Description
Aggressive Throaty Sound. Add the aggressive throaty exhaust note of a V8 to your V6 Pony with a Touring Axle-Back exhaust system that features a pair of Ford Racing Straight-Through mufflers and 3.5" polished exhaust tips for both great looks and great sound.

Stainless Steel Construction. The Ford Racing V6 Touring Axle-Back exhaust system is constructed from 2.5", high quality T-304 Stainless Steel tubing and features 3.5" polished 304 stainless tips with embossed Ford Racing logos. The tips exit in the stock locations so no modifications are required to the rear bumper cover.

Difference between this and the FRPP Sport exhaust? Both this and the "Sport" exhaust have the same description, yet this one is more expensive. What is the difference?

  • This Touring Axle-back is 50 state drive-by noise legal, while the Sport Axle-back is only 49 state legal (not legal in CA) and will be a bit louder.

    Unexpected

    I didn't expect that. - WOW Installation took about one hour. Fit was good but not perfect. Left side wasn't a problem but the right side turned out to be a pain in the a... After a while, bending stuff and back and forth the line up was perfect and everything is good now. Downside. There are no couplers with the new exhaust so that means you have to cut off the ones on the original one. Then it was time to turn on the engine. Wow. What a difference. Idle sound is so much deeper and powerfull you cannot imagine. Between 2200 to 3500 you can't tell a difference between V6 and V8. Higher rpms sound is similar to OEM exhaust, just a little deeper and louder. Honestly, you don't need a louder exhaust. This thing sounds perfect and it gives you a total new feeling driving your V6. Now it really feels like some muscle car even if it's just the V6. Highly recomanded and it's worth each dollar.

    Great on the outside...

    I have these on my 2011 3.7L automatic. I have mixed feelings about them. Outside the car they sound fantastic, the best I have heard on a V6. Not too loud, but have much more burble than the stock mufflers. However inside the car the sound went up tremendously, much more than I would have expected from listening to them from outside the car. The increased sound is especially noticeable at cruising speed on the highway turning just under 2k rpm. It was so bad that after a week I got some sound deadener and coated the spare tire well and trunk floor. This took the edge off and it is much more comfortable now. I realize changing mufflers will of course change the sound inside the vehicle as well, but to me it seemed disproportionate. These mufflers are well made and sound great, just my two cents on the interior sound.

    Ford Racing Touring Exhaust fo rV-6

    This is a "pay for what you get exhaust" It is a top of the line system and on the costly side but it fits and sounds and looks great. It weights about half of what the stock mufflers weight so about 20 LBS lighter and that's a plus. At an idle you can't tell your V-6 from an eight.

    A PERFECT MATCH!

    I have made several mods to my '14 V6, Steeda CAI, BBK 73mm TB, BBK Shorty Headers and the Ford Racing Touring Axle-Back Exhaust. I wanted the sound to be aggressive, but not so loud I would wake the children in the neighborhood if I happened to roll in late at night. These mufflers are perfect! I have the deep, throaty rumble that is PLENTY LOUD when I go WOT, and the perfect burble on deceleration. There is absolutely no drone, cruising at a steady highway speed you can't even hear it. That makes my wife happy. On a previous car I installed Magnaflow Street Cat-Backs, the drone was intense and the sound not what I expected. My wife wouldn't even ride with me. When I crank the engine, my stang produces a deep, powerful rumble that is music to my ears, as well as making some in the area wonder what I've got under the hood. Sure don't sound like no V6! The exhaust tips are impressive as well, they see 'FORD RACING', and the questions start. The reaction is always the same "That's a V6?!". To say I'm loving it would be an understatement indeed. Ford Racing has built the perfect muffler for those of us that don't like the high pitched "tuner" tone so many seem to like today. My V6 sounds more like a big block from the 60's and early 70's. If you want the classic 'Hot Rod' sound, these, or even the performance version, which are not legal in a few states, will give you just that. Happy motoring!

    Fantastic Product

    These axle-backs are perfect if you're willing to spend the money. They are quite pricey but for me were totally worth the chunk of change. The chrome finish is gorgeous and mine fit quite well. The install was very easy and these much lighter exhaust tips sound amazing. I daily drive my mustang and they are perfect for it. They are not too loud and sound great at every RPM. On ignition and at idle they sound mean, and once you step on it they scream even better. I have a CAI so I have not experienced the drone that others have complained about, but it sounds like a V8 all the way. I have had them on for a weeks and it has gotten even raspier. Stop looking and get them now if you're willing to spend the money.

    Sounds like mustang now!

    After listening to hundreds of clips of exhaust tones, looking for that Deep Low end,throaty tone. I found it, this exhaust is not loud at all, just a lil louder than stock and I have a manual 6 spd. No drone or interior sound at all. When you punch it you will hear it!! If your looking for a loud aggressive sound at low rpms I would recommend another setup. This setup is for cruising!

    Too loud for me

    Installation took me all day, because for whatever reason, the hanger rods (three per muffler) needed quite a bit of bending to get them to fit correctly in the factory mounts. To accurately bend them, they needed to be removed, so they were installed and removed many many times in the process. They eventually fit absolutely perfectly. They sound awesome and intoxicating rowing through the gears; just right not too loud or quiet. But, they are very loud inside the car steady-state between 2200-2800rpm, which with my 3.73 gearing, is interstate speed. Those with the typical 2.73 gearing will not have this problem. After two days of use, I put the stockers back on and had no problem selling the new mufflers.

    Awesome strong sound, great looking tips.

    Just had these installed today at JBA Speedshop in San Diego. I could have self performed this install if it wasn't for so many other projects around the home. And I really would need a good set of ramps to raise up the back end. The install at JBA went pretty much as everyone else here has stated who did a self install. The initial swap was without incident but fine tuning of the tail pipe alignment added about 30 minutes. Once Todd at JBA turned the key I knew I had made the right choice. I expect things will only get better as they "break in". As a California resident I am subject to the dreaded CARB laws thereby limiting my possible choices. But I have no qualms with these units which weigh considerably less than the factory stock units and are slightly smaller in size. One surprise that I got was that these units are manufactured for Ford Racing by Borla. This surprised me because I could not find a sound clip for the Ford units. Had I known I might have paid more attention to Borla sound clips to get a better idea of what the Ford units might sound like. But it appears it has worked out nicely. The sound at start up is a strong low rumble. Blipping the throttle will provide an enticing growl with a slight burble. The other poster have said well what happens when you step into it. Four stars for the additional time required to bend the alignment rods to get things to line up. I highly recommend looking into these further. Don't disregard just because it is 50 state legal.
