Improves Handling. Eliminate the unwanted flex and twist commonly found with the poorly designed factory panhard bar. The J&M Mustang Adjustable Panhard Rod keeps the rear axle located in the optimum position under the rear of the car, dramatically improving cornering and overall handling.

On Car Adjustable. You can easily fine tune your suspension with the Panhard bar installed on your mustang just by turning a wrench, no need to remove it to make adjustments.

Upgradable Modular Design. J&M designed this Street Panhard bar to be upgradable to Street/Race or Race versions simply by replacing the ends. So there is no need to purchase a whole new panhard rod when you decide to upgrade your ride.

Superior Construction. This tubular adjustable panhard rod is manufactured from high strength billet aluminum alloy making it extremely strong and very light weight. Needed to adjust? So I've heard from some of my friends that an adjustable panhard rod is necessary if you lower your ride because your rear end will shift with the new lowering springs and the rod will push it back into place... Is this true?

  • 100% true. The rear end of your Mustang will shift when installing lowering springs. This panhard bar will recenter your axle under the car perfectly and will improve the overall handling. Definitely a great investment!

Do I need this and camber bolts? I just bought a 2014 GT and was looking at lowering it. Do I need a panhard bar along with the adjustable camber bolts?

  • I have the SR performance springs on my car with the J&M adj panhard bar. I don't have the camber bolts and don't' need them as of now. If you go lower than 1.5 inches you will need the camber bolts for sure. All lowered vehicles 05-14 need an adj panhard bar to align the rear end back to the center of the car.

    Installed with lowering springs to put rear back to center. Easy install and clear instructions included. Aluminum finish looks great and adjusting is a snap. Installation can be done in a garage by a novice.

    Job done right

    Adjustable Panhard Rod is strongly suggested when lowering a car to get geometry of the rear back in order. Functionality for the price is good. I decided to have it installed, just because I wanted it done 'yesterday', at the shop together with springs, shocks, struts and caster/camber plate and then do a complete alighnment. Mechanic told me that this panhard rod was easy to install and didn't cause any problems. As a package works very well, individually not tested.

    J&M Panhard Bar 05 GT

    Easy install during spring swap. Used a plumb bob to center the axle. Bit tricky tightening right side jam nut. Easiest way was to adjust the bar to the right jam nut then tighten left jam nut to the bar. 15 minutes to install maybe 10 minutes to adjust. No big deal. Car sits right and still launches straight. Very happy!

    Simple and Effective

    So I lowered the car and put big 285's out back. Well, the left tire was sticking out from the wheel well(yuck). The panhard rod was amazing. Once installed you can loosen the nuts and spin the center bar easily. This causes the body this shift left or right!!! It's so cool! Now everything is in order. Also, the rod stiffened the rear end a little. I noticed it right away as I was pulling out of the shop. Very cool product.

    J&M Adjustable Panhard Rod

    I used this piece when i lowered my 06 mustang gt. It went in quite easily and centered the axle under the car after the back dropped 1 1/2" inches. Much lighter than stock! Great quality product!

    Function Over Form

    I did a lot of research when looking for a panhard bar. The pros and the cons of each. My car is a street car 1st and a track car 2nd. So spherical bushings were not an option. I was not interested in paying more just to have a brand name panhard bar. This panhard bar is the definition of "function over form". It is not pretty, but it does its job very well. Instructions were spot on. Adjustments were not that bad on the passenger side either. Pull the bolt out drop the bar down, adjust, and reinstall.

    Easy do it yourself job

    Plan this out properly and it should be a fairly easy install. Instructions here on this page were much better than what came with bar so print them off and read them a couple of times. Have all tools at hand and should be good to go. Don't forget to torque bolts per instructions once done.

    Agreed, It works, simple

    I though, why are some panhards more expensive than others? Then I found out while installing this bar. There are no instructions or labels, so you have to use guesswork to put it together. Which sounds easy enough but keep in mind some parts are threaded the wrong way. Plus, as mentioned, there is no way to access jam nut on the upper bracket. This means you have to set it correctly while the bar is off the car. But hey, for the money, it works! I dont want to spend any more than I have to on a pan hard.

    Best one to have

    The bar itself is very easy to install. What make it the best one to have is the fact that it can be adjusted on the car. The rear end of the car shifts as a result of lowering it, so an adjustable panhard bar is necessary. However it is extremely difficult to measure it properly and determine how long or short it needs to be when it's off the car. So having the ability to just simply turn the bar with your hand, and properly line up the rear end, words cannot describe how much pressure is taken off your head. On top of all of that, it add a lot more structural rigidity to the car, and make it feel so much more stable.

    awesome especially for the price

    Installed the sr performance lowering springs on my car and this bar made a perfect addition to align the rearend back to center. The bar looks great, well built and very good packaging to prevent damages during shipping. The hardware and bushing are top notch quality pieces. Don't let the price fool ya!!

    Works But with Issues

    Nice bar but bad design The passenger side once adjusted can not be tighten properly You must set it all up and then drop the passenger side back down to tighten the locking JAM nut. This requires removing the rear sway bar. I would look for a better design in the future Perhaps one that is adjustable on only one side

    It works for me

    it worked great did what i wanted it to. moves the body tdc over axle as needed when lowering, a little hard to tighten down the jam nut on the upper braket you'll need some experiance to do this job.rod does stiffin rear end a little but it is not chrome like in the picture

    Bushing Sleeve Undersized = A "no fit"

    Pulled the stock part out with no issue. Greased up the bushings and then found one bushing sleeve inside diameter undersized at approximately 0.450". The other bushing sleeve was fine at approximately 0.550", the same size as the stock bolt. The undersized sleeve would not allow the stock bolt to pass through resulting in a wasted morning on a cold day in the garage. Called AM customer service, which went very well. I await a replacement next week (Christmas season delays). I have replaced the stock part and hope the replacement fairs better than this, my initial AM purchase.

    You get what you pay for.

    Arrived looking like it had been drug down a gravel road for 2 or 3 miles. Bushings look to have been used before. To top it off I couldn't get either of the rod ends to thread in. First and last product I'll buy from J&M

    Easy Install, Simple Fix

    I did not get an adjustable panhard bar when I initially installed lowering springs because I only lowered by car 1" up front and 1.5" in the rear. It's not necessary when you're lowering so little an amount. I got this when I installed coilovers and went about 2.5" down in the back. Then it's pretty necessary! Install was really easy because I had everything off anyway to install my coilovers, so I just had to pop out a couple extra bolts and install this. To begin with, just adjust to a little bit shorter than stock. I though adjusting would be difficult (having to lower and lift the car incessantly), but it turns out you simply adjust this with the car on the ground since it will cause the body to shift on top of the axle. Hang a piece of string from the fender above the center of each wheel and make sure the distance from the wheel to the string is equal on both sides! Then, tighten the bolts with a wrench and voila! All fixed.

    Installed JandM panhard bar in conjunction with a set of Hurst Stage I lowering springs. This product was well made and easy to install and adjust. Because I lowered my car at the same time I had my local performance shop do a 4 wheel alignment. He said the bar was easy to adjust. The combination of parts is perfect. The rear sway is significantly reduced especially during turns on rough surfaces. I would recommend this part to anyone wanting to lower their car but not looking for a dedicated track car although I am sure this product would work fine for that as well.
