  • Improves Airflow for More Power
  • Perfect for Larger Throttle Bodies
  • Durable Aluminum Construction
  • Fits 1996-2004 4.6L GT Mustangs
Improves Performance. Increase the airflow into your Mustang's two valve 4.6L V8 engine to improve horsepower, torque, and overall performance with a Mustang Upper Intake Plenum.

A Must For Larger Throttle Bodies. Installing a larger throttle body on the factory intake plenum still restricts incoming airflow, but now you get the most out of your Mustangs bigger throttle body by installing an upper intake plenum for improved air flow.

Precision Crafted. This Intake Plenum is made from a permanent mold casting of 356 aluminum to produce a higher quality casting than conventional sand molds, which reduces porosity for an improved finish.

Application. The Upper Intake Plenum is a direct bolt-in replacement for all 1996 to 2004 4.6L 2V Mustangs using a Stock, 70mm, or 75mm Throttle Body.

Doest this fit on the 95 gt as well? Part is in section of 94-98, but says fits 96-98 and can't find one for the 95.

  • Short answer is no: the 95 model came with the venerable 5.0 engine, which is a completely different engine and even engine family. You are probably better suited finding a 5.0 Cobra or 92-96 Lightning intakes for a low cost mod. Or you can go the more expensive route and install a good aftermarket part.

Can you use a plenum without a aftermarket TB?

  • Short answer is yes. Not knowing the exact characteristics of the part here are the things you will need to consider: - Does this part have the same internal diameter as the OEM throttle body? You don't want abrupt changes in diameter, and by abrupt I mean more than 1mm, which will cause unwanted turbulence and reduction of laminar flow. Some controlled turbulence is expected and desired, but not as much at this part of the plenum. - Does it have the proper diameter and thread for the EGR connection (if you are planning to retain it)? - Are you installing it on a PI or non-PI engine? There is a spacer for the intake and one for the 5th bolt (thick washer) in the PI engine that you definitely want to place between the new part and the intake manifold. I believe this covers the basic considerations.

I just bought this SR UPPER INTAKE PLENUM and wow i like the low end and mid rang but my idle seems to hang around the 1100 RPM and then drops down to normal, how do I correct this problem? I was thinking the IAC needs changing.

  • Do you have a Bama Tuner yet? Well why not along with maximizing your horsepower it can fix a bunch of stuff that happens when you ad on aftermarket performance parts. Get different size tires , get a 2,200 Stall Converter, changed your gearing from 3:31 to 3:73 That's right Bama can fix it and do it right the first time. The TPS motor my be is having issue with the extra volume of air ans yes BAMA can fix that too!. Top notch guys with great training fixing problems "It's Who They Are It's What They Do" and they do it with a smile and can do attitude!

which throttle body which throttle body would be better? the SR Performance 70mm or 75mm throttle body?

  • If you plan on going forced induction then go 75mm but if not go 70mm. Too much air can cause power loss.

will this work with the airaid throttle body spacer? Right now I have the stock throttle body and plenum. But I have the airaid throttle body spacer and plenum spacer.. can I install this plenum with what I have installed now? And will it give me any more power or even better throttle response? Thanks.

  • Yes, the bolt pattern will be the same but if the spacer is for a stock throttle body it may have a smaller inside diameter. If it is smaller it will restrict air flow. Save it for your next swap meet and sell it.

what size is plenum,70mm or larger, What else works well here! I already have a cold air induction system as well.

  • I believe the plenum will handle throttle bodies up to 75mm.

    full SR performance intake

I install the SR Performance intake spacer, plenum and 70mm throttle body and all I could say is WOW! blew away all of my expectations! The install of the parts wasn't that bad, just hoses and bolts. When I took the car for a spin it was a hole new car! It seriously felt like my power doubled. You can hear and feel the car getting more air, and it gives you back a lot more power and a lot more throttle responsiveness. The car is like a whole new animal! 110% satisfied!

    Looks amazing

My friend and I installed Cold Air Intake (96-04 GT), SR Performance 70mm Throttle Body (96-04 GT), SR Performance Upper Intake Plenum (96-04 GT), and SCT SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Free Custom Tunes (96-98 GT) last night. It looks so good under the hood, along with the other parts mentioned. Sounds very nice when I open up the throttle.

    Easy Horsepower

I Have a 2003 Gt 5 speed and right now it has an off road x pipe with flowmaster 40s , BBk CAI , FRP 4:11 ring and pinion, SCT livewire flashtuner, BBK 75 mm throttle body. My car was moving pretty good for what little things i had done to it. Ordering the Stack Racing plenum and spacer was well worth it. The inside of the plenum was rough when it came in (took six days and im in alberta, canada) i have a small buffing tool which i took an extra hour to polish out the inside of the plenum smoothed it out and installed it in less than 20 min. I felt a difference right away my car breaths better is almost whistles when i get on it. Definately improved mid range power and brought my revs around alot quicker. The car also sounds different in a good way. definately a must buy product for all mustang owners.

    Great Product

Easy to install. You have to hammer in some of the fittings but it's not hard. There was some casting flash on the inside which was easily removed. Looks great and runs great.

    I love it!

I bought it on Tuesday, got it friday. It was in perfect condition, they give you two adapters to choose from and two screws for the IAC valve. It fit perfectly, and It made a noticable difference in my exhaust (O/R Mac Mid, AT Flowmasters).

    Good balance price/performance

Bought this and strapped it on, no problems like some of the installation issues I read on reviews of other plenums. Nicer throttle response.

All you folks looking thru this site, you won't find a better place for your mustang needs, great prices and even greater service. I put this Stack racing plenum on my mustang with a half inch spacer(also purchased from AM) and you would not believe the difference it made. The torque and hp gain was unbelievable. Thanks AM you've done it again !!!!

    Good for the money!

Fitment was great except for the rear vacuum nipple which required a larger hose. Rpms seem to hang slightly longer than stock, but only around 1100 rpms then down to normal. This aids in rev matching and overall in town driving with a manual! Worth your while! Thanks AM!

    Who needs Accufab?

I purchased this with the Edelbrock 70mm throttle body. Installation took about 30 minutes with very few tools. Fit and finish was excellent. Throttle and lower intake faces were flat and true and there are no leaks. The piece is solid and looks better than most I've seen on the market. If you've ever considered the Accufab plenum, but didn't have the cash, you need to consider this plenum for your pony.

    Bogs below 3000 rpm

Installed this with the 70mm SR throttle body and updated Bama tune. Lost WOT power below 3000 rpm (bogs), above that it picks up pretty well. I specifically went with this setup to prevent low end power loss, so I'm somewhat disappointed. My previous tunes had not done this, so it's either the TB/plenum or this specific tune, frustrating nonetheless. Throttle response is unchanged from stock. Also, the 2 tube adapters they give you for the plenum do not seem to match the stock plenum (the stock one had a slight curve, these are either straight or sharp curve).
