    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with these Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, that are available for a wide range of Mustangs, from 1979 all the way up to the S550 Mustang. These caster camber plates are going to be a good option for those Mustang owners out there that have lowered their Mustang with a drop of more than one and a half inches and would like to gain some alignment adjustability from a brand that's highly reputable for its quality and performance. Lowering your car is going to change the geometry of the suspension, which is what's going to create the need for an alignment in order to keep everything in spec and proper. Because the factory plates only have so much adjustment, aftermarket caster camber plates like these ones here, are better at dialing in alignment specs, so they're going to have benefits like more consistent steering and better steering response, especially if you have suspension upgrades already. Tires are obviously going to wear better when the car's properly aligned, and another little plus here of the caster camber plates is the fact that you can actually dial in your suspension for a particular track or demand, depending on what you're planning on doing with your Mustang. Looking at these on the table here, these are a set for the 2015 and up Mustang, so they're going to look a little different than the traditional caster camber plates that you may be used to seeing, but as the chassis and suspension change throughout the different gens, the style of the plates change too, so just make sure that you're shopping in the correct gen for your car. Like I said in the beginning, Maximum Motorsports has created plates for all Fox Body through S550 Mustangs with the same features. All of these plates have Teflon-lined, spherical bearings and they're all powder-coated black, and have a two-plate design, which separates the caster and the camber adjustment. This allows for caster or camber to be adjusted independently. You don't see the two-plate design in all caster camber plate options that are out there, so this is definitely a nice touch. And it's definitely worth mentioning here that these plates are capable of the largest continuous range of alignment settings possible. So because Maximum Motorsports is known for quality and performance, and because these plates have features like the ones that I just mentioned, they're at a premium price point. They tend to be one of the higher priced options on the site, usually costing between $200 and $400, depending on which gen you're shopping for. And just as a side note, these plates might not work with all coilover setups, but those instances are noted on the product pages, so just keep an eye out. Installing these plates is a little time consuming, but I wouldn't consider it a difficult install, even for the handful of guys out there that are going to have to do some drilling for these, and I'm talking to you '94 to '04 guys. You're going to at least want a jack and some stands, and the plates do come with detailed install instructions to help you through if you haven't done this before. No matter which gen you have, you're probably looking at about a few hours to complete the install and I'll call this a two on our scale. And just remember that you should take your car for an alignment after the install. Wrapping things up here, if you've lowered your Mustang or you're looking for some extra alignment adjustability, then Maximum Motorsports has a highly-engineered, high-quality and performance-proven set of caster camber plates for you to check out no matter what year your Mustang is. Feel free to check these out more for yourself and see what others are saying, or see if they're for you. And for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Perfect Alignment. Getting the correct alignment on a lowered Mustang with the limited stock caster and camber settings can be a nightmare. But you can wake up from that nightmare with a set of Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates. Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates have twice the range of motion of the stock parts, allowing you to dial in your alignment perfectly. They will even allow the use of the factory dust cover.

Double Adjustable. Maximum Motorsports designed their Caster Camber plates to be double adjustable. These plates feature separate adjusting slots to change the caster or the camber independent of one another.

Superior Materials. These Caster Camber Plates are constructed from durable TIG welded steel for extra strength and feature spherical bearings that allow for a greater range of motion without binding, unlike old fashioned urethane bushing. These plates are completed in a durable black powdercoat finish for long lasting protection.

Application. The Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates are designed to fit all 1994 to 2004 V6 and V8 Mustangs, excluding the 2003-2004 SVT Cobra.

Will these work with BC coil overs?

    clinkatron

    • The Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates are designed to work with the OEM suspension setup. Since we do not carry BC Coil overs, we are unable to confirm fitment with the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, however if your coil overs can be used with OEM strut mounts or caster camber plates designed for stock suspension, you should not have an issue.

I'm doing a coyote swap in my 2003 GT, and part of what I need is a set of spherical bearing style caster/camber plates. Would these be an acceptable part for that?

    Mitch

    • The Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates would be acceptable for this use, with a very sturdy bearing and plate design.

    • These caster/camber plates will not be needed with the ST coilover kit as the ST coilover kit already comes with its own caster/camber plates.

You might need to order 2 more washers from MM

I bought these along with the MM roadandtrack springs. I didn’t notice much of a drop but the ride quality is much more firm and responsive. These MM caster/camber plates were a bit confusing to instal with the DIY drill your strut tower at your own risk. Everything installed nice and smooth except toward the end I noticed there was still about 1/4 inch gap between the spacers and the strut bolt. If there was another 2 spacers included it would have worked perfectly but I had to rig it up with some spacer washers from Home Depot. Kind of ruins the look of them but it’s the quickest solution unless you spend another 9.99 plus shipping from MM to order a spacer kit. The harder at part of this whole instal was getting the stock dust cover to slide over the MM bumpstop..

      Huge improvement over base setup

Nothing much done yet to my stock 2002 v6 convertible other then subframe connectors. Put these on with a set of mild lowering springs and had the alignment shop put things where i wanted. Car turns in great now and had loads of confidence on corner exit under throttle. Must have for any mustang.

      Well-made, excellent modification

Came with detailed instructions, and these are very well crafted. Installation was pretty quick. Top plate just barely clears the add-on strut brace on my car, so you might want to notch the the gusset on the brace. Definitely corrects the negative camber I had with the shorter springs my car has. Buy or borrow an impact wrench for the strut nuts, and pay attention to the instructions.

      Exactly what my car needed

I have a 1999 Mustang GT that has been lowered. I was having issues with tire wear because I couldn't get camber in spec. After installing these caster camber plates, I was able to get camber in spec and have no more tire wear issues. Also, go with Maximum Motorsports caster recommendations. Made a big improvement in the handling. These do require you to drill a 4th hole in the strut tower. But that's a good thing because without it, the top of the strut is actually outside the triangle formed by the three factory holes. Adding the 4th hole gives the upper strut mount a good solid base. I would recommend these to anyone. Not just to get a lowered Mustangs caster and camber in spec, but to any Mustang owner. Being able to adjust caster and camber makes a big improvement in the handling of your Mustang. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

      Great value

Fantastic, easy and installation and now have full range of adjustment. I have an Eibach suspension with bump steer and had another manufacturers Caster Camber plates. I could not get the camber dialed in 100 with those so bought the MM set. What a difference! Well worth the money and look good under the hood.

      Great Plates!

I originally had the SR Performance plates, but I couldn't really get all the adjustments I wanted. Since with these MM plates you can invert them to get a negative or positive based alignment I can now have the adjustments I always wanted.

      Well engineered

Well engineered, well made, extremely adjustable. Well worth the investment. My car had been hit and well repaired, with the right tower out of spec. Since all the body panels were aligned and the paint was perfect, I elected to not have the body shop attempt to spec the tower. The caster camber plates did the trick allowing for the alignment shop to align her perfectly. A great investment.
