Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with these Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, that are available for a wide range of Mustangs, from 1979 all the way up to the S550 Mustang. These caster camber plates are going to be a good option for those Mustang owners out there that have lowered their Mustang with a drop of more than one and a half inches and would like to gain some alignment adjustability from a brand that's highly reputable for its quality and performance. Lowering your car is going to change the geometry of the suspension, which is what's going to create the need for an alignment in order to keep everything in spec and proper. Because the factory plates only have so much adjustment, aftermarket caster camber plates like these ones here, are better at dialing in alignment specs, so they're going to have benefits like more consistent steering and better steering response, especially if you have suspension upgrades already. Tires are obviously going to wear better when the car's properly aligned, and another little plus here of the caster camber plates is the fact that you can actually dial in your suspension for a particular track or demand, depending on what you're planning on doing with your Mustang. Looking at these on the table here, these are a set for the 2015 and up Mustang, so they're going to look a little different than the traditional caster camber plates that you may be used to seeing, but as the chassis and suspension change throughout the different gens, the style of the plates change too, so just make sure that you're shopping in the correct gen for your car. Like I said in the beginning, Maximum Motorsports has created plates for all Fox Body through S550 Mustangs with the same features. All of these plates have Teflon-lined, spherical bearings and they're all powder-coated black, and have a two-plate design, which separates the caster and the camber adjustment. This allows for caster or camber to be adjusted independently. You don't see the two-plate design in all caster camber plate options that are out there, so this is definitely a nice touch. And it's definitely worth mentioning here that these plates are capable of the largest continuous range of alignment settings possible. So because Maximum Motorsports is known for quality and performance, and because these plates have features like the ones that I just mentioned, they're at a premium price point. They tend to be one of the higher priced options on the site, usually costing between $200 and $400, depending on which gen you're shopping for. And just as a side note, these plates might not work with all coilover setups, but those instances are noted on the product pages, so just keep an eye out. Installing these plates is a little time consuming, but I wouldn't consider it a difficult install, even for the handful of guys out there that are going to have to do some drilling for these, and I'm talking to you '94 to '04 guys. You're going to at least want a jack and some stands, and the plates do come with detailed install instructions to help you through if you haven't done this before. No matter which gen you have, you're probably looking at about a few hours to complete the install and I'll call this a two on our scale. And just remember that you should take your car for an alignment after the install. Wrapping things up here, if you've lowered your Mustang or you're looking for some extra alignment adjustability, then Maximum Motorsports has a highly-engineered, high-quality and performance-proven set of caster camber plates for you to check out no matter what year your Mustang is. Feel free to check these out more for yourself and see what others are saying, or see if they're for you. And for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Perfect Alignment. Getting the correct alignment on a lowered Mustang with the limited stock caster and camber settings can be a nightmare. But you can wake up from that nightmare with a set of Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates. Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates have twice the range of motion of the stock parts, allowing you to dial in your alignment perfectly. They will even allow the use of the factory dust cover.

Double Adjustable. Maximum Motorsports designed their Caster Camber plates to be double adjustable. These plates feature separate adjusting slots to change the caster or the camber independent of one another.

Superior Materials. These Caster Camber Plates are constructed from durable TIG welded steel for extra strength and feature spherical bearings that allow for a greater range of motion without binding, unlike old fashioned urethane bushing. These plates are completed in a durable black powdercoat finish for long lasting protection.

Application. The Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates are designed to fit all 1994 to 2004 V6 and V8 Mustangs, excluding the 2003-2004 SVT Cobra.

I'm doing a coyote swap in my 2003 GT, and part of what I need is a set of spherical bearing style caster/camber plates. Would these be an acceptable part for that?

Mitch

  • The Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates would be acceptable for this use, with a very sturdy bearing and plate design.

  • These caster camber plates will work with the Eibach Pro-Street-S coil-over kit number 3510.710, but you will need an adapter kit in addition to the camber caster plates to make it work, MM P/N: 5.1018K

H&R super sport Will these plates allow enough adjustment if I was to install the H&R super sport springs?

  • Yes, these plates will get you back in alignment. I have this setup on my 02 GT (MM caster /camber kit with H&R SS) and the alignment shop was impressed with the quality of the MM kit. They got me back in spec and I've had no issues.

When I went to install these plates, I thought they would be hard to install but I was wrong. The hardest part was drilling the extra hole but other than that they were very easy to install. Great product and I do recommend them to anyone looking to dress up their Stang under the hood and also have the ability to make adjustments the way they want.

    Awesome!

