Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with, and I’m checking out Raxiom’s chrome projector headlights, equipped with the dual CCFL halo feature, fitting all 99-04 Mustangs. Raxiom has been known to come through with some very unique lighting for your Mustang, suiting every style from retro to modern. In addition, all their lighting is backed by their industry leading 2 year warranty, just for a little added peace of mind. I think we can all agree that these particular lights from Raxiom fall into a more modern category and it’s easy to see why. We’re looking at a dual projector headlight lens, surrounded by modern CCFL halo accents. Those two features alone make for a very sleek package. However the styling is taken a step further by those three white LED’s which really shine with the halos whenever the headlights are on. Finally, all of this modern lighting is brought together, thanks to the clean, bright chrome housing. Thanks to the design of the New Edge Mustangs headlights, removal and installation of the housing itself is a task that anyone should be able to accomplish with ease, however you will need to splice in the halos and the LED lighting into your parking lights using the quick splice connectors. Doing all this should stretch the install time to about 45 minutes. So if you’re looking to freshen up the headlights in your New Edge Mustang, and you want to introduce a little modern styling in the process, then be sure to check out these chrome CCFL halo projectors from Raxiom, right here at

how bright are these Halo headlight conpaired to stock ones? I have upgraded bulbs but have stock headlight and I was in parking lot of a sports bar and car next to me had halos headlight and was showing off brightness on side of building and wanted me to turn mine on to show his friends how much better his was mine were brighter and 3 to 4 times larger spot on wall so how much brighter are they or is it mostly for looks

  • i upgraded my stock lights up to the ultra bright bulbs which were suppose to be 45% brighter but i really didnt see a difference , could be brighter on high beam only. back to your question halo headlight bulbs range from 8000 lumens up to 15000 lumens and the beam of light is focused so they throw out a brighter beam , just light an adjustable beamed frashlight. hope this helps. pappy

Can the CCFL Halo and LEDs be replaced If in the future these lights fail are there replacement parts I can purchase to repair the CCFL Halo and LED lights?

  • We don't carry any replacement pieces; however, these Raxiom Headlights are offered with a 2-year warranty should you have any problems in the future.

Daytime running lights I often use the daytime running lights. Is this headlight a purely all on/all off affair or can I switch to use the daytime running lights?

  • The halos are wired independently of the headlights themselves, which reuse the factory plugs. When I wired these on my fiance's car, I wired the halos in to the day time running lights so they would turn on with those.

Can you use a HID kit for these headlights? I saw in the comments were some people added a HID kit to the headlights. I want sure if you could use them or not on these headlights. If so do the HID kiss mess up the headlights?

  • Simply put, yes you can. I have HID in mine and have no problem. I am running the 35 watt with the 6000k bulbs. I've heard that the 55 may run too hot so that something to consider. I also had mine installed by a professional because it takes a different type of light than the stock.

Replacement Bulbs Being that the Raxiom low beam bulbs are not as strong as I thought they would be, is it possible to swap out the low beam bulbs for a stronger bulb?

  • Yes you definitely can, I would recommend the ZXE lights or even having a professional install HID's that's what I did for mine. Just make sure if you buy bulbs are H7

Does the driving lights come without turning the parking lights on Are the running lights an individual light from the parking lights.

  • No , the " running lights " are spliced into the parking lights so that when you turn on the parking lights , the accent lights come on as well .

    Amazing Transformation

I love these Raxiom Chrome Dual Halo Projector Headlights! Delivery time was 4 days from time of purchase. My installation time breakdown was like this: about 50~60 minutes sealing the lights with RTV Clear Silicone (including drying time), about 10 minutes removing the stock headlights, and about 5 minutes installing these new ones. Extremely easy! Makes my '03 V6 pony look fierce! Beware though: The included instructions are OK, but they seemed to vary greatly from the video instructions on this site. Once I unpacked these lights, I discovered that the only wiring that had to be spliced in was the LEDs, but I wasn't thrilled about the instructions for splicing: "...strip...existing", blah, blah, blah. In my opinion, using suitcase connectors is a far better option than trying to strip wiring and intertwine new leads. So here's what I ended up doing. I headed over to the local Wal-mart and picked up some RTV clear silicone for sealing. While I was there, I also picked up four 22-18 gauge wire tap splice connectors (suitcase connectors). Both of these are found in the automotive section. And, in case you don't have any, stop by the hardware section and pick up a cheap pair of pliers. You'll need them for crimping each splice. Four wires. Four connections. Boom! You're done! Couldn't be easier! And did I mention that these lights look amazing?!?

