Improves Exhaust Flow. Ford actually did a nice job on the stock Catalytic Converters, but the stock H-pipe could use some improvement. That's where the Ford Racing Clamp On X-Pipe comes into play. Designed to balance out the exhaust gas pressure in your system, this X-pipe will help improve exhaust flow for more power and sound.

Reuses Stock Cats. The installation of the Ford Racing Clamp On X-pipe does not require any cutting or welding, it just installs in place of the stock H-pipe, using your stock clamps. And best of all it reuses the factory catalytic converters saving you money.

Quality Materials. Constructed from sturdy 2.75" mandrel bent T-409 Stainless Steel tubing the Clamp On X-Pipe will improve exhaust flow and last a lifetime.

Application. This Ford Racing Clamp On X-Pipe is a specifically designed for use on the 2011-2014 GT Mustangs with the Coyote 5.0L engine.

    Great sound, terrible fitment

I ordered this X Pipe go compliment my Ford Racing Sport axle back on my 2011 5.0. I wanted a more refined, European tone to the exhaust and it definitely delivered that, however the fitment was very bad. The X pipe is about 1/4" too narrow at the cat flanges. In order to fit properly I had to use a loop ratchet on the cats go bring them together by about 1/4" inch, apply a bead of high temp gasket silicone to he X pipe flanges, and then use another loop ratchet attached o the x pipe and a cross beam on the front suspension to forcefully pull the X pipe flanges onto the cat flanges and then tighten the clamps. The install was VERY tedious and if I knew better I probably would have opted or the more expensive Magnaflow or Corsa clamp on X pipes as fitment on those would likely be better. But, now that I have the X pipe installed I am pleased with the sound... It is exactly what I was looking for.

I also had issues with fitment. I had to use a port-a-power to widen the front of the pipes by about 1/2" to get them to fit. The flare isn't as large as the factory H pipe, so I had an exhaust leak that required a different clamp to correct. I expected a better fit from a Ford racing part.

    easy to install

I had no fitment problems or issues, just unbolt the stock h-pipe and bolt up the new one. I had to cut/drill out one spot weld on each h-pipe clamp in order to reuse them on the new x- pipe. The hardest part was unbolting the front clamps since they were installed with the head of the bolt between the pipe and floor.

    The disappointing finish and quality.

Because dimensions do not accord with a shape of "X-PIPE" to an existing exhaust pipe, the clamp on is impossible. Like other reviews, it was necessary to revise the bending of the pipe. The finish of the welding was bad, and many metal dregs stayed in a pipe. I removed welding waste in the plumbing and had to polish the plumbing inside of the junction. However, the wearing is simple if a correction is carried out appropriately. I am satisfied with an exhaust sound after having attached X-PIPE very much.

Great fit, finish and sound quality

After reading some of the fit issues, I was concerned about the FRPP X-Pipe. However, those all seemed to be early reviews so there may have been "first batch" issues. The FRPP X-Pipe I purchased aligned right up to the cat ball flanges and tail pipe slip joints like it was designed to without any issues. I would recommend fitment to the cat ball flanges first and after ensuring the X-Pipe is in alignment with the cat pipes, tighten the clamps. A small angle is OK and will seal but too much angle will ensure an exhaust leak is present. Once the ball flange clamps are tight (30 ft/lbs), move backward with tightening and aligning the pipes at the slip joints. Get the slip joints aligned and tighten the slip joint clamps (45 ft/lbs). Start engine, check for leaks and then have fun! All in all, about 2-1/2 hours from start to finish.

    GTCS2012

Bought this X-Pipe for my 2012 GT/CS the fit was awful, had to be put into a pipe bending machine to get it to fit at all. The cones that hook up to the factory catalytic converters almost took 3 hours to get them to seal. Finally had to put some exhaust pipe adhesive to get it to stop leaking. In my opinion it's a design problem if you compare it to the factory H-Pipe you can see that there's not enough room for the clamp to seal the connection. Would not recommend this product at all.

Fit Perfectly, Sounds awesome with Roush AB

I had the FRPP after cat x-pipe installed by a shop and they installed it in 20 minutes. It leaked afterwards BUT it was because they put the clamp on incorrectly. They had it angled. I climbed under the car the next night and loosened and repositioned the clamp so it was straight and the leak was gone. If installed correctly (assuming no shipping damage to the pipe) it fits perfectly.

Great Sound, Not So Great Fit

Had a shop install it. Made a hissing sound. Had them re-do it. Still made hissing sound. I then went to local auto parts store and covered the connections with a muffler tape then re-clamped it - Problem solved.

    2011 gt/cs ford racing x pipes

Everything bolted up just fine. It definitely quieted down my car from the magnaflow muffler delete I had installed. My car sounds now more like a race car at wot. Thanks American muffler for your fast shipping of the pipes and your excellent product knowledge.

Overall a good quality product. I like the tone it gave my exhaust. Had fitment issues around where it meets the cats. Other than that nothing and was an easy install.

Ford designed fitment that is perfect

I had read all the reviews and had some concern about fitment before buying this xpipe. I went ahead thinking perhaps sometimes "stuff" just happens and that isn't the norm. I was right, this part out of the box fit like a glove. Used the factory clamps (just cut them off the stock h pipe) and had this installed in about 30 minutes. (on a lift with pneumatic tools) It sounds great and functions exactly as described. You can't go wrong buying Ford Racing parts for your Mustang, and AM has all the deals with unbeatable customer service!

    Horrible Fit

I had the same problems that most other reviews address. The X Pipe was about 1.4 to 1/2 inch too narrow to bolt to the cats. I used a porta power to spread the pipes to get it to fit. Combined with the the FRPP GT 500 axle back the sound was just what I was looking for.

    X-pipe

Best Mod I have ever put on my Mustang to go along with a BAMA Tuner. Very noticeable change on speed and seems to be more open now, Love it! Did not have any problem installing it and only took me 2 hours on a garage lift.

    Simple installation, fit well.

Just put on the FRPP X-pipe for my 2011 GT. besides the Flowmatser Outlaw axle back this is the only other exhaust mod so far. The ease of installation was ok. The front clamps had the bolt head pointed up at the floor of the car so this lead to some minor difficulties removing them but, with a little paintience and a combination wrench it eventually came loose. other wise it was not much trouble installing this part. I liked the sound after installation and the noticeable difference in pedal response I felt right away. i would recommend this X-pipe. No fitment issues like some others had mentioned on thier installs.

I figured it would make my car louder but I did not. It did change the tone slightly. Overall I am very happy with the purchase