Extremely high quality. Very detailed and easy to follow instructions. Took no time at all to install. The hardest part was drilling the 4th bolt hole, but marking it was simple. The garage said it was the easiest alignment they had ever done. I just eyeballed it before I took it in and the caster and camber was already almost spot on! Combined with a new set of Tokico HP struts and shocks and Ford C springs it handles like a completely new car. I had them set 5 degrees of positive caster and it handles like a train on tracks now. Just hold the wheel straight and it stays in the center of the lane like it should. At my normal highway speed of 75 MPH it is rock solid. The fastest I've gone on my cheap tires was 90 and it was great there too. Felt like 50. The only downside to the increased caster is it takes slightly more effort to turn at low speed (while parking and such) and the wheel does not straighten itself out as fast after turning, but this is WELL worth it for the improvement in high speed handling. While these are pricey it is worth the upgrade even if you aren't slamming your stang. Fast shipping and excellent service from AM as always!

    just get it

Install is straight forward, Keep this in mind you will need a drill with a half inch chuck or a 13/32 bit that is tapered to fit in a standard 3/8 drill chuck! Other then that there doing there job.

    Must have for Lowered cars

Just purchased these along with the Eibach Lowering springs. They were about the toughest thing I have ever had to install on my car. The directions work for you up to a certain extent but could be more detailed in my opinion. I can't recommend installing this yourself if your not the regular do it yourselfer because these can be a headache to install correctly. Last of all make sure you get the front end aligned professionally. I set the caster/camber near perfectly but my toe in was out after all of it. As usual Thanks AM

    Excellent Product

Easily installed with the excellent included instructions. With lowering springs and factory plates the car was twichy on uneven roads. With the MM plates and their recommended setting for the alignment, there is not one bit of twich.

    OMG

Holy S---! I've had my stang lowered since 2001, and never bought/installed C.C. plates. I went through tires prematurely. I knew better and should've bought some years ago. I don't know why I waited so long. The improvement on the ride is almost stock. Granted I do have the longer balljoints and bumpsteer kit from Steeda, but this kit, added the extra comfort. No more premature tire wear, or steering wheel trying to fight which direction to go. GET THIS KIT. Install was about 2 hrs and a breeze to do by yourself. Thanks AM

Great product recommend it to everyone with a lowered mustang. Just when you go get your wheels aligned make sure you know who you are going with. Some shops will just take your money and dont know what they are doing.

    Night and Day Difference!

Install time took me total 2hrs and that's with doing the alignment, my buddy has his own shop. I had to drill an extra hole on both sides but other than that, this job was a very easy install. This is a must if your car is lowered past an inch. The handling is tighter for sure! I could tell the difference while I was backing off the alignment rack! AM only stocks the best for your Stang. If I have a want or need for my Stang, I check here first and 9.5X of 10 it's my only stop!

    Great for lowered mustangs

I bought these along with the H&R Super Sport lowering springs (review also done- perfect look, great handling). After doing a few weeks of research I decided to add these to my order when I placed it. Car is stock other than some 275/40/17 Front and 315/35/17 Rear tires and the springs mentioned above. I don't think they are 100% necessary as i had an alignment done after install, but greatly improved the alignment before i went in; the only thing that was off was the Toe- and all me and my buddy did was eyeball it. Even though they aren't 100% needed I'd strongly recommend them! They took my friend and I only a couple hours to install these and another couple of hours for the springs. You will NEED to drill a 4th hole in the strut tower (not a big deal)- you can make a template based off of the parts it came with. Other than that the Fitment of the parts together is perfect!!! I would suggest that you buy new struts/ shocks at the same time if you haven't already. That way you don't have to dissemble everything again, I unfortunately couldn't due to budget but will be getting some Bilstien HD's soon. I have heard that Maximum Motorsport is a great brand and I can see why, all of my future parts will come from them if possible- lower control arms, strut tower brace, etc... They are built for each car with knowledge and precision and great quality!

    decent

decent quality but the alignment was easily maxed out. although all my figures were in the green it still didn't align nearly as well as I hoped it would. I ended up getting the steeda cambers and with a 1.75" drop in the front the alignment was near perfect. I would say these cambers should be the minimum quality you should buy but I recommend the steeda ones.

    Huge Improvement

If you have lowered your car, get these camber/caster plates. These bring the tires back in spec and provide the correct amount of droop travel adjustability for your shocks which the stock plates do not allow. My car is lowered on Ford Racing B springs. I have the Tokico HP's, and following the guidance in the install guide, set them up as the stock ride hieght shock configuration (orientation of spacers - 2 large 1 small under the main plate, and 1 spacer on top of the main plate). For all other shocks, this will be reversed if your car is lowered. This is a great kit, go buy it.

    MM CC Plates A+++

These just about fell into the car. The instructions were very clear and there was no real challange at all. One hole is drilled on each strut tower and it was easy to locate. I had the 03 Mach 1 aligned to MM specs for street and went to test how it worked with my lower springs and urethane swaybar bushings/end links as I will be auto-xing the car this year. Awesome, with neutral/no throttle the front tires bite hard and will start to understeer just as the rear lets go. A little more throttle gets the front to grab again and oversteer thru the turn. The stock adjustments would never allow this setup and agressive cornering grip. This is a must have mod IMO and any other Mustang I build will have aset of MM CC plates installed ASAP! P.S. AM had the best price I could find and even with standard shipping I had them at my door the next day. Couldn't be happier overall!
