Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is our appearance Bolt-On Build-Up for all 94-98 Mustang GTs. Now as you can see, we really raised the bar in regards to our exterior styling, with our Grabber Blue SN-95 here. We were able to do this using 15 or so different appearance parts that just about anybody can bolt up, in the comforts of their own driveway or garage. Now with the exception of these headlights a majority of the parts used in our appearance pack stayed true to the Mustang bloodlines. Take for instance, our Cobra R-style hood, Saleen-style spoiler, Bullitt wheels and Bullitt fuel door. Now that's just the tip of the iceberg. What do you say we take a closer look at some of the other parts used in our build, that really separated our GT from being just another Mustang build. For starters, we really went to town with our AmericanMuscle Graphics, and why not, since they're made right here in house? First up, we installed these Matte Black Rocker Stripes, which will give our GT a touch of that heritage style. In addition, to further help tone down the brightness of our Grabber Blue paint, we decided to tint just about every light we could, using some of our AmericanMuscle Graphics tint. This includes our Quarter Marker Lights, our 3rd Brake Light, and also our Tail Lights as well. Now using our AmericanMuscle Graphics tint is full of benefits. For one, it's very easy to install. It's also going to be pretty easy on your wallet, and I think we can all agree it really helps turn up the aggressive styling on our GT. A final piece of that AmericanMuscle Graphic can be found right here, with our Black Rear Lower Balance Panel, which is working nicely with our Black Bumper Insert Letters. Now these insert letters are a subtle addition to the rear bumper, and fill the void perfectly. Now these letters are made from 100% stainless steel, which is going to offer you quality, along with durability, and of course that black finish was a no-brainer on our build. These are a must-have for sure for any SN 95. We have a couple of Raxiom products spread around the car, two of which can be found right here in the tail lights. Now we, much like many other Mustang enthusiasts, love sequential tail lights. So we installed Raxiom's Plug-n-Play sequential tail light kit, along with their turn signal modifier. Now this slows the light pattern down, and really allows the entire package to shine. Moving on to the side of the car it's pretty obvious where I'm going next. Nothing says AmericanMuscle more than a set of staggered bullet wheels, and that's exactly what we have going on here. We were able to shove a massive 18x10 in the rear, along with 18x9s up front, all sporting some new rubber from Sumitomo, which should really help our grip, along with our looks, thanks to that black and polished lip combination. Wrapping things up on the front of the car, you'll see a very popular mod with this Mach1 style chin spoiler. Now this spoiler really finishes off the front of the car, and gives the illusion that the car itself is actually a little lower to the ground. Finally, we have one more product from Raxiom, I'm referring to their Smoke Projector Halo headlights. Now these are probably the most radical part we've included in our build in regards to modern styling. Now they feature the very cool Halo accent lighting, which is certainly unique to say the least. So what did we accomplish with our build? Well, we blacked just about everything out, we added parts with some classic Mustang DNA, and threw in some modern styling, just to mix it all up. The end result, in my opinion is understated and over the top at the same time, and what I mean by that is, look at any one area of the car, take the rear end for instance. We have the spoiler, the tail lights, the fuel door. All these parts have been modified, but they don't scream parts catalog. That's because they all work so well together that, to the untrained eye, could be mistaken as factory additions. So that wraps up our build with the 98 GT here. Be sure to check out some of our other 94-98 Bolt-On Build-Ups, where we get our handling in check, and crank up the power.

How is this tint different from window tint? A long time ago I tried tinting my tail lights with normal window tint, but it did not go so well. I know a flat surface doesn't fit well on a curved surface. Will your product fit my 1996 curved taillights "easily"?

    Careful !!!!!

Bought the whole package - tail light tint, third brake light tint, side panel reflector tint. Installation was easy, looks awesome ! Two weeks later, pulled over by TX DPS. Got ticket for "blackout" tail lights. According to TX law - "any alternate or additional material, particularly something dark, would impair effectiveness and is prohibited." DO NOT recommend for Texas. Money thrown away !! Check your state laws first !

    Looks Great!

Install was a bit more involved than anticipated but nothing to bad. Requires removal of the bezel. To do so, remove the entire rear tail light assembly, on the bottom are 3 Phillips head screws, remove them, and onclip the bezel from the top. Apply the tint and reattach the bezel. Looks great and doesn't interfere with the brightness of your tail lights.

    harder than it appears

This is a great product that's is exactly what it says .. it's just alot harder and more time consuming than they say it is . Be ready with every thing u need for the install take ur time and it will turn out great ... trust me right when ur to the point of ripping it off out of frustration calm down take a breath and keep working it it will lay like it should just takes patience. Two people makes the process a little bit easier. They look great when it's done only down fall is at night with lights on if u look closely u can see a little bit of the adhesive and a few smudges from where it wasn't cleaned perfectly from a distance it looks crystal clear though . If I had to do it again I would take them to a professional painter and have them truly tinted

    GREAT!!!

Was kinda worried about the "tint" knowing regular tint does not work on taillight but this is a whole different type of material used so it makes it 100 times easier to install. the only thing i dislike is the heat gun part. i didnt do so good during that part so mine came out a little messy but just take ur time or let someone who is good at tinting do it. AMAZING!!!

    Easy install and GREAT look!!!!!

If you've never worked with tinting before, you might be a little intimidated by this product. DONT BE!! This was so easy to install on my factory lights. The hardest part was getting the painted bezel off the light assembly itself. With the use of a hair dryer to make the tinting a little more pliable while working it around the curves and contours, I was done with both lights in 15 minutes.

    Tinted

Aye the heat gun or blow dryer is key to success. Have everything that you need. And don't feel like its already messed up. Just center it, then blow dry and squeegee, any excess just cut it. I got likes on Instagram haha! Follow me on IG @ JahyRod

    Overall pretty good

I'm pleased with how the lights ended up looking after I installed. Instead of just installing them from the outside of the car, I learned after doing my first light panel that I needed to take out my tail lights from the trunk and take off the painted section to just reveal the three individual lights. Make sure that you spend your time putting these on because you want to make sure to get NO bubbles underneath. The bubbles are a pain in the butt to get out and the squeegee that was supplied can "wrinkle" up the air bubbles. It was definitely a pain in the buttt and ended up taking me about 30 minutes per light section, so about three hours in total. At the end, it definitely makes the rear end of my car look better, but you can tell that the tint was a pain to put on. Also, the tint is a little large, so the3 curves of the lights will have excess tint. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat it up and kind of stick it down. Overall, it was a good product, just be careful putting them on! Time is the trick on this one.

    Looks good if done right!

They do take time to install, the hardest part of the whole installation is working out the bubbles, they can get annoying at times but once you get the finished product its worth it.
