More Power. By replacing your restrictive stock single exhaust with a Dual Exhaust System and X-Pipe, you'll uncork the power genie for more horsepower, torque and a throatier exhaust note.

Quality Construction. Constructed from durable Aluminized 409 stainless steel for it's corrosion resistant properties, the Ford Racing V6 Performance Dual Exhaust kit includes the same exact mufflers that were used as standard equipment on the 2008 Bullitt Mustang. The mufflers feature 3.5" diameter polished 304 stainless steel tips for cool retro muscle car looks.

Fitment. This Ford Racing Dual Cat-Back Exhaust System is designed to fit the 2005-2009 4.0L V6 Mustangs and includes an X-Pipe for both more power and a more aggressive sound.

Technical Note. Installation requires minor modification of rear bumper cover for the tips to exit correctly; a template is included in kit.

Is this ford system 50 state CARB certified ?

why exactly won't this fit on the 2010 mustang? I heard it's a mounting issue.


  • The 2010 changed body shape and style slightly and with that the mounting points are not in the same place as well as the length of the tubes are also different.

I have a 2007 Mustang with a single Exhaust and Muffler.. I'm looking at changing to the Ford Racing True Dual Exhaust (05-09 V6). my question is. Will I need a second Catalytic converter, or will this work with the existing set up from the single pipe exhaust system. are any other parts required. Thank you

    Barely louder than stock, but...

    It's barely louder than stock, but it definitely feels faster. I wish they had included the GTA mufflers, as they sound better. But at least it makes her go. I'd give a 3, but the jump in power makes up for it.

    Holy Balls Batman

    Ordered this exhaust for my '05 V6 last week and I was surprised how quickly it arrived. It arrived in less then a week and was very well packaged. I had it installed at a shop for $200 because I wanted it welded in instead of clamped but I did the cut outs myself and those were much more difficult to line up then I expected. The instructions and the lines on the template aren't that clear. Printing a fresh, color copy of the instructions from the Ford Racing website helped but the templates were still not very clear as to the positioning. However, after getting the kit installed, holy balls Batman. As others have noted, the system isn't any louder then the stock system but what it is is ballsier. And those balls aren't just figurative either. I was surprised at just how much the stock system choked the life out of the V6. The throttle response is instantaneous now. No more waiting for the engine to come alive when you bury your foot. Now she's alive and just waiting for the go juice. If you're looking to start your mods I'd highly recommend starting right here and working your way forward. You have to have someplace for all that extra flow to go before you can feed more air and fuel down her throat.

    Love it

    looks great but not loud

    It looks great, but not loud at all. If you want loud this is not what you're looking for. It's louder than stock and what you do hear sounds great but IMO it's not loud at all. No drone at all either. I did notice right away it added some horsies, nothing dramatic, but a few. I also noticed a very slight gain in MPG, nothing huge there either less than 1 MPG but, it's something

    Ford racing mufflers

    With air raid air filter and Bama x four tuner, I feel a lot more power touching the gas, more pick up and go, haven't went no place yet to tell difference of gas mileage, but it has to be better than what it was, less sluggish I'm gas pedal, so Its not working as hard to get up and go.

    Best looking,sounding, and preforming exhaust

    best v6 convo kit on this site, sounds great and looks great,the bumper fabrications really give the back bumper a nice finish, unlike other kits, you would need a new bumber or have to deal with the ugly cut in your bumper

    The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

    The Good - The exhaust note for a V6 is outstanding. The Trim for the rear bumper cover was much better quality than anticipated. Overall look from distance is nice. The Bad - The left pipe was crushed at one of the bends. Just on the edge of being to bad to use. The Ugly - The right muffler is covered in weld splatter. Looks like rust from a distance and worse up close. The rear hanger mount on this same muffler is rusty. Overall, the suppliers to Ford racing have shipped their rejects to be included in their kits and were not inspected prior to packaging.

    Quality instalation

    Using a hoist and professional assistance we installed this kit in approx. 3 hours. Getting the mufflers and tips lined up and matching took the most time. Also, the mounting hardware for the rear flairs were not in the package. I called American Mussle and they said factory would send them. Still waiting. Bought a set of stainless screws from hardware store to finish installation. Overall installation went very good.

    You get what you pay for...

    Ford Racing true dual exhaust is well worth the money. It fits, sounds good (stock + louder smooth sound), and gives you a slight increase in power/response. Other kits sound a bit overdone. This kit comes with everything needed to install the exhaust easily in about 4-5 hours. Instructions are simple and include cutouts for bumper. There are also protective plates included for the bumper which enhance the style if that is what you like. Overall I would give this system a 10 for fit and getting what you paid for.

    Not to be installed at home.

