window motor

fit was great..only downside if there is one is the fact the replacements are bolted in..so you provide your own hardware..the original is held in by "onetime" rivet type fastners.

what additional parts will i need to replace the power window regulator and motor on the 2004 v6 mustang. I understand that there is no hardward included with this part to install as the oem part is rivited in place and you will need bolts to put the new part in. I am trying to find out what bots and nuts i will need to put this part in so i can get them before i take the car apart.

  • I would rec going to ACE Hardware to find the bolts you need or call your local ford dealer or local body shop for proper nuts and bolts needed. In the past i have use the foctory rivits thats if you have a rivit gun.. If you use the rivits i rec getting those from ford..In the past i have found that on some parts ford OEM parts are cheaper and fitment is the way to go.. Saves alkot of time :) Good luck Vince

Well I have ordered stuff from here before and loved it, but this is not one of them!! The install went well, just take your time, circle the outer bolts with marker, this helps with alignment of new regulator. Problem started on way home after install. Spring inside regulator fell out, yes fell out! The inside of my car sounded like a dump truck. I got the part in May, did not install until end of July, so could not send back. I with the help of a good friend had to rig this new regulator to hold the spring in! Plus had to bind and pull to try to stop rattling! I say spend a lil more and get this piece somewhere else! I still love A.M. and will use them again, just not happy with this product!

    Working Windows

I purchased left and right side window regulators. Both fit better then expected. They were fairly easy to install and works great. Problems were that the window (drivers)lift are not correct and window raises higher then the original. Both required drilling out rivets and the kits did not include bolts to secure regulators.

    Works better than broken!

The window regulator is an exact fit and replica of the stock…heads up tho, make sure it is correctly assembled before you attempt to put it on, mine had an arm off the track it was supposed to be on..also your going to need to remove the plastic waterproofing member, try to keep it in best possible shape because you are going to put it back on with use spray mount. once that is off wedge the glass with some wood shims and remove the old regulator…before putting the new one in with 10mm bolts, washers & nuts, make sure that the window track is set on tracks properly…my regulator broke because the track near the front fell out, causing the regulator to bulge inward and crack…also slap some grease on the new regulator (moveable parts & gears..get messy then wipe down excess) and new/old tracks ..new regulator comes dry for the most part…once on, window works better than it did when broken!

    up up and away

The replacement power window assembly was an easy install. I was avoiding drive-throughs because of the oem unit breaking down. It took me an hour to install and test and re-install the door panels. Best purchase yet....

Driver side Window Regulator & Motor

Product works great! The factory regulator arms were weak and popped out of track the past 2 years. Finally replaced the factory with this regulator/motor and it has been very sturdy. The only issue is that I had to replace another factory connector that was worn down from the factory regulator. Other than that its a great product.

    THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

The regulator was a perfect fit for the original. We left the original track mounted to the window when we removed the old regulator by just bending the retaining tab on the right end and sliding out the regulator arms. We did the same with the new one so installation was just a matter of sliding the arms back into place and replacing the screws and nuts. The whole job took less than 30 minutes with the new unit a perfect replacement for the original.

    Works as expected

My daughter and I had to replace the regulator in the driver-side door in her '03 Mustang... the window would not roll down at all. The entire change-out took us around 2 hours and went very smoothly. The new regulator fit into place perfectly and worked beautifully. The only thing that confuses me a little with this regulator: why is the upper, window rail included but not the lower rail? The window rail is a pain to replace (so we reused the old one) but the lower rail needs to be removed and can be easily replaced.

    A good replacement part

I replaced an ailing regulator with this part. Went in with no problem. You can use a short bolt/nut in place of the factory rivets to attach the glass to the regulator.

    Works as promised

After a local ford garage quoted me $480 per door to replace the regulator/motor, I came to my old standby American Muscle and once again am a happy customer!! The LH window regulator was a spot on reproduction of the OEM. Was easy to pop in solo (took about 2 hours without someone to help hold widow up during swapout), and it works great. OEM was riveted in to the door, and you will need to drill/grind them out if you have a '95 like I do...you will need 4 6mm bolts and nuts/washers to complete the job. Grab yourself a pair of strong suction cups to hold your window up if doing it solo or you may have to fiddle with it to get back in track. Great product and recommend!!

    Power Window Regulator & motor

Fairly simple installation. Hardest part was finding a decent bonding material to keep the brackets attached to the glass. Come to find out, my particular car (1999 Mustang) had a recall for the brackets coming unattached. This was the primary cause for my original unit failing. Brackets came unattached and the control arms got bent. Replacement is a perfect fit. Finally settled on Gorilla Epoxy, made to bond glass and metal, among other materials. Brackets must be placed correctly. or the window will raise too high. as others have reported. End stops must also be adjusted properly. Simple do do. Info found by googling.
