The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because of the stupid wire nuts and Scotch locks that come with the kit. This is a Mustang, not a house. I soldered with heat shrink in less than an hour and ... it's a much cleaner and reliable install. That said they look great and everyone at work(I'm a Ford tech) thinks they look sweet. Totally reminds me of the old Shelby's. Makes me want to use my signals more.
Hi I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, taking a look at a splice in sequential tail light kit, for your 96-2004 V6 and GT Mustang. This kit is designed to give your tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights a very cool sequential pattern, first made popular by the late 60s Shelby, and now has become standard equipment on all 2010 and newer Mustangs. According to a lot of you guys out there, this mod turns a lot of heads, it’s sure to get noticed and makes a very cool, visually striking impact on your ride. Now again this is a splice in kit so you will need to know a little bit about electronics in order to get everything wired in correctly, if that doesn’t sound like your particular cup of tea, we do have a plug in kit that we offer for just a few bucks more, that makes everything a little bit easier. Everything you need to complete the job is included with the kit, first we have the actual relays themselves, we do also have all the components necessary to install the kit: butt connectors, wire ties, etc., and finally we have the instructions. Install is not too bad, about an hour. To give you an idea what the finished product looks like we turned on the hazards on our test car here. As you can see the pattern is moving a little quick, so if that’s really not your speed, then you can combine it with Raxiom’s turn signal modifier, basically what this does is slow the pattern down giving you a much more dramatic effect. If you want to achieve that retro look with the modern flair then you want to check out the splice in sequential tail light kit for your 96-2004 V6 and GT Mustang. View Full Transcript
Is the sequential taillight kit compatible with the three bar LED replacement brake lights?
whats the difference in this kit vs the Raxiom Sequential Tail Light Kit - Plug-in
The splice in kit comes with: - Wire nuts - Quick splice tabs - Wire modules (which will end up in the trunk) - Pigtail to change the function of one of your tail lights Likewise, it will require you to strip back the tape and clips that keep the wires together on the unit, since you'll have to swap around two of the bulb housings to make it work. If you have newer OEM replacement lights, and are familiar with electronics, this is a good option for you. The plug-in kit is basically your tail light harness, complete with bulb housings, grommets, housing seals and plugs, and is a direct replacement; there are no wires to splice, cut, or cap off. The plug-in kit is the way to go if you have older or stock tail lights, as the grommets and seals for your lights have been subjected to elements for anywhere from 10 to 15 years, and probably need to be replaced, anyhow.
is this what i need for my 04 mustang gt to look like the new mustangs turn sequential's?

well worth it
This is probably is best visual mod you can do to any mustang. You have to be comfortable with wires but its an easy install. The coolest part is when you brake, it sequences too, which is better than the new '11 sequential lights. Get it

One of a kind
Kit is easy! Looks GREAT, only one small problem, and its not even a problem..when making a hole in the seal for the light socket to insert the white wire into the major wire socket, feed the tip of the wire thru the seal then insert into the light socket. The instructions tell you not to cut the seal but instead to make a hole to insure a good seal on new wire.Just a FYI..Agian great product!!!!

Sequential Tail Lights
This is one of the best products for my 01 GT that i have ever purchased! Although the installation was difficult, the outcome is amazing. I can always see people behind me that point out my sequentials with an "ooh." I would highly recomend this product because for the price it was well worth the money that i paid for it.

I love it. American Muscle never disappoints.
I took the two tail lights off and went to the smooth carpet on my room and installed them both in about 20 minutes. I fell asleep next to them that night. HA! Next morning I put the tail lights back on and I was grabbing all the attention in the road. People let you in front of them more often, they are more corteous if you're switching lanes with your turn signal, they don't tailgate as much anymore, you just gotta tap your brake and hold it for about a second and most just stay back. I could keep on going! And the coolness factor is incredible. It's not like a lightened-up HONDA. It's making the lights already in your MUSTANG even more attractive. I loved it, would definitely recommend! Thanks AM! Quick note: Make sure the tab on the white wire sits all the way down in the socket, or you WILL have problems!

Amazing product, came on time, and easy to install. Took all of 30 min with myself and a buddy with some wiring experience. The best advise I can give is that there is a step by step video instruction on Youtube that helped greatly. I would reccoment this product to anyone that owns or ever plans to own a Mustang of any year. I put this on at a garage, and saw three different people point it out on the way home.

I was a little hesitant on buying this kit because it was splice in and not plug in play, but honestly it was pretty easy, the instruction were super easy to follow and the only thing i plan to change are the wire nuts, eventually i will solder and shrinkwrap, but that didnt affect the product, these tail lights are cool, easy to install and the kit is cheaper than plug in play

Easy, please read for hints
I freakin love these. They look old school and remind me of the 70's muscle cars. Installation was pretty easy. The instructions were very accurate. The only problem I had was the splice itself. Just a hint, when splicing the red wires with the turn signals, as well as splicing the black wires together, make sure you punch the metal plate all the way through the wires. The metal plate, when properly applied, will be flush with the top of the red splice piece, then clamp. Do not clamp the splice in an attempt to punch the metal plate through. The first one took me about an hour to do, but once I knew the trick, the second set of wires went in and took me no longer than 10 minutes from beginning to end. It is so easy, and I love them so much. I almost drove home from where I worked on it, about fifteen miles away with the hazard lights on because I loved them so much. This is a great add to any mustang, and I would give it six stats if I could.

Frustrating installation but Great modification
Now don’t get me wrong, I am glad I bought it. It looks great. HOWEVER… Installation was a little more difficult for a novice like me. The instructions although informative, were unprofessional cheesy looking photo copies from a 1982 Xerox machine. The part they call a “quick splice connector” leaves a lot to be desired. On one of my connections it didn’t cut all the way through the plastic coating on the wire therefore not making a connection so the lights did not come on. I had to take it off and strip the wire and then reattach it. The mark up on this product has to be incredible. All you get is about $2.00 (if that) worth of wire and wire nuts. But somehow it works. Buy it. It looks great.