    Hope you have an open mind when installing this product. Directions are not complete. You do have to print a mirror image to cut out the stock exhaust hole. Not mentioned in directions. It also barely mentions that you might have to cut the NEW exhaust right before the axle and use the extra clamps that were also not mentioned in directions to re-attach the exhaust. I get paid monthly so I have not even driven my car for almost a month due to the fact that the exhaust, even torqued to spec, still twisted over and is touching my rear axle and makes this embarrassing rattle. Also, I have a spot on the passenger exhaust tip that has a nice piece of access welding on the top of it that has started to rust, before I've even gotten to really drive it. The welds on the exhaust tip are so sloppy and careless, now I have a nice Flaw in my expensive exhaust. I will re-submit a review after I've taken my car to have the clamps taken off and actually welded in place.

    V6 Dual Exhaust

    Great product. looks beautiful and sounds wonderful. i had the system installed for 200 bucks. well worth it. make sure the 2 bolts from the original hanger are used on drivers side. my mechanic left them off even after i told him and provided a copy of the install instructions. had to remove the muffler a week later and repair. also gained about 4 mpg. all in all worth every penny. definately reccommend.

    Sounds amazing and looks very professional! Had to cut the rear driver's side muffler hanger a little shorter since it was vibrating against the bumper, but outside of that installation was fairly simple. Really beefs up the v6!

    Nasty resonance

    This system looks good and sounds great but it has a loud resonance sound {drone} at 1200 rpm that is very irritating. Ford dealership can't fix it.

    Quality OEM system

    Choosing the right exhaust for a V6 ain`t easy. If you`re looking for something more aggressive and slightly louder than stock while bringing out the best the 4.0 has to offer, good audible feedback, with no drone, this kit is for you.

    Fits on 2010

    I bought this exhaust and made it fit on a 2010 mustang v6. I just had to modify the brackets. Looks great especially with the Roush Rear valance. Sounds good too for a v6.

    The only V6 exhaust to buy

    I purchased this Ford Racing Dual kit after having my exhaust ripped of my car in a freak accident. I had the Pypes Dual conversion kit for the 2005-09 model V-6 installed. Let me first start by saying I bought the Pypes without any prior knowledge of exhaust, and when I received my Ford Racing kit, I was immediately able to spot the differences in the kits. The Ford Kit screams quality from the bumper set screws, to the aluminum bumper guards, to the pipe thickness gauge, to the clamps. The Ford Kit installed in a relaxed 4 hours or so with a lift and welding in the x pipe. The kit comes with enough clamps to just clamp in the x-pipe which I suggest to try. The clamps are the best quality available and will hold. The same can't be said about the Pypes brand kit. Thin pipes, low quality clamps, and not the best tone, and noticeable drone. With this Ford Racing kit you will get a good sounding exhaust kit that is easy to install and is the best quality, and a great easy upgrade to your stang. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for volume is that it is quiet. Far quieter than the Pypes kit, but it sounds much better. Much more like a stang and not a ricer. Great tone at all RPM ranges. I highly recommend this product. You get what you pay for, and this kit was worth every penny. AM was great as always. Keep it up guys.

    Excellent Upgrade

    I like everything about this exhaust system ... it looks great, it sounds just right, the power gain is noticeable, and a DIY installation is not out of the question. Here is some advice for the DIY'er:1. Make sure you can jack the car up high enough to install the mid-pipes. I put my car up on ramps (front and rear), and still needed to jack up the rear of the car to gain enough room to work the mid-pipes over the rear axial. 2. Use a reciprocating saw with a 6-inch metal cutting blade to remove the original mid-pipe. 3. It is not 100% clear in the instructions … but, you must remove the passenger side CAT from the exhaust manifold to install the X-pipe. The instructions also indicate to loosen the driver side … but, I did not find this step necessary. 4. Make sure you download a set of instructions from the Ford website to obtain a clear pattern for cutting out the access holes for the muffler tips. The patterns that came with the kit were not usable. 5. Have an 8x1.25 MM tap on hand. You will need this to tap the holes already in the body to mount the muffler driver's side mounting brackets. 6. Each of the two (2) muffler brackets are set up with two (2) mounting holes. The kit only supplies two (2) screws. You can obtain the other two (2) screws from the original muffler. It has a third bracket that is not used on the new muffler … use its two (2) screws. 7. If you are working alone, expect to spend about 8-hours installing the system. Less time if you have help, and less still if you have the use of a lift. Finally, my buddy has a 2008 Mustang Bullitt … we could not hear much of difference between our exhaust sound.

    sweet exhuast

    This is awesome!!! Took it to a shop paid 150 and 4 hours later there it was. It is the best looking dual exhaust you can get and keeping all ford on your mustang is a huge plus. I personally love the sound its louder but not over the top like the riced out hondas. 5 for 5!!! ALL THE WAY!!!!!
