Description
Improve ET's and low end torque. Are you looking to get more low end grunt off the line and lower ET's at the same time? Then look no further than installing a set of steeper gears in your Pony. This Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Gears are perfect for street, road, or race use.

Complete Kit. This Ford Racing Gear and Installation Kit comes complete with all the components needed to swap out your ring and pinion gear. It includes Ring gear, Pinion gear, inner rear gear pinion bearing, 1 bottle of Friction Modifier, 2 bottles of 75w140 Gear Oil, gaskets, seals, shims, bearings and all the required hardware.

Legendary Ford Racing Quality. When you're adding performance parts to your Pony, you can't go wrong by installing parts from the folks that know it best. Ford Racing's legendary quality ensures years of hassle-free use.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool or a Bama SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner is a quick and easy way to fix this issue.

Application. This Ford Racing 4.10 Rear Gear and Installation Kit is designed for use with 8.8in solid rear axle equipped Mustangs, including the 2005-2014 GT, Bullitt, BOSS, Shelby GT500 and 2011-2014 V6 models.Application Note: Does not fit 2013-2014 Boss or Shelby GT500 Mustangs with axle codes S-215-D and S-219-D.
Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

    Definite performance improvemnt

    Brought this kit to a rear end specialist shop and left my car for a day. The shop told me that it's really important to break these gears in. Make sure to keep the speed below 50mph for first 100 miles (drive 15 miles and then cool off for 30 minutes), and then no more than 65mph for another 500 miles. This ensures that you don't chip your gear teeth as well as keeping the integrity of your new gear oil. After 500 miles, make sure to change your gear oil as there might be little chunks of metal due to gear break-in period. As far as performance, it's a great improvement over stock gear. The car responds way better. I've also uploaded a custom tune from Bama via inTune tuner, and the tune has really improved the performance.

    Torque!

    This was an amazing improvement! These 4.10 are perfect for 2010-14 mustang Gt.. If you're thinking about going with 3.73..don't! I didn't see a dramatic change in fuel economy. It took me a day to install due to access of proper tools. They don't send you enough fluid in this kit, you will need another bottle for the 8.8 rear end. Once again, best mod Iv bought so far for my car.

    Wow definetly a must

    I order this kit along with a 4" one pice drive shaft and a ford racing LSD. I gotta say I'm loving it no regrets I own 2014 V6 auto so I have to same that for us autos 4.10 is the way to go I don't do much highway driving mostly back roads so I absolutely satisfied.American muscle did a great job on getting these shipped out fast like always they were out of stock the minute they wre back in stock I was notified and I placed my order thanks like always AM

    It is a different car now

    I had a Bama tune and cold air intake for a while and love them. When I had the 4.10 gears installed it changed everything. The car is very fast off the line. The response is great. Gas mileage went from 28 to 23. That is about what I expected based on other reviews. Overall it makes daily driving fun.

    Major Difference

    Never liked the stock 3.31 ratio. Installed the 4.10's with tune and immediately felt a power increase, no major difference in fuel economy. Can't wait to track it.

    This provides more power

    If you are looking for more power in the low end, this will do it. After install, there is more acceleration and the power in the low end. After install of gears, I get approximately 24-25 miles per gallon for highway and 21 for city driving. The highway driving is more negatively affected. Most of my driving is at the low end, city driving in the Washington, DC area so MPG is not affected much for me. The noise level is higher with the highway driving since the RPMs will be higher. I have the 2012 V6 convertible.

    4.10's are so great!

    For the 3.7l v6 with 2.73 or 3.31 gears. This is one of the must have upgrades. 4.10's will wake the car up! It will now really feel like a 300+ Hp car. Normal shop cost would be 200 to 300 bucks. I didn't pay anything since my cars rear was already being rebuilt. Just make sure it's done by someone who does gears for a living.

    Ready to hit the track

    Great purchase again from AM love that you can walk to the shop and just tell them everything you need is in the box without having to order anything extra. Can't wait to test them at the track in 2 weeks.
