Not too loud.

This muffler has a great sound. I replaced the factory muffler on my stock single exhaust with this 10 series and some adapter pipes. Love the sound, not too loud or raspy. Very little drone!

I have a Roush side exhaust setup right now with MagnaFlow mufflers. My question is will I be able to use thesearch mufflers because my current mufflers have the inlet and outlet on the same side. Thanks in advance

  • The Super 10 Series Muffler's outer case measures 4" x 9.5" x 6.5", so keep in mind that if your muffler has different dimensions you're possibly going to have to make modifications to make it work.

Answer This Question

I have a 2000 gt with original 40's on it. I want something louder but that isn't just noise. I love the tone and ive done extensive research on what mufflers to put on so now I want some advice. I do still have cats and the stock h pipe. like I said looking for something between what I have now and just noise, loud but with a tone. something that makes people look but aren't exactly annoyed. something that's somewhat noticeable at idle and will turn heads when the you open up the throttle. (I know I cant please everyone but you get the gist of what I mean.) also this is my daily driver but I'm not worried about exhaust drone.

hdb97

  • You didn't say how many chambers in your 40 series you are presently running. If you were running single chanbers, I would advise you to not change, but if 3 or higher, then certainly these will help with the tone coming out of those pipes. You must remember also, those cats are very restrictive and if you have never tested this, just pull the mufflers off and see how quiet the exhaust still is with only pipes pass the cats! If you were to chang the cats out to low restriction models, AM sells those as well, you might even like the sound of the 40's better. It that is still not what you want, then change the mufflers as well to these. That should give you the loudness and tone you are looking for from your explanation. Hope that helps.

Answer This Question

I have slp loudmouth paired with high flow cats and a off road x pipe. Do you think the Flowmaster 10 series would be loader or equal?

feyko

  • Yes, The 10 Series will be a bit louder due to the M80's, but also completely different sounding. It has a deeper tone and the exhaust pulses will sound different. There are plenty of samples to listen to on youtube. FM 10 Series is a head turner and great sounding muffler.

Answer This Question

How do these sound when paired with an offroads xpipe??

Chipmunk

  • Flowmaster 10 Series mufflers paired with an offroad X pipe will be loud, though providing a deeper exhaust tone due to the chambered design. It would be aggressive and pretty mean sounding. These mufflers scavenge exhaust pules excellently.

I was wondering about something. I am about to order two of these flowmaster super 10 series mufflers with the BBK O/R x pipe. Will the exhaust from start to the tips look just like it does before in length, or will i need to buy some straight pipe or U-bends????

Smitty101

  • Good Question. -You will need two pieces of 2.5" straight pipe that will exit out of the X pipe, then connect to mufflers. And lastly you will need to pick out a set of tailpipes, And tips if you so wish. -If you were to take your X pipe, your mufflers, and the set of tailpipes to a "real" exhaust shop (that owns a pipe bender and employ's a welder) and they will weld it together and install the hangers. Flowmaster 10 Series is an excellent muffler proven on bench test and sounds fantastic. I always recommend using a set of hi-flow cats, they improve exhaust tone, eliminates loosing low-end power, of course emmisions.

sounds great on my x pipe

Thought they would be too loud with alot of interior noise, surprisingly not too loud inside. Sound great outside with a deep aggressive tone. Picked them up for a great price at AM. Would definitely recommend.

The best exhaust if you're looking for an aggressive muscle sound. Great sound at idle and open throttle. Interior sound is great without drowning out anything else inside.

I have a 2010 mustang 4.0, I have been hunitng for a aggressive sound for my mustang. With price and sound being crucial, i did a lot of studying on muffler sounds on a 4.0. This flowmaster super ten was my answer. It delivers a great rumble with my dual X pipe and it growls on the roads and highway. The flow also moves much more efficient out the tail pipe and I did feel a slight difference in power with these mufflers compared to my old ones. the moment you start it up it sounds aggressive. I have seen more heads turn with these mufflers than my old ones. It is worth it for a V6.

    NIce sound

I preface my statements by saying that I am new to the mustang community. I plan on converting my sixxers single exhaust into a true dual exhaust, but with that said, I was looking for a temporary change in sound from stock in the mean time. It sounded pretty good for a single exhaust when compared to stock.

    great sound!

I have a MAC prochamber off-road mid pipe. It was paired with slp loudmouth 1 catback set up. WIth no cats the slp was too raspy. So I installed flowmater 10s and it is just as loud like I wanted but it is deeper and it sounds more like a mustang was meant to sound. Overall my 04 GT sounds like a beast now and I love the sound.

    Simply Amazing

Even though I have a v6 as a new father I have to make do on what I have. So the First thing was to change out the exhaust. Got rid of the Y pipe and had a custom H pip installed. As for a stock setup I wanted the flowmaster 10s to do their magic. Flowmasters were the way to go. Nice deep rumble and screams at WOT. Driving under bridges and tunnels are heavan. This was a good purchase. Setup Stock cats, H pipe, Flowmaster 10s

    Just do it.

Wow. I just recently bought my mustang and it had some bullet style mufflers on it that sounded good, but i had no idea what they were so I wanted to get a good muffler that sounded good and was some what cheap. These honestly are not as loud as everyone makes them out to be, don't get me wrong the super 10s are not quite by any means, they have a fantastic american muscle sound to them and i am very pleased with my purchase. So if you are scared these will be to loud don't worry, they are the perfect mix of loudness and tone. Off road H or X coming soon and i can't wait to here it then! Thanks AM!

Best muffler for a Mustang GT

I have been searching high and low for the perfect exhaust note on my 01 GT. I used to have the Flowmaster American Thunder Catback (Flowmaster Super 44's) paired with a Bassani Offroad X-Pipe. The sounds was great but it just wasn't loud enough for me. I looked at pypes and slp mufflers but I just didn't like the sound that they made. They just make loud noises. So I went with these Super 10's and they are the best sound I've ever heard on a mustang. They are very loud and have that flowmaster sound so its perfect. Trust me if you are looking for very loud mufflers. Look no further, these are the mufflers for you.

    O/R X-Pipe + Flowmaster 10's

This is the best exhaust combination I can find for the 99-04 2v guys. The o/r x-pipe gives you the free flow you need to make the Flowmaster 10's scream. After trying many other mufflers this is the best combination between loud and throaty, NOT raspy. Bang up product, I love it! Best purchase in the exhaust department since my o/r x-pipe. Thanks
