Increased HP and torque. From the factory, the manufacturer programs their vehicles to cater to the needs of the daily driver, not the performance enthusiast. After loading the custom Bama Tune on a vehicle, even a bone stock, unmodified Mustang will realize noticeable gains in HP, Torque, and Fuel Economy.


Increase your mod's potential. Factory computer settings are calibrated for the original factory components. When making performance modifications, you need to recalibrate the vehicle's computer to realize the full potential that these modifications can achieve.


Free tunes for life! Every customer that purchases a tuner is enrolled in the "Free tunes for life" program. Any time that you make additional mods to your vehicle, our team of SCT certified Bama Custom Tuners will create new tunes for you. Just send us a list of the part or parts you've added and we'll email the tune files to you.


Custom Bama Tunes specific to your vehicle. When you order a tuner, you aren't just getting a tuner - you are getting the tuner and 3 dyno-tested custom Bama tunes:


  • Street (87-93 octane) - the street tune is designed as a daily driver program that focuses in on increasing mid-range power. It does give up a few HP at higher RPMs, but that's why there is a Performance file. Automatic vehicles are further enhanced by making adjustments to the transmission's shift points and firmness.


  • Performance (87-93 octane) - The Performance program is designed to add power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. Timing, fuel and throttle response settings are slightly more aggressive than the street tune. This is a great track tune but also works well for daily drivers that are looking for a little more "get up and go" than the street tune. The automatic transmission settings are the same as in the street tune.


  • Race (91 - 93 octane) - The race tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race only Use" as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. in fact, the adjustments are so aggressive, that we do not recommend it for daily driving as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. Finally, with the automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.


Nitrous (91-unleaded race gas) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91-octane unleaded fuel.


Easy to load; easy to restore. Not only are the custom tunes easy to load on your vehicle, it is just as easy to restore your factory settings. When you load your custom tune on the vehicle, the tuner automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return the vehicle to its factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings, and you're done.

    Buy it! If you have even the slightest desire to get the most out of your 4.6 you will own one of these. First things I noticed (stock) was better throttle response and better top end performance. One great feature is the ability to turn off the electronic speed limiter, now mother nature is the speed limiter. You can also bump the red line up a few revs. What are you doing reading this?!?! Go get one already!!

    I ordered this tuner for my 2010 Mustang GT, which is bone stock except for the Ford Racing shaker/ram air hood (which is really mostly a cosmetic mod). The product arrived 8 days after I ordered it, including 2 weekend days. In the box were the tuner, a USB cable for downloading new tunes and updating the system software, a CD-ROM with a firmware updating program and PDF user manual (you'll need to be running Windows to use this disc), a nice metal dash plaque, and an SCT badge than can be affixed to the outside of the vehicle if you so desire. There is also a printed page of instuctions. You should install the CD-ROM software and update to the latest firmware first. I did not do this and tried to do it after the fact, but the updating software advises you to return your vehicle to the stock tune before updating firmware. Being too lazy to do that I simply just keep the tuner on the firmware it shipped with (which for all I know could be the latest firmware).Installing the tunes is a piece of cake, though the printed instructions don't mention that when you plug in the tuner it should be done with either the car ignition turned to the off position or with the key left out of the ignition completely. The tuner will tell you when to turn the key to the on position. Anyway, you simply plug the tuner into the computer port located below and to the left of the steering wheel. When the cable is securely attached the tuner will then turn on. From there you simply select the tune you wish to install on the vehicle by following the on-screen prompts. You will have the choice to edit various options such as timing and setting the speed limiter but I chose to leave them as is since the tuners at Bama already had it squared away. The first time you install a tune takes the longest since the device also downloads the stock computer settings into the tuner. This is a handy feature when you want to take the vehicle in for servicing but don't really want the dealer to know you've modified the programming and any warranty voiding issues that might entail. The tune I leave in my vehicle is the 91 octane race tune (I just found a gas station near me with 93 octane so soon I will upgrade to the 93 octane race tune). Since this is not an inexpensive device I was worried if the performance of my vehicle would be noticeable, and I imagine a lot of folks looking to buy a tuner think the same thing. Worry no more...the results are definitely noticeable, even on a stock GT. Immediately after installing the tune I took the 'Stang out for a spin and was caught by surprise. I chirped the tires just pulling away from my house...unintentionally! The power really comes on from 3k RPM and up. I'm glad I have a manual transmission but I sort of wish it was an automatic just to see how dramatic the shift firmness improves as a result of the tuner. If it is anything like the power gains then it should be impressive indeed!Anyone on the fence about buying this tuner needs to get off and put your money down. This makes a great first mod and will continue to earn its keep when you further mod your vehicle and take advantage of American Muscle/Bama's tunes for life deal. I can't say enough good things about it!ps No reliability issues/check engine lights/or any other funky problems. My Mustang is as reliable as the day I bought it.

    I have an 08 v6 mustang with Automatic transmission. I previously had the FRPP Pro-cal custom tune on it to support my FRPP cold air intake. This SCT Tuner BLOWS it away!! I immediately went for the race tune...yeah, holy $#!t! It is FAST! But my mustang sped up so fast that I had to hit the breaks to keep from rear ending the slow moving traffic in my city...hence why the race tune is not recommended for daily driving...but damn is it ever fun :DThe performance tune pulls HARD too in the 3k - 4k RPM range! Much harder than Ford Racing's performance tune. I wish I had purchased this tuner sooner, it is an absolute MUST HAVE for anyone looking to pull more "fun factor" and performance out of their automatic V6.It is also very easy to use (intuitive almost), and the support from AM/Bama tuning is GREAT! The support staff are very patient on the phone, they're not eager to get you off the line (like Ford Racing seems to be), and they are all very knowledgeable and friendly each time I have spoken with them.You're buying more than a tuner...you're buying great customer support along with it.
