Description
Reduce Sludge. Reduce engine sludge in your 4.6 by diverting nasty "blow-by" (a combination of exhaust gases and oil) into a Moroso Air/Oil Separator a.k.a. "catch can" where the contaminated oil is separated out from the exhaust gases before being recycled back into the intake to be re-burned, thus preventing the used oil from re-enter the system to gum up your engine.

Superior Quality Materials. The body of this Moroso Air/Oil Catch is constructed from billet aluminum for strength and has a polished finished to complement your Mustang's engine compartment. The Moroso separator features 90° inlet and outlet fittings, and includes a 1/2" thick rubber hose.

Application. This Moroso Air Oil Separator is specifically designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 GT and Bullitt Mustangs with the 3 valve 4.6L modular engine.

    Quality Product

    Nice chrome and quality construction. Some complain about the rubber hose but it worked nicely for me. I have an M90 and there was plenty to reach to the back of the Supercharger for connection the first connection with plenty of hose left for the valve cover connection. Used the factory PCV vent hose connectors. Easy to cut the tube off and reuse the factory end connectors. Used Loctite Thread SEALANT not thread locker on the brass fittings and make sure you pay attention when buying the thread Sealant all the packages look the same. Teflon tape may work but the thread sealant is better for sure. Its also High temp rated. I drilled 2 holes in my Steeda CAI Box which was a nice alternative mounting location. Check out the pick... 100 miles on the car will drain it at 500. JV

    Great Concept

    It's a good idea if you're one of those people like me who likes to give it a little every now and then... I bought it when i replaced my intake manifold with the FRPP manifold and saw oil dripping out of the inside when I set the old manifold on the ground. I bought this one over the JLT separator because with the 1.5" that you're supposed to cut off the stock vacuum hose I figured there wasn't enough room based off the the JLT photo. I emptied it at 2k miles and it was almost full. My car isn't turbocharged or supercharged either, so if you put it out of your mind because of the people saying it's for engines with forced induction I say go for it anyway, it's not very expensive and keeps quite a bit of oil out of the wrong places in your engine. Only downside is the spout is in an awkward location to drain...

    disappointed

    I'm disappointed because you have to cannibalize the existing PCV tube just to get the fittings. For the money paid, these fittings should have been included. And the mounting bracket is not stainless steel as advertised, it's just a piece of stamped steel that I'll have to paint to keep from rusting. The chromed canister will look good under the hood, which is the only reason I'm not returning this. I'd like to know the capacity of the unit without having to pour some water into it. "Check it after 1000 miles" is pretty vague.

    Another Excellent Moroso Product

    I couldn't believe the amount of oil sitting in my air intake manifold when I removed it to place the Edelbrock Eforce supercharger. I had read about PCV flow, but never really had a visual of the amount of oil returned to the combustion chamber. With that said, I didn't want my new supercharger rotors all gunked up with oil so I ordered one of these. I am really happy with the purchase. The product is well made and looks very nice. All the parts were included to make this a simple install. Several tips I would like to pass along: - Test fit everything before cutting the hose - lube the stock PCV fittings before trying to put them in the new hose. - Use a heat gun to allow the hose to stretch easier when placing the PCV fittings. - Allow time to paint the steel bracket that is supplied. I have not had it on my car long enough to provide any more insight, but I do feel it was worth the money due to function and quality of construction.

    High quality let down by cheap fittings and bracket

    I was extremely impressed with the quality of the aluminum catch can. It's simply beautiful. The fittings that were included had damaged threads. They were shipped and packaged well, but it looks like they were mishandled at the factory. I couldn't screw any of them in without risking damage to the aluminum catch can's threads. I took my time and careful screwed them in, and backing out after half a turn. It pulled out lots of aluminum filings. Had the fittings been in better condition, I should not have needed more than 10 minutes to assemble the can. It took me 30 because of the poor state of the threads on the fittings. The bracket looks like a complete joke. It doesn't even look like it was made by the same company. I ended up painting mine black. I should also mention that, without adjustment, the can will interfere with the factory air-box. As it sits, I will need to unbolt the catch can to remove the air filter. It's not a big deal, but I will probably try to fabricate a new bracket at some point. Overall all, I feel this is a product with great potential that misses the mark.

    great product

    This is a great product. Although I say it's great I am really disappointed that Moroso didn't take the time to put a finish on the bracket. They could have at leat painted it or used billet aluminum. I ended up having to etch prime and paint the bracket myself. For what you pay for it I think it sould have had a better finish!! The installation was very easy and after I painted the bracket it looks awesome. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to enhace the look of their engine bay.

    This is a quality product.

    I received this item just a few days after ordering it. Very pleased with the quality. I did have to upgrade to braided lines, I thought they looked a little more sporty.

    Works and Looks Great!

    Definitely needed this item on my supercharged 4.6 litre Shelby GT, but normally aspirated engines will benefit as well. Instructions were spot-on and the install only took about 45 minutes using standard hand tools. (You will have to cut-up your stock PCV hose to remove the connectors - but this isn't difficult) Nice looking billet finish adds a little bling under hood - I'm considering a second one for the passenger side!

    Not Bad

    I got the oil seperator quick as always and it looked great coming out of the box. When assembling I noticed the threads are very poor to say the least. They did not screw in all the way nor did they go in easy, there were burrs everywhere, after a little tlc they went in but not the way you would want them to. The mount looked poor so i painted it black but it also does not fit properly on the strut tower as my car has the vapor managment thing mounted in that area. Also make sure you replace the hoses with proper ones, the ones that come with the kit are trash. Other than that the seperator works great and polishes up real nice. I would definitely reccomend it for anyone with a F/I setup like mine, just be prepared to do some minor modifcations.