    Great Looking lights

Got these lights in 2 days but once i got them, opened them up and checked the video to help me install them i was at a standstill. Now i dont know if what i got was a newer version of what the video has but when i opened my box the lights only had the connection to the main source and a BLACK and BLUE LED light. The instructions were horrible. Blurry pictures asking me to splice into the "coffee" wire? Nobody from googe, to my dad, to a mechanic had no clue what the hell a coffee wire was. So i hooked them up and all i get is normal lights. No brights, no LED. And of course Raxiom's website doesnt work so i cant ask them what that wire is. So now im forced to take my car to someone to do it for me. Other than that i like the way they look and cant wait to get them working.

    Wild look

Just installed and aligned them and they look great on my 2000 Saleen!! They really compliment the styling of the car along with adding a modern touch. As a bit of advice, be sure to follow the directions from as the instructions with the kit are no good. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the SilverStar headlamp upgrade as you'll be disappointed with the lamps included. This is a very cool upgrade and is sure to make your ride unique!

    Read This Before You Buy

I am an engineer and have lived with these headlights for one year now. This is my second set of projector headlights, the first being a different brand. Other than that they are decent looking headlights, here are the problems I have observed so far. 1) The low beam and high beam are impossible to adjust individually. Either the high is way too high or the low is way too low. 2) One of the reasons I change to these is that I expected the CCFL halo to be brighter (like BMW's) than the regular halos. They are not any brighter than the old halos. 3) Both headlights vibrated up and down because of the loose clearances of the mouting brackets. I had to resort to placing 1/4" aluminum strips under each headlight to stop the shaking. 4) One of the headlights has a jagged shadow across the top of the low beam that is clearly visible when shining on a wall. 5) As with the other projector lights I had, these project about half the light of stock lenses. I even sprung for the $60 per pair ZXE bulbs but these lights still aren't very bright. So guys in summary, I know you want this look on the front of your car, but I for one wish I had my money back.

    Great appearance poor visibility

Installed the lights and they made my car look better than new. However, the lights could not be adjusted so no night driving. I thought I just recieved a defective pair so I re-ordered another set. Same pore results ith the adjustments as the lights cropped off at 10 feet. The return went great and I will order from AM again, but not these lights. It is ashame to as they really looked great.

Great looks on or off but fogs up with moisture

These look great, doesn't matter if they're on or off, they look great. The 1st car wash they fogged up with moisture. That was the day they were installed. I haven't seen what they'll do in a Florida rain yet. Installation was a breeze. Thanks, Ken

Nice to look at but have some issues with product.

These lights are very nice to look at but for my 2002 V6 Mustang they did not fit as well as they ought too; a sizeable gap was left between the weather striping on the lights and the body of the vehicle. Also, the low beam lights are bright but only shine a short distance in front of the car with no adjustment means on the lights to alter their focus.

    Shiny, poor fit.

American Muscle has some great products but I'm not as satisfied with this purchase as I had hoped. When I unpacked the box the lights looked outstanding and at night they look impressive. However my issue with the lights is that during the day you can tell that they don't fit as well as the stock lights without leaving gaps. Normally the weather stripping on the lights would hide the gap but it isnt' big enough on these lights. I like the look of the lights but I don't want to put on something shiny that draws attention where there is a defect. So i'm going to put the stock lights back on and try to sell the pair I bought on ebay or craigslist since I can't return them.

    new lights

I bought these lights along with the billet grill combo, and chin spoiler. Talk about changing the looks of my mustang! Amazing new look that is much more aggressive. Also, this was a much needed improvement over my cloudy stock headlights. Make sure you follow the directions on sealing these lights, as they will condensate if you don't. Installation was simple. Great product for the price.

Just installed these on my 2000 GT. They look awesome and although they came with light bulbs, I installed the optional Silverstars and they are nice and bright. The only trouble I had with them was with one of the LEDs towards the center, so I simply did not wire the inner on both. If you purchase the optional bulbs, I recommend you be ready to dismantle the housing to install all four bulbs and then seal it of course, which is not very difficult. Also, one of the lights was packaged a little sloppy and I had to stick the boxes with the wires running through them back on. Very minor problems overall. All in all a great product. Looks very good and works great! 5 Stars.
