Increased HP and torque. The 1999 to 2004 V6’s have dyno proven gains of 20HP and 20 ft-lb’s of Torque or more on Bama Custom Tunes.  That power translates into a more than noticeable performance gain, and it’s more than enough to knock a few tenths off your quarter mile time.  Automatic transmissions will see an even greater gain in acceleration and drivability, as the tune adjusts shift points and firmness.

Increase your mod's potential. When making performance modifications, you need to recalibrate the vehicle's computer to realize their full potential. A Cold Air Intake kit alone on a 99-04 V6 will net around a 5HP gain. Couple it with a Bama Custom Tune, and see a dyno proven gain of 30HP and 30 ft-lb’s TQ total, or more.

Switch Tunes On The Fly. One of the biggest benefits of a chip over a tuner is the ability to switch between tunes at a moments notice. There is no need to wait minutes for downloads to complete, just turn the dial and your ready to go.

Easy to load; easy to restore. Not only is the SCT 4-Bank Chip easy to load on your vehicle with the supplied 6ft cable and dial selector, it is just as easy to restore to your factory settings with the turn of the dial.

Free tunes for life! Every customer that purchases a tuner is enrolled in the "Free tunes for life" program. Any time that you make additional mods to your vehicle, our team of SCT certified Bama Custom Tuners will create new tunes for you.

Custom Bama Tunes specific to your vehicle. When you order a tuner, you aren't just getting a tuner - you are getting the tuner and 3 dyno-tested custom Bama tunes:

  • Street (87-93 octane) - The street tune is designed as a daily driver program that focuses on increasing mid-range power. Automatic vehicles are further enhanced by making adjustments to the transmission's shift points and firmness.

  • Performance (87-93 octane) - The Performance program is designed to add power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. Timing, fuel and throttle response settings are slightly more aggressive than the street tune. This is a great track tune but also works well for daily drivers that are looking for a little more "get up and go" than the street tune. The automatic transmission settings are the same as in the street tune.

  • Race (91-93 octane) - The race tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race Use Only", as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. It is so aggressive that we do not recommend it for daily driving as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. On automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.

Nitrous (91-unleaded race gas) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91-octane unleaded fuel.

Chip vs. Tuner What is the difference in the chip and the tuner?? The tuner cost more than the chip but the but the chip picks up more horse power? And the chip also does better on gas?? How is that so?

  • First off, there are no differences in power or fuel efficiency with the chip and tuners. The reason for the chip is it works with OBDI cars which is anything '95 and older. The tuner works on OBDII cars because they have a port to plug into that's directly connected to the PCM. Now the benefit of the tuner is that you can make adjustments yourself, like for a different size tire or a gear change, you can correct the speedometer. The tuners can also read your trouble codes or check engine lights. The chip plugs directly into your PCM and the user has no adjust-ability available. I always suggest the tuner of the chip if you have an OBDII Mustang!

I have 2001 V6 ..that i drive on the weekend's...plan to order mods and upgrade parts one part at a time....if i would buy a chip would they program it all at once or they would have to do one mod at a time

  • With the Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes, Bama Performance will program the modifications that are currently on your vehicle. If you add or remove modifications, the chip would need to be reprogrammed to operate currently.

How much Hp am I looking to gain on stock 2000 v6 5 speed??

  • The Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes can yield up to 20hp & 20ft-lbs of torque on a stock application, and even more with aftermarket performance parts.

How do we know which tunes are which on the dial? there are 7 notches and only 3 tunes. is 1 street, 2 performance, 3 race???

  • The Bama 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ 3 Custom Tunes (99-04 V6) does have 7 notches on the dial. The first 3 should be your customer tunes, the rest will just have the stock tune as the placeholder.

As many of us know, there are a lot of great high mileage mustangs out there. My car happens to be just over 86,000. Is it safe to run this chip on performance/race tune on a well maintained higher mileage engine or would you advise against it? My main concern being that the advanced timing that creates the power and torque would also create increased cylinder pressure and as a result could be detrimental especially to a higher mileage engine. I will trust the judgement of the AM staff on this one.

  • I have 145,000 on my 2004 GT mustang and I use the BAMA 93 Octane Race tune on my car, which I drive daily in all weather. As long as your car is in good mechanical condition then I would say go for it. Our BAMA custom tunes are developed with these cars on our In-house dyno to ensure a safe and effective tune.

I have a 2001 v6 with a cold air kit headers cat back dual exhaust and high output coil with high capacity wires. Do I need a custom tune right away or will this work from the get go?

  • This chip will carry BAMA tune for your setup before it is shipped out to you. Once you get the chip, all you will need to do is install it and you'll be all set.

