, shocks and struts are 475 and springs are past 200. This kit is a steal at 900 go for it!

    Worth it

Got the sway bars on myself and they were a huge pain without a lift. Had my go to shop install the rest and took them about a day. You can immediately feel the difference once you get in it and start driving. Worth the effort.
