Is it possible to install this spacer backwards. My car seems to run normal. But it seems like my gas mileage has gone down. It could just be that i am paranoid, but i wanted to ask to make sure.

  • The SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer is not directional, and it may be installed in both manners.

Will this fit with an aftermarket BBK 73mm Throttle Body V6 as well?

  • Hi, This SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer is only for V6 Mustangs with factory throttle body, You should never use a aftermarket throttle body and a spacer at the same time.

If I were to bore out my stock throttle body, would this work? Or would it restrict the throttle body? Or would it be best to bore both the spacer and throttle body to the same mm???

  • When it comes to the SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer (11-17 V6), whether you are reusing your factory throttle body or modifying it, you will want to make sure the size of the spacer is the same size as the throttle body. You would not want them to be different sizes. Personally, rather than going through modifying both parts, I would recommend simply purchasing a larger throttle body. By doing that you will pick up the most performance.

Will this work with the Airraid CAI! I know they Airraid spacer doesn't work with the airraid intake

  • This SR Performance spacer will fit with the Airaid intake. As long as you have the stock throttle body this will work.

Please excuse the ignorance, but what exactly is this good for? I am not quite sure what this is exactly, I just find it intriguing because it says it improves performance. Also Will this work with the aftermarket cold air intake?

StangBoy

  • By increasing your plenum size behind the throttle body, we have found that this was able to create a little bit better of an airflow which ultimately lead to a small increase in power in the low to mid RPM range. I personally would recommend rather than purchasing this item, putting this money towards the BBK 73mm Throttle Body (11-17 V6) Item 56146 http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-85mm-throttlebody-112v6.html. The stock throttle body size is 68mm and by increasing your size throttle body you are now allowing more air to flow into the motor which ultimately leads to more performance throughout the entire power curve!

    Pretty cool

Easy to install, I was able to put with a air aid CAI, it was a tight fit, but not that bad if you put on the throttle body side last. It makes a cool whistle sound that's fun to hear. I didn't feel too much of a difference, stang is now slightly more responsive.

    Noticeable Difference

The SR performance throttle body spacer is awesome it's a simple install did it in the garage in about 30 minutes maybe less. It gives you noticeable improvement in acceleration right away no more lag in sports mode seems to make the engine run smoother. Worth the purchase.

    Great Part for the Money

I have bought many parts for my mustang. But the spacer is the most bang for you buck as far as I'm concerned. When I was checking it out and reading the reviews I thought ok if I get a little better performance I'll go ahead and buy it. Once it arrived I put it in. It was a tight fit since I have an airaid already, but it does fit. When I first got on the road with it what a difference, I had better throttle response, along with better gas mileage and it also sounds better. So I will tell anyone who is thinking of getting it, go ahead you won't regret it.

    Great addition

I wasn't looking for so thing expensive to do and to still notice a difference. This TB spacer is perfect! Right around 2000 rpms it has the most satisfying whistle I could ask for. As for preformans not much has changed but still a great buy in my opinion!

    VERY Surprised at the difference

Ok, I am not a gear-head for sure. I have done my own maintenance for years on my F150, but no performance work so I was really hesitant that this little ring would do anything. But all the reviews said it was the real deal and I was looking for a minor tweak for my Mustang. WOW, What a difference! It seemed to take a couple of days to really become apparent. I am assuming it is maybe the brain re-tuning based on the new air flow??? But on Day 3 I put my foot down to get in the fast lane and suddenly I got a growl I had never heard from the engine bay before, and definitely a slightly harder kick in the seat. Completely worth the money. Also silly easy to install. I didn't even have to change the hose connection, the '15 is slightly different from the '14 this was designed for. Being a picky guy I do wish AM would get this specifically for the '15, but other than that it is awesome!

    Money well spent

After reading about this product I decided to give it a chance. Installed it myself. Very simple and straight forward. I been using the spacer for 2 weeks now and I can see a lot of improvement in the fuel economy and better engine performance. I would recommend this item to anyone. Just buy it don't wait so you can save a little on gas.

