Review & Install Video

Hi, I'm Justin with, and I'm checking out a set of these smoked side-marker lights fitting all 2010 and newer Mustangs. On the road, these side markers make a noticeable improvement to the front of your ride versus your amber factory side markers, and if you're one of the many Mustang owners who chooses the complete blackout look, then these side markers are essential. These lights, sold in a set of two are a direct factory replacement. Now, since they are a direct replacement, the install really isn't all that bad. You will need to remove you inner fender liners, just to gain access to the back of the lights, so removing your front wheels altogether will make life a whole lot easier, trust me. Either way, removing your factory lights and installing these new smoke units should take you about 45 minutes. So if you're looking to achieve that total blackout look in your V6 or your GT, or you just want to add a little stealthy styling to your front bumper, then you'll want to check out a set of these smoked side marker lights today.

    Hardware would be nice

Before I get into this review I do have to say once installed these things look great. Getting there was not fun though. The lights fit in the bumper cover fine but the posts for the nuts were to small and I could not install the nuts properly. For the price that is charged for these putting a little extra material on the mounting posts should happen. A lot of people have had the same issues with these as I have. They need to have a larger mounting post or supplied nuts for proper install.

Great product, hardware included would be nice

Overall really great product, it removes the yellow corner lights and adds the blackout look I was going for. Quality seems good enough but like everyone else has said, the factor nuts don't fit the bolts on this one without some "help" I added 1 wrap of duct tape to give them something to bit into and it seems to have worked. I will see if it lasts or if I need to get a smaller size and reinstall. I really like them and would still recommend them but it would have been nice if these studs were the same size as factory or if they provided the needed hardware for this size.

    Look Fantastic. Annoying to Install

These really help finish off the look I was going for on my Race Red 2011 GT. Keeping the theme of red and black, I purchased these to get rid of the orange corner marker lights. They are factory quality and look perfect. They do dim the lights down quite a bit, but seeing as how they are not the actual "blinkers", I'm ok with it. Installing them was an absolute pain. I didn't want to have to remove the wheels, or put the car on a lift or stands so I loosened the inner fender and squeezed my hand in between it and the bumper. Took 30-45 minutes, but well worth it.

installing these lights only took about 30 minutes and the only problem i really had was the lights didn't have a thread pattern for the nut so i just took a little innovation to get them on.

    Great aggressive looks

These turn signal lights are a great addition to my ride, I combined them with a black billet grille for a really aggressive look.

Look great - stock retainers don't fit.

The yellow lenses on my original side marker lights just fell off! Maybe it was the automatic car washes. These look good, and hopefully the lenses will stay on. As others have pointed out, the stock push-on retaining nuts don't fit, and you will have to go buy some that do before you change them out. For this amount of money, surely they could have thrown in a couple of 5 cent nuts.

I was disappointed in the lack of instructions provided with this product. My car didn't disassemble as easily as the video implies. I ended up removing the cover under the bumper and accessing the lights that way. This option would not have worked for my husband for obvious space issues. The old fasteners did not work since the studs on these replacement lights are smaller than the factory studs. After a trip to the auto parts store for smaller fasteners and amber colored light bulbs (my preference) the installation was quick. They turned out looking great!

    Great look! Fitment is so-so

I installed these at the same time as the GT/CS front fascia so I had to take off the front bumper anyways. The stock lenses pop right out but mounting the new ones took a little tinkering and ingenuity. I had to reverse mount the stock fasteners and use pliers to twist them on for the lenses to install securely. (The plastic studs on these lenses are bit thinner than stock.) Overall, look is stellar and I would recommend them based on that but make sure they're securely fastened before you button everything back up.

    Looks good

The markers look great once I finally got them installed. The nuts that came off the original did not work for me. They are way too big. I ended up using a nut kit for a 5/32 stud. Great looking product but I wish they were supplied with the correct mounting hardware.

    Makes it look awesome

Nice product. Pain to instal but looks amazing. It was not smoked enough from for me so I added three light coats of Nyteshade to make the marker darker and installed amber LED lights and works great. Wish they had a pair for the rear. I had to Nyteshade them and install red LED lights for an awesome daytime black out effect.

Low quality, but look good installed

Very low quality for $50 lights, one of the ports where the light plugs in was miss shaped, was able to fix it without breaking it, and get it inserted and twist in somehow, the posts everyone said were to small, must have been changed, because they are the same size as oem, I just can not get over how low quality these are, the only decent looking part is the outside lens, they do look good after being installed, but That doesn't justify $50, I think $15 would be a better price for them

    worth the effort?

the cost is great but if you're only doing these you will still need to pull off your bumper. not sure if it's worth it for something so small. I would wait and do when doing headlights or a grill. something like that.

    Smoked Out

The smoked side marker lights look amazing! Take the old yellow marker off and put the new blacked out marker in. It was very simple and can be done by using basic hand tools and the provided step by step instructions. The plastic pegs used to retain the marker were small and I had to bend the little metal fasteners to get it to thread itself on tight enough to hold it in place.

    Just short of perfect

Great look after installation was done, but was disappointed with the lack of installation directions and the baffling omission of the necessary hardware. Not what I've come to expect from an AM supplied product. Luckily, this was relatively easy to recover from and the final result looks outstanding on a black car.

Excellent compliment to the smoked raxiom halos i already installed

Front tires must be removed. Pretty simple install. The metal nuts you take off the factory lights are to big for the new ones. Bennet auto sells a pack of the same metal nuts with all different sizes. Excellent look. Must have if you get the smoked halos.

    Studs to small

Great light and makes the car look great but I wish the manufacturer had made the mounting studs the same size as the OEM light. The OEM speed nuts were just a bit to big. It was just as easy to make them the same size to make the job go faster with less frustration.
