More Usable Horsepower. With a JLT Performance "Next Generation" Cold Air Intake installed under the hood of your SVT Cobra you can expect to see gains of up to 16 more horsepower at the rear wheels across the entire RPM range. In addition to an increase in horsepower you will also see an impressive improvement in throttle response.

105mm MAF Housing. With a massive 105mm MAF housing molded right into the tube you have a CAI kit you can grow into and not have to worry about buying new kit to reach 550-600 RWHP. Adding a blower? Simply drill out the pre-molded plug on the MAF block located on the bottom of the tube, install a SCT MAF sensor and electronics, add a huge 4.5 X 12” filter and you now have changed your JLT Cold Air Intake into a JLT High Boost 12” Intake.

Fender Well Induction. This JLT Cold Air Intake is designed to draw in cold air from the fender well, rather than the hot engine compartment. Which reduces the incoming airs temperature for better combustion resulting in more horsepower.

Money Saving Reusable Filter. JLT cold air intake kits come complete with a 4x6 high flow reusable S&B brand air filter. So that means there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Now you can just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Easy Installation. The JLT Performance "Next Generation" Cold Air Intake kit was designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation. Reuses the factory "S" style PCV hose.

Application. This JLT Performance "Next Generation" Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed for use on the 1999 and 2001 SVT Cobra Mustangs equipped with the DOHC 4.6L V8 engine and does not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation. Compatible with both 80mm and 90mm MAF's.

Technical Note. Will not fit with most strut tower braces.

Solid CAI

This Kit fit excellent, and i noticed a substantial gain with the combination of this and a flash tune. I also like the built in cutout for a larger MAF if i ever go for big HP with a blower or turbo setup.

I just installed the JLT next gen CAI. Install went great no problems. My question is. Since the filter is in the fender wheel well, won't the filter suck in water when it rains or hit a puddle and choke out the car? If so how is this preventable..

    Trust in the Research!

    Ill admit, I was skeptical when you first see the price tag... 300 Dollars for a tube? Not so sure about this. But once you do some research, its a wonder any other CAI brand for our cobras is even still around. First off, the piece itself is very clean, and its got a nice shape to it (You can also have the tube itself painted at a shop) The first thing that is great is its plastic, it wont trap in as much heat as metal would and cools off faster, so thats a plus. Second, the diameter of the inlet is MASSIVE compared to other brands, and allows you to adjust the MAF eventually and get a larger diameter filter if you go supercharged. The only problem I had, was that I have the Maximum Motorsports tower strut stabilizer, and according to everybody in exsistance it "Will not Fit"; Well, I was able to make it fit. It was tight, but it fits. If this is your direction as well, I got it to fit by sliding it into place first, (filter and tube) and than removing the throttle body (I have a BBK) And leave the cables attached for ease of installation. Attach the rubber inlet piece to the throttle body, clamp it down, and hook everything up, and squeeze that sucker back in place, just be careful not to break your TB gasket. Reset your ECU when your done, and your all set. (I will upload pictures soon of the CAI/MM Brace) In the end the product was definantly worth the 300 dollars, as the functionality is what your paying for, and you can tell its REALLY there. I also like knowing I can upgrade later and not have to fully replace the system. Easilly reccommend this, if your on the fence just get the JLT, you will not regret it whatsoever.     Decent power for the cost.

    Install was a little harder than I imagined, but you can really tell a difference in the throttle response and overall sound of the car. I would recommend this CAI.

    JLT Cold Air Kit review

    The install took a little over 2 hours (I like to take my time). The fit is very nice and looks like a factory kit which was important to me. My idle seemed to smooth out a bit more with this kit during initial starts. Can feel a difference in power after 3500rpm all the way through 6,0000rpm.

    JLT Cold Air FTW!!!

    It's a bit of a pain in the butt to install but well with it. Instant noticeable gains. Worth it!!

    Beautiful Product, Poor Execution

    First off, this is a beautiful looking product; the tube connecting to the throttle body looks amazing and it goes into the fender well beautifully... That's where the problems begin; the way the filter connects to the rest of the tube seems poorly conceived, it's very difficult to get tightened down and all that is hanging the filter and MAF to the car is a couple twist clamps. This kit looks like an update to an older kit that kept the filter near where the OEM fender intake tube is and I worry about it falling off and dread the thought of cleaning the filter and getting it all properly back together again. Performance gains are acceptable for a CAI, it does cause a lot more noise which is to be expected. If I had it to do over again I think I would go with the ram air over the CAI.

    Excellent Choice

    The JLT Next Generation cold air intake is an excellent alternative to the stock intake system. It is much smoother in the transition from the filter to manifold. The stock air intake port is tiny when compared to the air the JLT can pull in unrestricted then deliver efficiently to the manifold. The installation time was not bad and I took my tire off to have better access to putting the filter on the new system but the fit was great. I'm satisfied with the performance, appearance and installation.

    JLT pro's and con's

    JLT is supposed to be the best of the best when it comes to 4v CAI's. That said, where the CAI places the filter is 6" off the ground... which equals to any splashing of water goes into the filter. Its a tight fit- which is fine in its own right, but there is little to no space left over. I got a tune and 90mm MAF to go along with this for my 01 cobra. No real benefit... other than bama can't seem to get the tune right. But intake temps ARE lower. They did get that right at least. I don't regret my purchase, but don't expect more than what you are going to get.

    Be Careful

    I first installed this without padding the hole through which you pull the wiring harness... this was causing a short that kept blowing fuses that would shut the engine down. It isn't in the instructions.