    Great Product

The car feels so much more responsive. Installation was a breeze - cleaning the contacts took less than 15 minutes with an exacto knife and some 320 sandpaper, less than a hour start to finish. Only complaints are it took 2 weeks from order to delivery and the tune selection switch is microscopic. If you are going to settle on one turn and leave it, no problem. If you plan to change tunes often, better get a magnifying glass. Overall, it is a great product that delivers on it's claims. Well worth the money.

Makes all the mods work exactly how they are supposed to

This was the best $300 I have spent on my car. The stock ECU and my cold air intake just did not get along and made it very noisy. Also, the stock transmission shift points (automatic) drove me nuts. This chip made my car run and drive like a newer car. It sounds better, too. I mostly run mine on the street tune just because the transmission settings are the same. I only used the race tune once and it was ridiculous. It definitely makes use of every bit of power your engine has. With the street tune, I can keep up with a GT until about 50-60, which was laughable before. For my automatic daily driving Mustang, this chip made a huge difference!

    No Liar, Pants on Fire!

They say performance is in the combo. I wanted a fox body with a/c, good looks, and street legal in Utah with killer performance. All smog stuff is hooked up and all I can say is Wowser! My built 347 was quick from 20 mph up (2.73 rear and AOD) but now, I am afraid my transmission will fry. This little SSP Stang will blow away my old '67 Dodge R/T. Smooth Idle for a Comp Cam with 10.7 to1 compression ratio. Night and day difference she screams now. Get the chip.

    Big BANG for your buck

I wont lie, it was a pain in the @$$ to get the computer in and out, but other than that it was fairly easy. I dont reccomend using a blade to scrape off the epoxy, i was able to scratch it off with my finger nails without damaging anything. But wow what a difference it made, mpg and power.

No matter what you do to a car it will never perform to its full potential without a custom tune. Not only does this particular product allow you to have multiple tunes but it provides you with the ability to change them without plugging in a piece of equipment and then flashing a new tune into the car. Also, The tuning guys at BAMA tuning are very helpful and are easy to get a hold of. My Stang has noticeably more power and with a full out race tune sounds amazing.

    Sct 4 Bank Eliminator on 2001 V6

Well. To start, this chip is freakin awesome. Used the 87 tune on the way to the gas station to put 93 in it, noticed a little pickup nothing big, but holy #$%# when I put it on racing with 93 in it, I accidentally burned rubber for like 20 ft. MAJOR difference. Like spooge in pants different. Took some time to install, but it was hard just frustrating cuz the 10mm screw is in a weird spot. If you have a V6 and a few bolt ons its awesome, sure its even better with a V8. Also my product was marked shipped at 8am and I had it today. Awesome service from AM, Thanks guys!

    4 Bank Chip

This product works excellently. I tried out the 87 performance tune first. I didn\'t really notice a big difference except for a little quicker takeoff and really firm shifts. When I put some 93 in the car and switched to that performance tune it was a HUGE difference. Definitely worth the money and it does everything it says it does. 04 3.9l CAI/Full exhaust

    SCT 4 Bank chip

Previously, I had a Superchip in my 99 Base Model Mustang and didn't feel much of a difference. The Superchip eventually gave out on me.But with the Sct chip that I bought made a major difference on my acceleration. I strongly recommend this product if you have light mods, but i think it would work best for the V8 owners. Thanks AMERICAN MUSCLE I'll be buying more of your products soon. Strongly recommended for V6 and V8 owners.

    SCT chip

I learned something through this chip thing. I never talked to a rep at American Muscle before this. That person was very helpful and professional with just enough everyday person mixed in. The chip. i have quite a few bolt ons. this one is soooooo cool. it took about 45 min. to install. the prep on the contacts was easier than what the vid leads on. the rubber protectant on the contacts came off very easy. and the small greenie weenie that came with it to get the contacts to a good conectivity point was all that was needed. The outcome. Wow! I burned up my tires in 1, 2 and 3. I let off before 4th. highway. 3rd is useful now. will put you back in the seat going around cars. and the sound when you let off is amazing. lots of backpressure (blop blop blop blop). Very cool

    Big Difference

a little tough to install, just make sure you sand all the way down. i used a very fine grit sandpaper to take the initial layer off then finished up with the pad included. BIG difference when you go fill up with 93 and put it on the performance tune. chirps tires when shifting into 3rd at 3500 rmps no problem. ~2001 3.8L V6, BBK CAI, true duel flowmasters w/ custom X pipe, helix TB spacer, SCT Performance custom tuner

    great product

This chip does exactly what it says it will do. It added more power and torque and it even corrected some idle problems i was having with my car. The only problem i have with it is that I feel I lost more fuel efficienty than I had hoped to. I follow the guide given in reference to which selection does what, but, and I may be wrong, I thought the street tune was supposed to take the mods you have and using a higher octane gasoline improve things such as gas milage?