Bang for your buck. You feel it in the pedal

I work at a ford store as a manager and have spend my life with cars. I use 93 oct, race tune, and intake. I Was skeptical of the throttle body would do anything. You can feel the gain in the pedal and it ties all my mods together and I'm very happy and impressed with how $100 made my car feel a lot more responsive. I installed at work in short 5 minute burst. Very easy. I highly recommend the little cash for great race feel. Barron Hutto. Fort Mill Ford

    Pretty good for the $$

Bought this on sale, Installation was a breeze and throttle response is definitely improved. Makes a whistling sound paired with my Roush CAI when under certain amounts of throttle. Overall I am pleased with it, for under $100 totally worth it.

Good Mod for People who aren't trying to go over the top

The throttle body spacer is a good modification if you're looking for a small power gain for a decent price. The installation took about 15 mins on my 2015. You might need a power drill with a socket attachment to break the bolts easily. Another thing is the longer hose that is supplied with the spacer will not fit the 2015 so please LEAVE THE STOCK HOSE ON! Just take the tape off of it from the top of the throttle body so it can reach the intake manifold. You'll know it when you see it. Gas mileage might improve depending on your driving style, but i gained 2-3 like they said, I get 19.3 mpg regularly driving now. There is a noticeable sound difference along with a faster throttle response between 2500-4000 rpm in wide open throttle that in my opinion makes it sounds more like a race car. As for torque and hp, I can't be sure if there is a noticeable gain, but I'm not saying there is none at all (not to discourage those from buying). It's all down to what you're willing to spend for performance gain. Overall, I think it is a good product for those not wanting to spend a lot.

    SR Performance TBS Observations

Packaging: Includes the TBS, TBS gasket, longer bolts / washers, hose adapter, and directions in a small cardboard box. The TBS had a few scratches (apparently from machining) but otherwise seems like a solid piece of billet aluminum. Installation: Took about 20 minutes to install by removing the intake tube / TB, adding the TBS (with gasket), and using the longer bolts. Covered the intake manifold with a bag to make sure nothing got inside. Regarding the 2015 V6 Mustang specifically, the hose design is different but I used the stock one without any issues. The TBS almost looks like a factory piece and subtly improves under-hood appearance. Performance: Noticed slightly improved low range torque and smoother shifting. There is also a slight whistle sound upon acceleration. It is too early to tell what effect on fuel economy it will have but if it is similar to a TBS I installed on my last Mustang it should be a 1-3 MPG improvement. Overall: A great little mod for the money which can improve performance and economic characteristics of the solid 3.7L Cyclone.

SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer (11-15 V6)

This was a very easy upgrade. It took about 15-20 minutes to install. I notice an increase in throttle response and a slight increase in MPG. I recommend this for a quick and easy mod.

this is exactly what i was looking for

First time owning a car with a electronic drive by wire . it's a 2013 V6 Convertible automatic transmission. i feel like there's a small delay / lag or something when i hit the gas hard to accelerate fast. i been looking online to find a solution to this problem and this Throttle Body Spacer by SR Performance fixed it. now i feel like the throttle response is more accurate i also installed a drop in K&N filter with it. a week later i removed the throttle body spacer too see if it really did make a differences i was thinking maybe it's the K&N that's making the accelerate better so i removed the spacer and took it around the block. all i feel is the K&N doing it's job which is HP and torque but it takes a little bit long for the acceleration to kick inn. so now i know that the throttle body spacer really dose work's !

    SR Throttle Body Spacer

I just put the spacer on today (01/19/14) and I can definitely feel an increased throttle response, which personally was what I was looking for. I do hear a small whistle when I let the horses open up which is pretty cool. I did notice that my car does idle a little lower too. I took it up on a highway minutes after I installed it and my car seems to coast and cruise easier which may be where the increased mileage may eventually come in to play. Overall, installation was simple. It's pretty straight forward, even without directions but it's still worth looking over.

A little improvement for a little money

I bought this part expecting a small bump in mpg more than any hp or torque gains and got just that. The changes in power weren't really noticeable, if any, but I have gained an increase of about 2 mpg city & 3 mpg highway so ultimately the part will pay for itself. There was another benefit to me that was unexpected. I have a CAI and Pype Bomb axle backs and adding the spacer took a lot of the drone out of the tone of the pipes. For $90, I feel it was a worthwhile investment
