When lowering a Mustang, we do not recommend lowering any more than 2”. There are a couple reasons for this. First, lowering more than 2” could cause wheel and tire clearance issues. You will notice that many of the kits listed on our site will lower your Mustang between 1”-1.75” at the most. This allows for optimum suspension performance and no clearance issues. We have had no issues with our kits when used with the recommended 17” and 18” wheel and tire combinations. With 20” wheels there have been rubbing issues on Mustangs lowered over 1.5”, but not always.
*We recommend race springs for anyone who runs their car at a track or is trying to improve the cornering ability of their vehicle.
*We recommend street springs for daily drivers whose goal is looks, over performance.
Spring isolators are used to minimize the noise created by a metal spring making contact with is mount. Ford installs rubber isolators on the mustang from the factory, but they wear out over time. Replacing them with some aftermarket polyurethane isolators will not only minimize road noise, but it will also help absorb impact and make for a smoother quieter ride.
If any of the following apply, it is probably time to start thinking about new shocks and struts:
I'm pretty certain this is the best shopping experience I've ever had. I found what I wanted on AmericanMuscle.com, then did some price shopping and ended up coming back and order from them because they had the lowest price AND free shipping too. I honestly look forward to spending more money with American Muscle. They have customer submitted photos in addition to their great product photography as well as installation guides from users and manufacturers. Their videos are honest and incredibly useful. I can't think of anything else I'd like to see from them. Ryan B
