HTR Z III. Sumitomo's HTR Z III series tire is an ultra high performance summer tire. The aggressively designed 275/40-19 delivers extraordinary performance in either wet or dry conditions, on and off the track.

Uncompromising traction and handling. The HTR ZIII's five rib asymmetric tread design pattern merges cornering with straight line stability. Siped tie-bars reinforce block rigidity for control and enhance wet traction.

Excellent anti-hydroplaning characteristics. Long lateral grooves evacuate water from the center of the footprint. Four straight, wide grooves further heighten drainage for improved wet performance. A 3-D wave wall increases drainage capabilities and reinforces center rib stability.

Smooth ride; minimal road noise. In addition to outstanding performance, the HTR Z III Series Tires deliver a smooth ride with minimal road noise. That way you and your passengers can be treated to the sounds that really count, like the growl of your motor, the whine of your supercharger, or the bass thumping from your Mach 1000 stereo system!

Real world durability. Rigid, wide steel belts, high tension casing plies, and advanced silica tread compound construction means these tires are designed to last.

5 Year Warranty. This Sumitomo Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Sumitomo Warranty disclosure for details.

Best Fit: 19 x 10 Inch 2005+ Wheels

Features:
  • Y-speed rating for true high-performance vehicles
  • Direct replacement sizing for premium performance vehicles
  • True performance upgrade sizing for performance segment vehicles like the Mustang

NOTE: These are ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in superior traction over "all season" tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures significantly reduces traction and increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.

Tire life? How many miles are these tires rated for i am looking for a 275-40-19 which i'm having a hard time finding i don't beat on my car everyday just the occasional drag strip so i don't want another tire like my pirellis which only lasted 10000 miles.

  • Depending on how you drive, Sumitomo HTR Z III Tires should last approximately 20-25k miles. Hope this helps!

  • As long as the front wheel of your 2013 GT Premium has a 19x8.5 or 19x9, the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z III Tire - 275/40-19 (05-17 All) will fit on your wheels.

Question Resolved

Anybody try these on a road race track? Curious how these handle compared to BFG G force Comp 2's

Tezz

  • The Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z III Tire is a great all around performance tire. I have personally used them on my 2013 Mustang which is also my daily driver. They performed well under my spirited driving style. To compare them to the Nitto or Mickey Thompson tires, I felt that these tires were great as a daily driving tire with good tread life but they lacked in the performance category. I would personally recommend for a road course track the Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tire Item #79540 (http://www.americanmuscle.com/mickey-thompson-comp-285-35-19.html).

I Bought these Tires while i was tight on cash instead of the Bridgestone SO4's i preferred. Ive gotta say that these tires are pretty darn good, once i got use to how they reacted these babies made me feel unstoppable...unless i was trying to stop...then i just felt totally awesome...however, i will be buying a second set o these for the rear of my 2012 5.0, theyre better, theyre smoother, and theyre cheaper, what more could i ask for.

    Great tire for the price

When it come time for new tires I was looking for an aggressive looking tire that hooked. This tire delivered. It hooks well on dry pavement and the ride is good as well. If you're looking for a nice summer tire but don't want to break the bank I highly recommend this tire!

    Great Buy

These tires are a nice upgrade from the factory. They handle very well in the turns and the ride is very comfortable. The ride is quiet. I put these on 19x9.5 GT500 wheels and the wheels and tires look great on the car.

Hard to beat for the money

These tires are pretty hard to beat for the money. grip is good and the side wall is fairly stiff. They ride much better than the stock Pirelli PZero Nero all-seasons. I run 275/40-19s on all 4 corners and love it. American Muscle had the best price as usual on a tire that is the most bang for the buck in it's class.

Above 60 degrees out and these tires really grip. Stock tires were horrible in comparison. The tires produce no extra noise for everyday driving which i do. Get a set...you won't be disappointed!

    Really Nice, Quiet Tires

I bought these 275/40/19 Sumitomo tires for the rear of my 2009 Mustang Gt Convertible. I had some Bridgestones on the rear before. The Sumitomos are much quieter and they match up nicely with the side of my car. The grip seems good as well. It's only been a couple of weeks and I haven't really romped on them from a stop. (yet) I've got some mid-level mods which have really wakend up my GT but I feel pretty good that these tires will help instead of hinder my green light starts. At close to a couple hundred bucks a tire, these are by far the best bang for your buck.

    Great tires, better than OEM

Switched to a staggered set along with the new wheels. The car rides much smoother and quieter than on the stock OEM Pirellis. Handling and accelerating is much better also. Once winter sets in I'll be putting the OEM wheels with Blizzacks back on. GOOD Tire, well priced

Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z III Tires

I have these tires in 275/40/19 in back, and 245/40/19 up front on AMR "Drift" wheels. What I Like: Overall road manners and convincing dry grip and handling characteristics. The tread wear also seems to be good, and wear is even. What I'd Improve: Wet grip could improve. I noticed a fair amout of traction loss in very heavy rain conditions. Conclusion: A good tire, that is very well priced and worthy of being put in a performance summer tire category

    Great Tire for the price.

Great tire for the price. Much better than 400 each. I bought two of these for the rear of my GT pp. Not much road noise. Decent traction, still getting 2,3 and 4th gear barks. But that is to be expected.

    Decent

Tires are much better than the stockers. They do hook a lot better and I'm actually able to launch a little harder on the street! Still spun through second but a great tire to help put the power down and for a great price!

    Great Upgrade!

I put together a staggered black Magnetic style wheel package with these tires. Previously I came from the HTR Z II's on Bullett wheels. Those were a bit noisy and became even noisier after some wear. These newer generation HTR Z III's are awesome! They are MUCH quieter than the II's and they STICK better (275/40-19's on rear)! After I installed my wheels I played around a bit and went into sport mode and hit it from a stop with some 'spirit'. Where the II's spun fairly easily ( I have a Cobra Jet setup :) ) I was a bit more hard pressed to get these III's to break and stay spinning; they actually hooked almost immediately (was a hot day too). Pretty impressed for sure at this price point for a performance tire!

    Great tire

Pretty good tire and the price isn't bad. They are definitely stickier in dry conditions than my factory Pirelli's. A little more prone to hydroplaning in really wet conditions but easily compensated with some common sense driving.

    Nice tires

I have the staggered tires and wheels. The look is real good. I get compliments on the tire and wheel package. I believe you need a complete pkg. to look good, these perform also. Don't wait to order, you won't regret it. The tires have a good tread pattern that works well and the sidewall looks good with tire wet for shows.

    Great tire for the money!

I have a 2012 mustang 5.0...These tires are very sticky when it comes to the road being dry, for the price you can not beat these tires! When it is wet you have traction but not enough to really get into your car still. Overall the best performance tire for the price!
