Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with, and I’m checking out some modern LED lighting from Raxiom for all 2010 and newer Mustangs. Raxiom is without a doubt the industry leader in producing cool and stylish lighting specifically for your late model Mustang. Interior or exterior, retro or modern, Raxiom has something for your ride. The LED lighting I’m checking out here are the license plate LEDs, front/rear side markets, reverse light conversion kit, and finally the switchback turn signal conversion kit. So what are some of the benefits of going with LED lighting, well for one, they look much better, these LEDs shine bright white with a small touch of blue as opposed to the dim, yellowish look of incandescent bulbs. Not only will this bright light look good and help your appearance, but it’s also going to help your safety by increasing your visibility. Finally, LED lighting lasts much longer than your standard automotive bulbs, and it also uses less power. The majority of LED lighting acts like a standard bulb meaning it’s either on or it’s off, with the exception of these switchbacks. These lights turn from bright white to amber then back again, thanks to the included resistors. Just a cool little feature that adds a little more styling to the front of your ride. With the exception of the switchbacks, all these LED bulbs install easily in about 15 minutes per set with no modification needed, simply unplug the factory bulb and plug the Raxiom bulb in its place. As for the switchbacks you will need to splice in the included resistors, which will stretch the install time slightly to about 30 minutes. So if you’re looking to add the unique glow of modern LED lighting to your ride, then check out these different lighting options available from Raxiom, right here at

Ask a Question

Does the front and rear bumper need to be removed? If I install these lights will I have to take-off the front and rear bumpers?

  • Neither bumper needs to be fully removed. For the rear lights, they simply pop out if you use a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a rag. If you don't feel comfortable with that, remove the 3 fasteners in the wheel well and the 2 pushpin fasteners on the bottom portion of the bumper. This will give you enough wiggle room to reach the back of the light housing. As for the front, remove the two fasteners in the wheel well and carefully pull the bumper away from the rest of the car. This will release several clips holding the bumper to the car. At this point you'll be able to reach in behind the light housing and replace the bulb.

install was easy enough, but within 24 hours - one LED bulb was out and within 72 hours, both bulbs were out. What a waste. I ended up going to a local automotive store and purchased a different brand LED set for $13. They are working great! Raxiom is a waste of money IMO.

    Not a good product

I installed them yesterday and they all worked and looked great. Today two of them stopped working already. It was the side of the car that has been in the sun all afternoon while I was at work but that should not have had an affect on the lights. I would save your money and keep the stock lights. What a waist of money.

    Nice Look!

The rear LED's look nice, but with the tint I have on my side marker lights, you really can't tell any difference. The rear lights were easy to change. I still haven't replaced the front lights as they seem more complicated and I haven't had the time to change them out yet. Nice upgrade to LED's, but like I said, with the smoked tint, you really can't tell any difference.

    Easy Upgrade

Product met expectations. Coupled with the smoked front markers and these Raxiom LED's really shine (white). They look incredible and are definitely brighter than the lousy stock bulbs. The installation is quite simple with just a few hand-tools. Just have to becareful when inserting them into the housing (sidemarker) not force them in and do not over-turn/tighten, otherwise they will easily snap in half. Worth the few bucks, in my opinion!

    Expensive but worth it

I installed these in no time at all and they look amazing. Especially if you have clear side marker housings. My only complaint is that both of the back lights on the first day I installed them just stopped working. But AM sent me a whole other set the same day no problem. They are very expensive but if you have the money I would definitely suggest it. Raxiom's 2 year warranty is unbeatable.

Raxiom LED Turn Signals - DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Purchased these 6 months ago, already replaced them once and AGAIN they are DEFFECTIVE. They start to blink erratically after just a month or so. I will be replaceing them once again with the stock incandescent bulbs. THESE ARE DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OR EXPENSE.

The front bulbs installed rather easily. I installed mine while I upgraded the fog lights to LEDs. They are a bit brighter, but not really noticeable from the casual observer. The rear bulbs were a huge pain to install. You are supposed to be able to pry forward on the rear lens with a screwdriver between the lens and the bumper cover to remove the assembly. Mine wouldn't budge and I didn't want to scratch the paint. I ended up removing some screws in the rear wheel well area and partially taking the rear bumper cover off to install them. The increased brightness isn't really noticeable to the casual observer. I would recommend led license plate bulbs, map lights, trunk light and fog lights for an upgrade, but these, not so much.

    Not what i expected

probably would look better if you got different housings(ie not amber in the front). these LED's done fill the side markers with light like i thought they would. but its nice to have LEDs instead of regular bulbs

    Front and Rear Marker Lights

Rear lights were a snap. Just pop the cover off and swap out the bulbs. The front lights were another story. What worked for me is taking a few screws out of the front and bottom of the wheel well shroud so I can move the shroud enough to get my hand in there behind the bulb housing and remove it so I could change out the bulb. If it doesn't turn on rotate the bulb 180 and reinsert it. I have stock side marker covers and with the LED's they are a little brighter.

The LED marker lights are definetly much brighter then the stock lights. The lights take some time to get to but they look good when it is done.

    Nice but a little complicated.

The rear side markers are cake to install. Just pop them loose with a screwdriver and replace. Easy as that. The rear side LEDs are a little brighter than the incandescent, but not a lot due to the red lens housing. The front install was easy and hard. I only removed one bolt each and just stuck my and in there to remove the housing. The passenger was cake as the cord was just long enough to sneak out the plastic. The driver side one I paid dearly for only taking one bolt out. Had to install the driver side front one handed but I got it done. The front LEDs are 2x brighter and I like the look of them.

    They're ok

My side markers aren't tinted. These bulbs definitely made a difference but were only marginal compared to the rest of the LED lights I got. I think having the side markers brighter and sharper looking was a necessity with the other lights brighter. Installation in the back was extremely easy as others said. Just pop out the lens from the outside and replace. The front on my 2010 V6 was pretty easy but did require more work. It sounds like there are a few ways to get to the bulbs to change them. I chose to jack the car up and take the front wind deflector off the underneath. It was around 10 screws holding it on. After that it was very easy, just reach up and replace them. I'm not sure but it seems like the lights might be directional. Out of all the bulbs I changed, there were a few that didn't come on the first time. I noticed when I took it out and turned it around it came on.

    Side Marker LED

The front side markers look great with the LEDs, but the rear looks the same basically. I would still get these because they are LED so you know they wont burn out, but I'm just disappointed with how the rear turned out. Still overall a good product.
