Additional Clearance. Sometimes certain wheel, tire and brake combinations may require just a little extra clearance to prevent caliper, inner tire or dust cap rubbing. A quick and easy way to solve these problems is with a set of 5/16" (8mm) wheel spacers from AmericanMuscle.

Durable Construction. These wheel spacers are made from light weight die-cast aluminum for durability and strength, these wheel spacers are designed to last a lifetime.

Application. This set of two 5/16 inch wheel spacers are designed for use with 5 lug 5 x 4.5" wheels.

Technical Note. Longer wheel studs may be required depending on style of wheels and year/model of Mustang.

Q & A (3 Questions, 3 Answers) Ask a Question

Will these be wide enough? I recently put on 10.5" tires on the rear of my 97 and the tire has about 2mm's of space between this and the shock. I just wanted to push the tire out a tiny bit just so I don't run the risk of it rubbing on my tire. Also will these work with my wheel studs? Or will the studs become too short?

Are these spacers hub centric?

  • No, they are not hub centric. I used two pieces of painters tape to hold them in place then pulled the tape out once the wheel was installed.

    Wheel Spacers

There thickness is consistent and provide an accurate spacing. However, the elongated holes make it difficult to center them on the studs. In addition, the 1/4" spacing is just enough to pull the wheel off the the hub index and there is very little stud length left.

    Wheel Spacers 5/16 inch

The spacers are good quality aluminum parts but what they don't tell you is the wheel studs are too short to use them. You have to change the studs or risk loosing the wheels while driving down the road. It isn't worth the time or the cost to change the studs so you're better off buying the indexed spacers that bolt on and have their own studs for the wheel. A good idea but it doesn't work without major modification.

    5/6 Spacer

These spacers seem to work well for what they were made for but I ended up needing 1/2 instead of the 5/16. They were still made well and I would recomend them if they are thick enough for what you need. The bolts did not need to be replace on my mustang to use these.

    .25 in. wheel spacers

these did exactly as i wanted cuz my rims are too wide for my car so they were rubbing my inner wheel well so i needed just a little space for clearance HOWEVER be aware that these are defanitely going to shorten the thread availability on your studs i actually had to buy extended studs and turned a couple hour job max into A 15 HOUR JOB.i would suggest the 1 in spacers that include the stud on the spacer itself.

    A needed part

I have a 2007 V6 Mustang and put on 2007 GT stock Bullitt rims with 235/55/17's. I defiantly needed the spacers for my front wheels to clear the caliper covers. Just order them with the covers and have them ready just in case you need them.
