Need help? I have a Mustang GT 98 and want to buy a 2003 cobra wheels 17x9 17x10.5 ....... as I might say that I need spacers for the rear wheels 17x10.5?

AngelLeal78

  • If you purchase the American Muscle recommended wheels sizes, no spacers needed. There are plenty of pictures in the wheel and tire section to gauge what the wheels will look like from any angle. Wheel/tire recommendations are grouped into '94-'04 Mustangs.

2001 cobra I bought 10.5 inch rims for my back tires, and when i went to put them on there was a little rubbing. The tire was hitting the lower subframe bolt but the clearance was questionable all around. Will these fix my problem?

sammyp

  • It sounds like you still have the OE subframe bolts installed. With 17x10.5 wheels on your 2001 IRS Cobra, you need Low-Profile Subframe bolts for the perfect fit. You shouldn't need any spacers with 17x10.5 wheels. I've attached the bolts below so you can take a look. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to give us a call at your earliest convenience!

Are these spacers hub escentric?

CurtisG1966

  • If eccentric means what I think it means then no, these are perfectly balanced and centered when the lugs are torqued correctly, simply extending the original axis of the hub. I've had zero issues with vibration up to 90mph. I have no exceeded this speed.

Does it affect performance? I'm planning to buy some spacers for my 2000 v6 mustang to give it that aggressive look, but I always wondered if it would have any impact on performance?

stanglife91

  • I installed 1" spacers on my '94 GT. I did/do feel the difference in the tracking of the rear end. I can tell the wheels are 2" further apart. And as far as the look goes, it makes all the difference! The car looks so much better with the wheels basically flush with the opening. The factory "tucked in" look always made me crazy. These spacers will hold me over until I can get a set of staggered wheels.

Fit on 17 rims by 10.5 on 315 tires? I have saleens rims i bough from here there 17 x10.5 on 315 tires. Wold these fit? Would u guys recomend?

Anthonyu

  • Combined with that wide of a wheel and this spacer I would think you are going to have fender clearance issues with that wide of a tire and spacer.

    1" Spacers - 2007 White Mustang GT

Doing a little research, reading other reviews... I found out that I might need spacers (hubcentric to be specific) for the caliper covers that I also purchased on AM to make sure my covers did not scrap my wheels. I also did not want to buy larger wheels to get the aggressive Stang stance. Well, the spacers are one of the best inventions. The spacers were not only functional but they gave my Stang the power look I wanted. Knockout two issues with one solution! 1" spacers are the way to go regardless if you have caliper covers or not! Absolutely Amazing

These wheel spacers will really give your ride a great look without the expense of buying new wheels. Installation is not bad at all and the result is well worth it. The aggressive stance these spacers give are very worthy the money.

    Beautiful quality

Tires were balder than my dad, therefore I needed new ones, went ahead and threw some 1" wheel spacers in with my new 275 Sumitomo tires, my stance is epic.

Nice, tasteful Mod for the money

Works on factory bullet wheels, Although factory studs extend beyond spacer, the studs fit nicely in the recesses on the inside of bullet wheel.

    Wheel spacers

Easy to install, fit well, improves appearance of the car, brings the rear wheels out to where they should have been to begin with. The only change I would make is to include the torque specifications for the spacers.

Love the Look, Read the Fine Print

Just got these recently and attempted to install... Unfortunately in my excitement upon finding these spacers I overlooked an important part in the description. "Designed for aftermarket wheels" "Does not fit stock wheels" Found out why upon installation. The stock rims on my '04 Mustang V6 will not sit flush against the spacer. The original studs protrude out of the spacer enough to 'raise' the wheel away from the spacer causing an un-flush mount. Besides my overeagerness getting ahead of me this is a great product, has a solid build, and gives a mean appearance over stock. Will definitely keep in my inventory for when I get some new shoes for my horse!

    Big Difference

I was very pleased with this purchase for my 2011 GT with the premium 19" wheels. I really liked my stock premium wheels, but couldn't stand that they were tucked inside the wheel well, and felt they would look much better flush with the well. Install was simple, and instantly changed the appearance of my lowered GT. I highly recommend re-tightening the lugs after 100 miles. I now have aftermarket wheels with the proper offset, and gave the spacers to a friend, he is also very happy with them.

Perfect stance for stock wheels on SN-95 Mustangs

I agree with Kyle, the 1" spacer is perfect for 94-98 ponies. It bumps your wheels out enough too look mean but not too much. Doesn't look cheap or "ghetto" at all. Don't second guess yourself. Save a little money and buy yourself these spacers. As always, AM buying experience is amazing. Thanks AM!

The spacers will give you the muscle car look that you have been wanting. I have a 1999 Mustang GT Conv. I went with the 1 inch. The 1 in. is the right size for the person wanting a good look without the tires sticking out of the fenders. I hope this helps..

    Just What I Needed

I bought the 1" spacers to use on a highly modified 1968 Mustang front wheel with 2000 Cobra front suspension. They look great and provided the perfect offset and caliper clearance I needed. Got the parts quickly and they are top quality. Would recommend this company to others!

    Perfect spacing for 94-98 guys

1" is all us 94-98 guys need to get even with the front wheels, but not stick out so much that the fender cuts up your tires on big bumps. Did not have to cut my stock studs with my 99/01 Cobra wheels. They're 17x8's with 255 series tires and they do not look "ghetto" or "too skinny" by any means. Very tasteful and high quality mod.

These are perfect to get rid of the horrible tucked in look for the rear wheels. Not sure why AM says they won't fit stock wheels when I used them on my stock gts wheels and now my stock mach 1 wheels. Anyways great product, just ignore the not fitting stock wheel part haha.

    Satisfied!

I went back and forth for a long time about whether or not to buy these spacers. I just didn't know how they would look or whether I would like them. Finally I caved and bought them. All I have to say is that I should have gotten these a LONG time ago. The rear end looks a lot meaner now. I don't know why I doubted....handling increases are marginal, but noticeable, but handling shouldn't be the reason you get these anyway. Oh, and I received them in 2 days, too. Overall, I'm very satisfied!!

1" Billet Wheel Spacer - 2011 GT (They work)

I wanted the staggered look and am too cheap to buy new wheels and tires soooo... wheel spacers. However, everything listed on the AM website says these won't work on a 2011 GT. I purchased these xpecting to have to cut my stock studs but I quickly realized if you own factory (optional) 19" wheels, these spacers will indeed work and work perfectly with no alterations. If you have the optional 19" wheels, buy in confidence.

Great Spacing, But Not Hub Centric

Dramatically improves looks, but these are not hub centric, they gave my car a small vibration so I took them off.
