If I were to purchase would my car throw a check engine light? If I don't get the Bama power flash tuner?

  • Your car will throw a check engine light as you will be changing the size of the headers, the flow rate and the location of the O2 bungs. You will need to have Bama or another tuning specialist retune your vehicle to accommodate the new changes in your exhaust setup.

I have Roush Axlebacks on my Mustang, the rest of the exhaust system is stock. Would I have to cut anything or if I just give the pipes and headers to a shop would they be able to put them on without problem?

  • You should not need to cut anything in order to install these headers and x-pipe. They will clamp on to the factory over axle pipe. We do recommend getting a tune for this set up. If you already have a Bama tuner, you can simply request a new tune. Though, if you do not, you may be interested in the Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 2 Custom Tunes (11-14 GT, 12-13 BOSS), item # 101200G11, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/x4-custom-tuner-2011gt.html). The tunes will adjust the car to the increased airflow, thus creating more power.

What's is the difference between this one and the stainless power ones (Item 390793-A 390793-A)?

  • The only difference between the two kits would be that item # 101825 comes with a natural finish while item # 390793-A is simply a stainless steel construction. They are both made from 1-7/8" mandrel bent 302 stainless steel tubing with a 3/8" thick header flange. Both also include an x-pipe. Though, Stainless Power Long Tube Headers w/Factory Connect gives you the option of having an off-road or catted x-pipe while the other does not.

Will these hook up to a flowmaster outlaw catback exhaust?

  • The Flowmaster Outlaw Cat-Back Exhaust w/ X-Pipe - Stainless Steel (13-14 GT), item # 18444, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/flowmaster-ss-outlaw-catback-13gt.html) comes with an X-Pipe. In order to make the Headers and this Cat-Back work together, you can only use one X-Pipe. Also, they will not be a direct bolt on to each other. This installation will require you to do some modifications. We recommend professional installation of these parts.

Just wondering does this system also fit the 12-13 Boss? I would assume it would seeing as how they are both 5.0's and of the same design. Just curious if these do not then what headers do fit the Boss 302? Also looking at catbacks as well I see models for the GT but not the Boss is this the same case as well. Thanks for the help.

  • These headers will work with the Boss 302 model as well. The only problem you will face is the Boss 302 is equipped with the specific H pipe with that will have the cut outs that come out the side of the car as well as different diameter piping. You will either need to have that mid pipe adapted to fit the headers or purchase the matching mid pipe and have it mounted to the car.

How will these work with a VMP stage 2 super charge? For some reason it won't let me pick a sub model... 2013 GT

  • Yes, these headers will fit with a supercharger as the supercharger does not modify the exhaust. They will require a re-tune.

    Loud and pricey

    My 2012 had Roush axlebacks on it, holy s*** is it loud now. As far as performance, i cant say it justifies $1600, but the sound, thats worth a good amount. Install wasnt for beginners, pay somebody if u dont have a lift. Necks are snapping when i drive by, that part is fun. If its sound you want buy it, if it's power you want, keep saving for the supercharger.

    perfect fit, wicked sound

    Took six hours on lift with an extra hand, fit, finish and sound are spot on. Tons of clearance around steering, great ground clearance as well. Instructions were useless, and the o2 extension is garbage and won't make a connection, so I got a cel. Would recommend buying a new o2 sensor,from the raptor that is 18 inches long. But overall product is awesome!

    Best headers out there

    Very loud! Nice hp gains. Definitely get a lot of head turning while I'm driving down the road. Nothing compares to stainless works
