It's a cap and rotor

Fits like stock but looks a lot better than the OEM cap. This is a aesthetic modification. My car seemed to idle a little smoother but that's probably due to the fact my original cap and rotor were worn.

Does having the spacer matter? Some other sites off the MSD cap & rotor with the spacer, I notice this doesnt offer the space, and seeing as I am about to change my cap and rotor I'm just wondering if the spacer matters?

  • If it is in good shape you can reuse your old spacer. If yours is cracked or has a clip missing you will have to get a new one.

Do need a msd spacer for this set up? The cap is not matching up with the tabs on my distributor.

  • I wonder if you are talking about the adapter that ford started using on small blocks so they could use a bigger cap

    It's a cap and rotor

Fits like stock but looks a lot better than the OEM cap. This is a aesthetic modification. My car seemed to idle a little smoother but that's probably due to the fact my original cap and rotor were worn. The top portion of the cap is a nice feature because it keeps your wires in place. If you have an suspension brace, the coil wire is a tight fit due to the wire holder. Not a big deal, but something to note.

    MSF Replacement Cap & Rotor

Had someone install this for my 1994 Mustang GT. Had major problems with the driving but I have seen major improvement since installation. Extremely satisfied. Piece was received in a timely fashion as well.

    Looks nice

Looks nice. Works great. Only problem was the plug wire boots didn't fit through the holes and they were MSD wires

    Cheaper then Advance.

I already had the MSD Built Discriminator 6Al initiation, and the SS blaster coil. It was time for a new cap & rotor. It was 3 Dollars less then at the store, and I only had to wait 3 Days from time to order to my front Door. I would recommend this product & ordering anything from A/M Great Service, aand quick free delivery! Thanks A/M

Nice product and splash of color

I got this as routine maintenance and it seemed to get the job done. I like the feature of the top piece. The only issue I had was the tight fit with the Live Wires, but made it work.

    great quality

I bought this as a replacement to my old and extremely worn out Motorcraft cap and rotor. Once installed, the engine ran smoother and was a bit snappier although that's probably just due to the fact that it's getting spark again. Everything is a good, quality mold and I couldn't find any defects anywhere. MSD came through as always and produced another durable piece that looks as good as it performs.

    Quality Product for the Money

Last year, I replaced my distributer with a new Ford one, and put a NAPA cap and rotor on it. Checked it out as the car was running a little funny, and less then 5k miles later, the NAPA cap and rotor was fried. The rotor ends and all the contacts on the cap were actually "bubbled" looking, just cooked and awful. Not wanting to repeat this next year, I looked to a different aftermarket part. Saw good reviews on the MSD, and decided to try it. The rotor isnt anything that special, though the contact end looked to be better metal then the NAPA one was. The cap however, is hands down superior quality in every regard. I work in injection molding, so I am familiar with the Rynite resin, and it is a quality material. The posts are solid brass, and the wires fit very well, as did the cap itself to the distributer. The "hold down cap" with the MSD logo really isnt needed, but it looks nice under the hood and covers the jumbled mess of wire ends so it cleans up the appearance. I didnt buy it for performance gains, but a cap and rotor is a maint. item, not a performance item. So if your cap is looking all cooked out on the posts, this MSD cap is for sure worth the little extra cash over an auto parts store house brand one for the big time quality benefits.
